For the LEOS

The Cops are always in my prayers and have my utmost respect as do those in the Military. They are both very special groups.

30rd AR Mags

I did send him a PM this morning. But since he has posted in this thread I’m going to go out on a limb here and say he doesn’t have any.

Oh I am waiting; I’m not going to get involved in this pricing game. Midway will let me know when they are in. I think there may be a silver lining to this though… When these panic buyers find out that there is no shortage, and Obama is too busy to try to take anyone’s guns, and they have a bunch of money tied up in something they don’t even use; a bunch of EBR’s and accessories is going to hit the market…. Cheap. But in the meantime I have a new PLR-16 with all the cool options, but only has a 10 round mag.

Thanks, but those are AR Stoner’s. I’m looking for Magpul Pmags.

I would take a couple of black 20’s and they don’t have those either. I can’t find any anywhere. I guess the crazy buying flurry after the election cleaned everyone out. Now we have to wait for restock.

MidwayUSA doesn’t have any. They are all marked “Out of stock, No backorderâ€
7. We have had conversations about this. His job is not to take anyone down; I don’t want him to get hurt. His job is to come and get me and let me know there is someone that needs to be shot.
8. Did you get a rifle yet? First rule is you can’t hunt with an M&P compact.
9. Exactly…. No “house clearing†required.
10. Mine is usually in the center console. Unless I’m going to the bus depot in downtown Memphis; then it’s in my right hand.
11. Does that mean they have lawful permanent resident status?
12. I believe it would work in any state. You can’t shoot someone just because you are in a fight, but I believe that if you were fighting for control of a weapon a “reasonable person†(Jury) would believe that you were in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm. But whether or not you go to trial is going to be up to how the DA sees it. Like how capable the guy was of getting your weapon. I have been in a fight for control of a weapon and it is the reason I like magazine disconnects. If you can’t gain control of the weapon quickly; you can press the mag release and both of your hands are then free to do whatever you need to do. Hit him, club him, pull your back-up weapon and kill him… whatever.
13. Good it will not have as much recoil shooting .38’s. (You can shoot .38's out of any .357Mag) What brand and model is it? If it’s a Smith & Wesson, open the cylinder and the model number will be stamped on the frame. Examples would be… 60-4, 66-4 or 686-4. Grips are easy to change.
14. I have been familiar with and used Glaser’s since they first came on the scene. They were designed for a specific application and they are very good at that. But if I had to pick the worst possible choice for a carry round; it would be the Glaser. I would be curious to hear anyone with knowledge of ballistics and this round to explain why anyone would want to carry this round.
15. You made a good choice on caliber; .380 and .32 are not good rounds for a primary carry weapon. Your gun uses .38 Special. If the bullet mass (weight in grains) decreases the recoil would decreases if the powder charge remained the same. However, many times the decreases in bullet mass allows for a greater powder charge which can increase felt recoil. You have chosen one of the smallest and most popular revolvers made. However… the 642 is not only small; it is light. And that has far more impact on recoil. You are not the target market for that specific model S&W J-frame. Controlling recoil on a .38 should not be a big problem. But if it is you may want to see if someone you know has that same revolver in a steel or stainless steel frame (like the Model 36 or 60) and see what you think of how they shoot. .38 Special in Winchester White Box will probubaly be your best bet for ammo. I have been carrying and shooting revolvers for over 30 years and I have yet to find anywhere online or off that has a better or lower cost .38 than the WWB at ChinaMart. It is an excellent range or target round. It is not a good carry round. The .38 was the predominant LEO round until the late 80’s; so there are many quality choices. Federal HydraShok is my own personal choice; they have been knocking down the bad guys for many years. You can get them at Bass Pro, or any gun store.
16. It appears that most that have commented were in the military and therefore earned an opinion. It would be kind of slow around here without people posting opinions about stuff they are absolutely clueless about.
17. I haven’t bought any, 223 in years, but I noticed that the Remington value packs I picked up at China World are marked 55 GR. MC. Is there a difference in MC and FMJ?
18. Because there is a special interest group of women out there that didn’t care if you beat a perfect stranger. They think that there is a group of women that aren’t smart enough to think for themselves; so they need to legislate what those women need. I have been forced to put a bunch of people in jail on this charge and as you can probably tell I think its
19. Has nothing to do with this case… but as a former cop I try to make sure my friends and family understands the consequences of a Domestic Violence charge. My experience is with <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Illinois law; not Tennessee. Like DUI, Domestic Violence is a serious charge that can haunt you the rest of your life or end careers. When we think of “Domestic Violence†cases most of us think of the TV show type cases where the man kills the woman or badly beats her. Those are not misdemeanor domestic violence cases. Many DV cases (most I have been on) have no evidence of physical abuse. In Illinois a DV arrest did not require a battery (physical) only assault (words). I don’t know if that is the case in <ST1:pTennessee or not. If you have a problem… get help. If you live where someone (anyone) that calls the Police on you… get out. I have seen many people refused the ability to purchase or own a firearm that have domestic violence arrests that did not involve violence, a weapon, or threat of a weapon. It’s not right and the courts should do something about it.
20. You do not have a constitutional right to carry. The Federal government doesn’t recognize it, Tennessee doesn’t and neither does Texas. So there are no rights at issue here. What is important here is the rights and the responsibilities of the parents to keep their children safe. I would keep my firearm secured in my vehicle in an absolute safe condition; so that even if the kids got it there couldn’t fire it; or whatever requests the parents made of me. While I was there I would try to discuss their concerns and maybe educate them. It is their home and their children; I would make sure I understood the ground rules before I went. If I didn’t accept them I wouldn’t go.
21. Wow… I can’t even argue that. So… If you had to pick someone with good moral fiber; you throw the guy that got a BJ last night and the butt buddies into the same category? This is about more than what should be allowed in the military. When you limit the military or the private sector from sanctioning someone for immoral behavior it appears to our kids that we are putting our stamp of approval on it. They need to know that this is not acceptable or normal behavior and it has consequences.
22. Jews and Hispanics (Religion or Nationality) have nothing to do with it; unless they are gay Jews or Hispanics. Gays are a group of people committing immoral acts and then wanting a “protected status†because of it. Infidelity is (or use to be) grounds to kick a Military Officer out; why would being gay be acceptable? “Morally offensive conduct†should be grounds for dismissal from a job or from the military if the employer so desires and makes it clear that is a condition of employment.
23. Picked it up last night. I ordered all the required accessories from Kel-Tec; hopefully I will have them next week. Now to find some magpuls.
