  1. What's so funny? It looks like a good cutting board.       Thanks bersa.
  2.     LOL...I am a slow learner Brother.
  3. I received a "Thank you" reply early this morning as well.   I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one.     One step at a time.
  4.     E-mail of appreciation sent.     Thank you Todd (gunlobbyist)  and Knife Rights.
  5.     No, not a CEN prefix...but I wish it was LOL. It's BKC.   Yes, I like the feel of the combination of the hip grips and Tyler T. The fill my hand much better than the stock grips. The "rubber band" aids in torque reduction. I also appreciate the carry options the hip grips afford.
  6. And was an Excellent SO as well.   Thank you Daniel for an excellent match.   I earned a couple of procedurals, and I do mean earned them, and had a great time shooting with a great bunch of folks. Life is good. :pleased:
  7. I think Patton nailed it. I too have either owned or shot (pretty extensively) every J Frame configuration and O frame Colt. I settled on the 640 Centennial back in 1992. It's in my pocket now. The issue (s) with J Frames and similar sized revolvers that make them challenging, doable, but challenging...are short sight radius, heavy trigger pull as it relates to the size and weight of the gun, and preceived recoil as it relates to the weight of the gun. All aspects are manageable with training and practice imho. The points Patton mentioned about carrying one are also spot on. I know I get plenty of dust bunnies and pocket trash on my J Frame 640...but it's never impeded it's function.
  8. LOL...I bet Caster does too. :pleased:     Thanks guys.     My AR's are 1:9...so maybe it's something to try...   We probably need to pursue the 300 Blackout. It's as good an excuse as any to pick up another upper.
  9. He's very photogenic Sour Kraut. And mighty handsome. :pleased:   Please keep the updates coming.
  10. That's great to hear Fireball. Quality is true value.   I agree, I wish more companies would put the effort into quality over volume.     If my 1989 Dillon FL 2000 ever wears out, I might just look into a Thumbler. :pleased:
  11. A couple of friends and I are just getting in to casting our own bullets. We are starting with 9mm and plan to powder coat them. This endeavor is in it's infancy as we've just accumulated all of the components and equipment. We hope to chrono the first rounds within the week.   A shout out and Thanks to Dolomite for his advice and guidance,     My questions revolved around the cost effectiveness and accuracy potential of casting and powder coating rounds for 5.56.   How have you guys made out with this? (powder coated lead 5.56 rounds)   How have the rounds held up in regards to accuracy and velocity?   Do you think this is a cost effective effort?       We are also considering the .300 Blackout platform. None of us own the uppers, but we all have AR's in 5.56. I know that's a whole other direction...but it's intriguing.     The thoughts and opinions of the TGO folks are welcome and appreciated.         ETA  Any load data and or suggestions and experiences are welcome. TIA.
  12.     Whew! That's a relief. I'll get right on it.
  13.   or perhaps prudent purchasing?   Hoarding may be when "the other guy" purchases it before I do.   Just a thought...
  14. I'm still worried about my tire. Should I wrap it in tinfoil? :ugh:
  15.   We'll be looking for you jaxjohn.
  16. Well Done ! :hat:
  17. I'm kinda leaning in Caster's direction on this.   I've shot very little .22 this year, and I handload...so I personally have little motivation to seek .22 or pay the inflated prices for .22 that were seeing. Heck, I don't know...this might be the new norm. All the more motivation for me to cast bullets.     I do still want some .22. It's a great caliber for starting folks, friends, and family on. But I'm not in a hurry...not even a little...   Since I'm a Knoxvillian I'd like to know the LGS to avoid as well. But can respect it if you don't want to mention the name.
  18.     Well, OK...but remember:   "Don't come to los angeles, everyone in the town is a government or police rat. It's in everything you own... In the food you eat... In your tire .............."     I'm concerned about my tire.  :ugh:
  19. Same as far as I know regards Paypal. Sorry.   As to aftermarket mags. The vast majority of my range and practice mags are either KCI or Khan. I had excellent success with them. Their finish is not a smooth at the lips as OEM Glock...but a minute or so with fine grit sandpaper makes 'em look tidy.   I even have a couple of the Kahn "happy sticks" (33 rounders). Their springs were a bit weak so I replaced them with extra power Wolff springs and they run like a sewing machine.     J&G has the Glock 17 mags on sale right now.   http://www.jgsales.com/korean-glock-17-9mm-17rd-magazine,-gen-3-style,-black-p-59885.html   I used them in my G 19 at the USPSA match at ORSA without any problems.   :2cents:
  20.   Yeah, I hear he, Brad and Jimmy are going together..oh yeah, Slim as well.
  21. This is an awesome pic Dolomite and Sour Kraut. That is a beautiful puppy. And I can almost smell that "puppy breath". :pleased: We too are hard core animal lovers, dog lovers especially. And ours sleep with us as well, and we wouldn't want it any other way. We gain more from them than we could ever give. They are truly a Blessing. Congratulations guys.
  22. OK, This match was a heck of a lot of fun.   My appreciation to the folks that put all the effort into setting this up and making it work.   It was great to shoot with my buds Brasil & Spiffy...Shoot with Daniel for the first time...meet jaxjohn (welcome aboard buddy) and the other great folks in the squad.   Clear skies and sunshine...a bit cold to start..but a great day!     I'm looking forward to the next one for sure. :pleased:
  23.   You mean Brasil is wrong? It is the arrows? :stunned:       Just kidding Daniel. They are the best...now I just gotta do my part brother.
  24. Enjoy your day off Rickey.   Wish me luck with these guys.
