  1. You can roll those dice.
  2. I've sent two EMPs back to Springfield to get the chambers opened up (not sure why they insist on stupid-tight chambers on these guns). Both times the guns were back in my hands in less than two weeks and were fixed. If I ever get the bobtail version of the EMP, I will probably be calling Springfield for a label. The shipping was via FedEx Express, which is the original mostly-flies-on-a-plane 1 day and 2 day delivery service formerly known as Federal Express. Fed later bought RPS (Roadway Package System) and painted FedEx Ground on the side of the truck. FedEx Ground is basically run as a separate company. Fed then bought American Freightways and painted FedEx Freight on the trucks and it is a separately run freight and LTL carrier. All the different flavors of FedEx add to the confusion when someone says "it is coming FedEx."
  3. True but you may be able to drive your gas burner to a gas station five miles away where the power didn’t go out. I guess the EV owner could drive to a buddy who didn’t lose power and bum an outlet or fire up the old fossil fuel burning generator and charge up the Tesla. But then he wouldn’t be saving the planet any more.
  4. I suspect that, like gas powered vehicles, the mileage rating is a bit optimistic. Also, how do you charge it if a storm knocks out the power for a few days?
  5. I do find it amusing that the left thinks electric cars are the savior of the environment while also believing that energy is evil. Where do these electric cars get their juice?
  6. Pretty much all of them south of Park Avenue and most west of Highland.
  7. Those are nice guns and I would give them a serious look. I handled one when they first came out and had a hard time giving it back to the guy at the gun shop counter. If you want anything bigger, I would look for a used Ruger GP100. Just as good as the Security Six (which I like better), but probably a little cheaper and a lot easier to find. If you want to spend a little more, look for a no-lock S&W 586/686. If you plan to shoot a steady dose of full house .357, I would avoid the K-frame Smiths.
  8. Or collude with the Russians
  9. That's between you, them, and your local PD.
  10. The majority of issues described in this thread have little to do with a driver lying and more to do with mistakes and errors made due to laziness, sloppiness, lack of training or experience, getting overwhelmed, lack of rest between shifts or jobs, faulty algorithms/analytics/automation that American businesses are becoming more obsessed with, etc. But some people who think they are untouchable due to the current labor climate have gotten a rude awakening.
  11. You would be incorrect.
  12. I'm in the industry and I know of more than a few occasions where the opposite was true. Just because a company doesn't tell customers or the public all the details doesn't mean a situation wasn't addressed.
  13. And reduce/eliminate unnecessary trips through woketopia jurisdictions if at all possible. If forced to use a gun there, one is more likely to face a prosecutor feeling political pressure or jurors who frown on people having the audacity to defend themselves against criminals.
  14. Both. I shoot a lot of USPSA and IDPA and the last thing you want to hear from a new guy is “I’m a cop and I know how to handle a gun.” I shoot with a couple highly competent LEOs, but the majority of them are downright scary with their muzzle control and trigger finger discipline.
  15. Yes I carry a small pocket knife and they are occasionally quite handy. I don’t carry a Bowie or karambit. I do carry a more fighting-oriented fixed blade when running, but am otherwise unarmed. Lights are useful for daily life? Sure. I always have one in the truck. Useful and required carry gear for fighting bad guys encountered during my daily routine? I’m not as convinced.
  16. And now to confirm my true Cro-Magnon status: I rarely carry a hand held light and struggle to imagine a defensive situation in my everyday life where I would need one immediately accessible on my person. If I am poking around in the woods after dark or working in an abandoned or unlit building, I would have one. But on a trip to soccer practice, then Bass Pro, then the grocery store? Not sure how it’s beneficial.
  17. I've never understood the need for a flashlight on a carry gun. To a limited degree, I get their purpose for a house gun (which, I admit, may sometimes also serve as one's carry gun), but can you explain the difference between or give examples of these two scenarios while carrying in public? A couple friends think I am a Neanderthal because I refuse to put one on my carry gun, but they haven't yet convinced me I need to do it.
  18. Hmmmmm, active shooters typically shoot at crowds of people instead of running away from them. I bet the defense began salivating when they heard this guy was going to testify. What was the prosecution thinking?
  19. I am generally not a fan of open carry, but if one’s purpose is to guard/protect in a potential riot situation (as opposed to carrying while shopping, going to the gas station, etc), it can be appropriate. Rittenhouse was not shopping for shoes at the mall. Besides, it’s basically impossible to conceal a rifle, which is what I would want were I in Rittenhouse’s shoes. Whether he should have been there or not is an unrelated issue.
  20. Yeah I couldn’t believe it when I heard Grosskreutz would take the stand. Not that he needed to admit anything—the video shows what he did, but MSM says Grosskreutz put his hands up as if surrendering when he was shot. Ummmm, not in the video I saw. But I am glad for his sake that he apparently still has a left arm.
  21. I bought five raffle tickets and have decided I will get a 45 MOS when they draw my name. You gotta be positive. The cop who took my money said they have been getting calls asking why they are giving guns away, etc. Uninformed people who have no idea how the purchase process works or what an FFL is.
  22. Right. Odds are that if it hasn't been put on a truck for delivery yet, nobody there can run in the back and put their hands on it.
  23. Fedex and UPS suspended guaranteed service refunds back in 2020 and reinstated them on the premium stuff a couple months ago. Will Fedex make the final delivery or is it the flavor that ends up at the post office?
  24. I love Popeye’s, but the one on Brooks Rd is a bit sketchy. ETA: I sent this to a friend who builds Popeye’s restaurants. He said there is some truth to this.
