  1. Ah. The predicate being you have strong 4G. That's kind of a similar issue, they don't put lots of towers out in the boonies either. Its an interesting thought though if you have a way to check all carriers actual signal strength in an area.
  2. Those wide angle lenses really do great for traffic, no doubt. That whole thing screams overpriced to me. LIke $500+ 9mm ammo! If you absolutely need it now. I didnt look at the history. When I saw the pic, I was thinking, that is the common format house small lot house in Chattanooga that was selling around 200k when I stopped looking in the burbs at the end of 2018 before thinking land and build before I hung that up. I'm hope this is not too personal a question to ask, but what is your driver to buy in the current market in that area with your concerns about the alarming rate of increase over such a short time? Is it the concern it will continue to escalate without adjustment and you want to stay there?
  3. Outside of Satellite hookup, what is the method? I was looking at this for a home in South GA and max down was 25 mbps, which is kinda meh to me. And....you should really think about South GA, I have a great deal for ya
  4. Ah geez. That's smart, don't want anyone to break a hip falling trying to run to the back. This has good potential for setting up a cage match! Seriously though, maybe they should set this up like a lottery, give numbers outside so its not biased by biggest and baddest. That would curtail the hours spent outside if there was no reason to be first. Wouldn't solve the family problem, but at least gives other a chance.

  6. It does present well in the pictures. What kind of things did you find in person? Good luck in your search. The couple folks here who bought that I messaged with had very good agents who seemed to find listings that I did not run across with my MLS search (thru an agent) or Zillow / Realor.com searches. Those were listings with 5+ acreas of land though. Looks like land size isnt a key factor so that is on your side. I'd guess a good portion of the folks coming in from out of state are trying for the larger lots. Lots with land have insane markup factors as a result, and my searches moved from being within 30 minutes out to closer to an hour before I stopped my search.

  8. Big housing demand is putting huge demand on copper. Its a perfect storm. What kinda surprises me is ranges are still really busy. But there is a decided shift. Less plinking range use and more on the line at the 100yd rifle with a big bias toward 22lr. Range was busiest I have seen it last Sunday when it was about 42 degrees. 6 of 8 on the line where shooting .22lr. I dont reload, or own any of the equipment, but I have been saving my brass. Hell if I know why with what y'all are saying about component prices.
  9. I was going to mention exactly that. When we moved out here we used a major moving for household goods. My 3+ tons of ammo could not be moved with home goods due to hazard limitations. I was not going to let them move my guns anyway. 1 way Uhaul was what I was looking at. But the cost renting from CA during summer was going to be more having a freight carrier move ammo after it was put on palates. I was able to being all my guns in my vehicles. If I was closer than that, or it was another season with low demand, I would have U-hauled.
  10. I feel your pain. So much resonates with earlier houses and that feeling market prices will escalate forever which drove you to settling. Like Fujimo, my sense is not sustainable. History is on our side, and the minor correction that started at the end of 2019 was quickly erased and forgotten as the CV influence changed the housing market. While senses and history says wait it out and get twice as much, its tougher today because of one important variable that never existed in past bubbles. CV has signficant taken out the requirement of being "closer to work" that kept rural buys reasonable. We are currently getting land pressure from those that can work remote as CV has proven that remote workers are more than viable and companies now see the light of cost savings in overhead. We moved here in 2018, having taken me about 5 years of pleading with my wife to leave CA. I got the green light summer 2017 to put our house up for sale. Over that time, really starting in 2016, I was watching prices out here. They seem to really ramp up in the beginning of 2017. I did some scouting trips and at that time felt prices were high based on having seen the recent jumps from earlier in 2017. I should have jumped on some contingent offers, but I was seeing, even back then, homes with any land that were decent sold in a day. If it makes you feel any better, yes today is worse due to CV having rocked the market, but its really been noticably bad for a bit longer so dont feel you've just recently missed it. We are renting and paying waaay more than we should because landlords can. Setting a pile of money on fire every month is painful. At this point I am committed to staying the course and sitting on the equity from our CA home hoping post CV reality will take hold. Especially when .gov powers down the money printing presses driving the economy from crashing in on itself ala 2008. I won't settle or overpay. Worse case I will move elsewhere if the work from home crowd takes over TN because the politics will be changing soon after. Little anecdote on selling in this market. We have a large farm house on 30 acres in very rural south GA we are selling. Some folks from hoity-toity part of Atlanta came to look at it as they are escaping the big cities. His only real question and biggest concern....can I get a high speed internet connection for work. When that moves to the top of buyers requirements list for homes, we know we are in a different place.

  13. After so many lean years, I can understand making hay while the sun shines even if it sits a bit uncomfortable. I think this behavior is really where a lot of the volume goes though the media and manufactures likes to point at "new gun owners". Its the same thing we saw happen post Sandyhook when season buyers bought up everything to resell. We will see the same as soon as B-dog drops the ban word. The mag run should be impressive to watch. That last part about intermediaries....that is some good forward thinking. Knowing some have a long memory for when the lean time hit and not alienate those that would hold the max profit stuff against them. Thanks for sharing!

  15. I have some of the Korean tanker mags. They run well. They are notorious about their tab thickness causing them not to lock in on some guns. Newest ones are suppose to be better, but if not a few passes with a file and you get that custom fit
  16. Do you need to add value? I imagine they could argue they are by increasing availability from a highly localized area to a national offering as the seller does not make it available for online purchase. Exactly what Amazon does with some food stuffs. But yes, it would be nice is someone smacked them on the pee pee. Like the cat dude was saying, they recognize regulars, it would be nice if they put limits on them like grocery stores were. May stop some even if unenforceable. Are these guys camping out at the stores the night before? How is that rush in the AM. They wait in the car and when the first guy exits there is a mad spring to the door? I'd almost like to see that.
  17. Ah...no wonder. I had no idea. Haven't bought ammo from a brick and mortar for many years. So its the online guys tripling down.
  18. No issue out of that MOE version in any of my AK's. Hair tight in my Polish AK. They dont fit a couple speed loaders designed for the smaller metal form factor. If you like poly mags, I recommend the Bulgy poly's. They are metal reinforced and fit well in pretty much anything and are inexpensive. I have some steel Bulgy's that wont fit my Polish but good in others. If you look at tanker size 20 rounds. The PMAG version I tried (4 of them) would spring bind at 19 rounds FWIW.

    Maybe most will pass it on by. I have no idea what ruckus caused the enough is enough, but the stink of it may keep it toned down. I trust some who dont see it as a problem to say will be along. This topic almost always devolves into US made vs Foreign junk or some kind of brand alignment deal. We shall see.
