High noon holsters makes a pretty good holster too. My favorite is a broken in Galco concealed holster from eBay that I paid ~$50 shipped. I am not a big fan of waiting up to 3 months to receive a holster.

No, I'll be keeping this one for a while. I just adjusted the trigger and tightened the rear sight. I won't complain about it now.

I thought I would chime in on this one. I'm not sure how the scoring work, so I just left it blank. The first one is my Dan Wesson Heritage 1911. It looks much more impressive than it really is because the shots caused a tear in the paper. I don't think they were really that tight. I actually went today because I was thinking about sending the gun back to Dan Wesson because it wasn't grouping like I thought it should. Ammo was WWB FMJ 230gr. Second is a Kahr PM40. I just bought this over the weekend and love it. It was the second reason for going to the range. I have 100 rounds out of the 200 break-in rounds recommended by Kahr. It is a little jumpy with one hand, but has great sights. Ammo was WWB 180gr FMJ. Next is a Sig 229 in a .357 sig. I am usually very accurate with it, but I shot it after a .22 and recoil felt a little stronger. Ammo was a 125gr Speer Gold Dot (the reason I only shot 10!). The last one is a Hi-Standard .22 revolver. I don't think it has been shot in 10+years and hasn't been cleaned in that long either. The recoil is equivalent to a BB gun. I cheated and fired it in single action. Ammo was CCI bulk pack hi-velocity 40gr.

I just jumped into the AR15 market for the first time too. I went with a Rock River Arms AR. As far as entry carbines I could not tell a difference in the major brands-Bushmaster, Stag, S&W. I went with the RRA due to the dealer saying he would knock of $150 on the price of it. Plus I liked the two stage trigger. After shooting it I have found it to be a great rifle. I haven't had any misfires or failures in almost 200 rounds. I put a leupold AR scope on it and am out the door for less than $1400 including tax. I think it is a good place to start and upgrade later, which I have been doing. Rock River Arms: Entry Tactical If someone local had carried Daniel Defense, I would have gone with one of those.

DAN 01986 VALOR 45ACP SS for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $1,455.00

Call Hero Gear. They had a few when I was looking for mine a few months ago, but I could not make the trip down. Whittakerguns.com had a few as well. I bought the Herritage .45 and love it. In my opinion it is made as well as any Wilson or Ed Brown I have shot, granted I haven't shot more than a hand full of either.

I picked up the 3x9 just like that one. Thanks.

What about a Konus? I like the Leupold but don't want to spend that on a scope right now, especially when I am going to have the money the AR.

What is a good scope for an AR? I am looking at picking up either a 24" bushmaster or a 16" M4. I am going to be shooting around 100-200 yards at the longest. I have a red dot for within 25 yards. I am getting it mostly to shoot on the range and also to take care of a few coyotes. Any suggestions? I am new to rifles and optics so I don't know much about brands or power. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on my first scope, but I want a quality scope.

I believe you can buy a double recoil spring for the 3rg gen now.

I like Buffalo Bore .380 FMJ for self defense.

There isn't much difference between the two when you have the pinky extension on the 33. I went with the 32 because I liked the feel of it better. I am not a big fan of the pinky extension. Recoil isn't that bad out of either.

What about a Sig 232 or a Bersa .380? Both are great firearms and have less recoil. The Bersa is in the same price range as the two you mentioned. I have never been a fan of the Kel-tec. I own a Ruger LCP and my wife hates to shoot it, and is very inaccurate with it due to the sight picture.

Glocks have a much better trigger and are easier to conceal. I had a USPc .40 and sold it within a month.

They are coming to the Knoxville show at the end of the month. You should ask them then, maybe even take a round or two in to show them.
-
That's a heck of a price.

Does anyone know how long the current turn around time is for most GA orders? It said 5-7 weeks the last time I looked, but it doesn't list a time on the site now. Are they caught up?
-
I would not put one in a 1911.

It is tough to find a clean shooting .45 for that price. Outside of Walmart WWB .45 you will be hard pressed to find .45s for 16-18/box. You may want to look at Speer Lawman. I have found it to be a step above those you mentioned, but you won't find it for less than $20-22/50. Georgia Arms makes a good range .45 FMJ. They are out of stock right now, and have been for around 6 months.

Very nice. I like the leather.

Does anyone have any experience with a Walther PK380? I held one and liked the feel of it. I am not a big fan of a .380, but thought it may be a good carry gun for my wife. Is it prone to failures like the .22 version? Bud's has a great price on it through the police website. I think it was $260ish delivered.

Carrying a .32 for self-defense
nolo replied to mousegunner's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I have a Tomcat too. It stays in the safe because it has horrible reliability due to FTE. It will malfunction at least once a magazine. It was a gift so I can't sell it. If I were to carry it I would pick up some of Buffalo Bore's FMJ defense rounds. The Tomcat is a little larger than the LCP/P3AT. You could probably conceal some of the smaller 9mms easier than the Tomcat, like the 709 or Kahr 9mm. .32 ACP +P Pistol & Handgun Ammunition -
I would like to see how that turns out. It looks like a huge pain in the butt.
