  1. The 92fs was also my first pistol (Lethal Weapon effect). In my opinion the 92 is the most accurate 9mm out of the box for under 1K. You can't really go wrong with one. My first one I put around 3 or 4K rounds through it with out a single issue. Still wish I had not sold it.

    1911's

My SW 1911, Taurus 1911, the wife's Kimber Ageis II and my CDP Pro.
  3. I conceal my Kimber Custom Pro CDP II using a crossbreed super tuck. It hides the pistol very well.
  4. I agree, after all the issues I had finding a gun for the wife, we ended up with one of those. She loves the 1911 feel but not the .45. This was the perfect compromise. Of course it isn't cheap.
  5. I would suggest checking out the CZ P07 duty. Comes with a decocker setup from the factory but has the safety setup in the box and even allows cocked and locked carry. Comes with 16 round mags and has to be one of the best grips I have ever held. I picked one up to replace a G19 I sold. Fits the hand great and at under $500 I consider it a steal. 6. My most painful would have to be when I was 9-10 yrs old. I was goose hunting with my father and a neighbor and since this was my first trip dad decided it was time to learn respect for firearms. We took the neighbors shotgun into the field and I fired it. It was a good ole break open 10 ga shotgun. Instant respect for how bad a firearm can hurt ya. The worse handgun has to be a buddy's S&W 340 scandium/titanium .357 shooting full house loads. I shot 5 rounds and will never shoot it again.
  7. Yep, I ordered from them, they charged immediately. I gave them 1 month to deliver the items. When they didn't I called them and asked to cancel the order and get a credit back to my account. After 10 days, they had not credited my account, so I had my CC company reverse the charges.
  8. My choice was a Moss 930 SPX. My wife has issues chambering followup rounds on my 870. The 930 was the logical choice for that reason.
  9. There is a review of the Sphinx .45 in the May 09 Combat handguns. The MSRP is $2990. It received a very good review. "The Sphinix's quality is in line with a high end custom pistol, making it worth its hefty price tag. Looks like they got a little over 1 inch groups at 25 yrds with it from a free standing position.
  10. Yes, when a 5.45 bullet is fired out of the 5.56 barrel if does not contact the rifling tight enough so when the bullet leaves the barrel it will tumble leaving oblong holes in the target instead of round.
  11. It depends on what you are looking to get. You can get a Century Tantal for around 625-700 new. You can get an interarms Tantal for 700-800 new. The interarms (hope I an getting that right) is considered better with less issues but is harder to find. The Century is hit or miss. Some of the older ones were built on 5.56 barrels and suffer from keyholes at even short ranges. If you get a newer one or one that is on a correct barrel they are as good as any other one out there, buy it is hit or miss. I own a century and will be shooting it this week to find out which I have. As for the Bulgarian AK-74s those can vary wildly, I have seen them as low as 800 and as high as 1200.
  12. When I need a pocket pistol instead of my G19 or CDP I usually use my Beretta tomcat in .32acp. It shoots fine for what is it meant to do, I can keep it in the 9 ring at 7 yrds without trying hard.
  13. Last time I was in Gander (Saturday) looking for .45 ammo, they had none of that but at least 200 boxes of .40. If they are out Gunny's in Maryville had 40 or so boxes. Not sure on the price though since I was there to get .45.
  14. Played FPS since Quake 2 days, no so much lately as my clan is into TF2 and I am not. Wish they would update counter Strike, that is one game I always enjoyed. Played WoW for about 18 months or so then it got boring for me.
  15. Finally took my Kimber CDP and the Taurus 1911 to the range today. Put 100 though them both (speer lawman 230). Only one issue at all and it was with the Taurus during rapid fire, one failure to return to battery and I am pretty sure it was my fault. The Kimber was great, started out a 7 yrds and then 15, left a ragged hole with a couple of flyers during rapid fire. The Taurus surprised me, I would say if it is not as accurate as the kimber it is REAL close. If it holds up, I will consider this firearm to be the best value in 1911s out there. I ran all my 1911 mags today. 4 Wilson Combat 47Ds, stock kimber, 2 Kimber 8 rounders and the 2 Taurus stock mags, all functioned great. Now all I need to do is put 300 more down range on the Kimber and I will trust it for carry (finally replace my glocks)
  16. Did you get the USG (manual safety) or the standard?
  17. I wouldn't consider one as above the other, I have owned both in the past (HK usp 40, hk usp 40 expert, hk usp 45 tactical, HK45 Compact, Sig P220, Sig P239, Sig P226). To me the + for the HK is the light weight compared to similar Sigs, other prefer the steel or alloy frame over the polymer. You can't really go wrong with either if you shoot it well. Sad thing is I prefer my Glocks for carry over them.
  18. +1 for the crossbreed, nice thing about them is, the G19 one can be used with many different glocks. I have carried my old 23 and 27 in it just fine since you can "remold it". They actually send directions with the holster on how to adjust the tension by remolding the kydex.
  19. On the 1911 boards, most Kimber fans will always blame the mags for this. Supposedly, you shouldn't use the Wilson mags until after the 500 round break in period . I have a custom CDP II I need to get out to the range, hopefully mine won't have the issues many Kimbers seem to have now.

  22. Ok one of the reviews was funny "Can you live without it? Sure, but when the zombies come you may regret not having one."
  23. Pics as requested... The second one is with a G19 for scale.
  24. I just purchased a FNP45 USG, I haven't taken it to the range yet. Hoping to do that this weekend. Initial impression is that it is a fine pistol, quality on par with an HK or SIG. The USG is a large pistol (15 rnd mag). The only issue I think I may find is with the checkering on the grip. It feels sharp as if the pistol was designed to be fired with gloves (which is probably the case as the USG was FN's entry in the DOD .45 sidearm search). I will let you know more once I have fired it.
  25. I also have a P22. The only issue I had with it was fail to feed (4 out of 50) with wildcats. Zero issues with the CCI stuff. I will save the cheapo wildcats for my 10/22. I have read on the Walther forums that the P22 needs the hotter stuff for the first couple of 100 rounds, after that the cheap stuff will function fine. I will see if that is true once I get to 3 or 4 hundred.
