  1. Emotions by gun owners run high because Harold Fish was convicted. Fish shot an unarmed man. The jury was faced with the question “Was he in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm?†They ruled he was not. Sure, they used the 10mm to paint him in a bad light; but they really didn’t need it. As has been posted here time after time you can’t kill someone because they scare you; and that is what Fish did. I’m not worrying about ammo, calibers, gun type, or action jobs.
  2. I am, but I don’t order, I can’t stand the wait. I have gone to Anniston to pick mine out.
  3. Is your dealer doing a transfer? (Sorry, but you said it’s being shipped to him you didn’t say he was doing the transfer) I keep all the guns in my house logged; C&R or not. But I’ve never heard of a C&R holder being checked. So I guess if the ATF is looking at you, what you have logged may be the least or your problems.
  4. I have owned the full size and the compact both in .40S&W. In my personal opinion there isn’t a better deal in a Tupperware gun. I thought the M&Pc was to fat for a compact, but so are the Glocks and XD’s. As an added bonus they are made right here by an American company employing American workers.
  5. Here is how I saw it when I had kids in the house. In the event of a home invasion you will have seconds to get a loaded gun in your hands; therefore unloaded is not an option. A loaded weapon should be stored where small children can’t physically get to it but you have fast access to it. As the kids get older they should be educated about firearms, when you are not in the home and they are; the weapons should be unloaded and locked up. You need a plan that keeps you armed, keeps small kids from accidentally getting their hands on a gun, and keeps older kids from intentionally getting their hands on a gun.
  6. We all lose. Whether you are a fan of supporting American industry or not; the fall of these companies will be a kick in the teeth to our economy. We owe it to our kids and grandkids to leave our economy and lifestyle in at least as good of shape as what we found it. My Generation and this generation have failed miserably at that. This is on us. When your grandkids ask “How could you have been so stupid?†what will you have to say? (not that it will matter). History will show that this was not the fault of the government or the unions; it was the fault of the people.
  7. It’s time to repeal Posse Comitatus it serves no purpose. Someone is going to take control. We saw at New Orleans that local government couldn’t handle the problem and FEMA was doing more talking than acting. That resulted in the unnecessary deaths of many people. Executive Order 12919 already allows for a Federal take over. I don’t know about any of you but I would rather see the military running things in an emergency that FEMA or Homeland Security.
  8. That may have been true years ago, but it isn’t now.

    Para hawgs??

I see that they come in single or double stack. How much difference is there in the width?
  10. Smith & Wesson started making them almost 30 years ago, but they have never really been in much demand. Model 547 K-Frame Model 940 J-Frame
  11. All the guys with little rounds say that.
  12. I don't know about cheap but... http://www.advantagearms.com/advantagearms_dealers.php?State=Tennessee&submit=Go
  13. I’m obviously the last MF in the world you would want to see if you are armed and killing people. I would have killed Weaver and Harris and went to lunch. The dirt bag caused the death of his wife and kid and then got a payday for it; and Harris killed a cop. Screw a bunch of “Rules of Engagement†this isn’t a video game; cops go by the law. There is no law in any of the 50 states that I know of (but admittedly I don’t know all the states laws) that allows an active shooter a free pass. They all had the opportunity to surrender and refused; too bad for them. The <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:stockticker>BOA</st1:stockticker> shooters lowed their weapons a couple of times and ceased fire; did everyone need to quit shooting at them???
  14. It’s not all the unions fault. Unless of course you think autoworkers should be making $5 an hour. It’s headed that way, but of course your wages will be adjusted accordingly; I don’t care if you are a brain surgeon. That is what a “Global Economy†is; and that’s what most of you said you wanted. Well get ready.... you are about to get exactly what you wanted. OSHA, EPA, Workman’s comp, Employee health care, 401K, Unemployment insurance. Which of these would you like to get rid of? Because the manufacturers in China that our companies are trying to compete with don’t pay any of these things and therefore we can’t compete on price…..period… it’s impossible. Our leaders need to stand up and tell Americans that we need to be buying products that are manufactured here. But they don’t have the balls to do that because of the problems it would cause. A bailout of the car companies won’t do any good unless Americans start buying American built cars. Is there anything in the plans that will cause that to happen? I buy American ever chance I get. I won’t buy a Glock or an XD because I don’t need to; I can buy an American made S&W for the same money or less. But don’t get me wrong GM and Ford are not our friends in this. They are moving their production to Mexico and Canada and are using mostly foreign made parts. They should not get a dime of taxpayer money until they submit a plan for that to stop and to use American labor. But that will just increase their costs so we still don’t have a plan to make them profitable. It’s on our shoulders. We bite the bullet and pay more for stuff made here or our economy fails. Manufacturing Vs. Assembly. Before you argue that your Nissan was made in Smyrna or your Glock was made Georgia… The Japanese were not stupid. They new if they put their assembly plants here they would not have to claim to be “American Made†because the Americans that wanted to buy their product would do that for them. The cost of your car is not in bolting it together. It is in the wages of the skilled trade workers that make the components of it; the Toolmakers, Die Makers, Mold Makers, Sheet metal workers, welders, and the list goes on and on. These jobs are in Japan and China right now. And until we bring them back here our economy can’t recover. We need our manufacturing base.
  15. No we won’t. We won’t because we do not have the machine manufactures or the machinists left to do that. However…. We have ballistic submarines. That means that we do not have to worry about being over run by any country …. ever.

    Para hawgs??

Oh I’m sure I’m going to be buying something; I’m sitting here with cash and can’t find anything to buy. I’ve had absolutely no responses from my ad here; I’ve had a few responses from my ad on LSN but they have either not been what I want or people pricing guns at $200 over what they are worth. I don’t have any experience with Para other than what folks are saying about the LDA’s. But these little guys are SA. If you don’t want it; PM me the info. Thanks

    Para hawgs??

I’ve been eyeing these little hawgs in .45ACP Anyone have experience with them??
  18. The first thing I look for after clicking on a thread is the price. Since it has its own field (I have to look for) most aren’t putting it in the body. The second thing I want to know is where the seller is (No point in me looking at stuff in Memphis or Knoxville) . I use to glance over and look under their avatar. Now the avatar is not there and many don’t put the location the in the text either. Also I have gone to the firearms for sale page and half the page or more is filled with deleted threads. Shouldn’t deleted threads be just that… deleted? Was WTB a category of it’s own before? It seems to be getting a lot of threads with little action. Shouldn’t these threads be in with the rest of the firearms? Again… I don’t want to piss anyone off but it sure seems like the action had died off.
  19. That’s a great sig line. It couldn’t be more appropriate than in this thread.
  20. I don’t know… I just give them first shot at it before I go outside the forum. Not only do I donate to the forum but I try to buy from the forum vendors. I just shoot them a PM with what I want; the ones that know me know when I do that I’m going to buy. I don’t contact you because you are to far away.
  21. I agree. I really like the new forum layout with the exception of the trading post. Not near the activity there was before.
  22. Trust me when I tell you it is nothing to be concerned about. Yes, we used silhouette targets.
  23. I’m sure not all cops handle it the same way, but I was talking to a Murfreesboro cop and he said if they are called they just ask you to leave. If you refuse you can be arrested for trespassing. I have asked on the forum a few times and so far no one has replied that they have been cited for carrying in a posted business.
