This is true. I do believe synthetic is superior over he long haul. Less wear on critical surfaces due to the smaller molecules. You also get the benefit of running lighter weight oil that increases fuel economy. I had an instructor who was running his wife's minivan without complete oil changes. he changed filter and topped off every 5000 miles. She had over 300K miles last I heard. Synthetic just does not hold the dirt like conventional.

Many vehicles in the last two decades were built to use synthetic oil. I have a 98 Trans Am and an 18 Buick Regal TourX and both spec synthetic oil and premium fuel. Synthetic is great, it does not break down as quickly and additives don't burn off. Also, you can get 0W synthetic, not possible with mineral oils. Another benefit is they clean better and leave the dirt in the filter better. The molecules are smaller and get into smaller imperfections in the metals. Syn also cools better because of this. BUT, if you have been using conventional oil for more than 30K miles I would recommend not changing. conventional will leave a build up around seals and gaskets pushing the seal out. introducing syn will clean the gunk out and the smaller molecules will make their way onto you garage floor, driveway, street, and everywhere else outside of your engine that you don't want your $6+ per quart oil to go. LASTLY, synthetic is better for our environment. Randall53 thought HE was long winded. LMAO

I have owned 4 Taurus revolvers. A stainless 85, blued 689, stainless 650 (was a bear even with .38 special loads) and my new to me 608. never had issue with any of them. I would put the trigger pull and fit/finish of my 608 up against colt or s&w other than custom shop units. I only own two polymer guns, Ruger SR22 and a Kel tech P32. the Ruger I have no fear of having an issue and have had only one failure to fire with the .32 which goes EVERYWHERE with me. pocket lint under the firing pin. or as I call it,,,operator malfunction. all that to say, I love revolvers but carry autos, preferably of the 1911 variety or derivatives. I prefer and buy steel most of the time. but even steel autos can be made with lower cost investment cast frames. revolvers take a lot of machining and are lower volume, that drives up manufacturing cost. as for an empty chamber under the hammer, I have only had one revolver without a transfer bar and never carried my single six. all of my autos are carried cocked n locked except the .32 which has no safety. it's just fully loaded.

I sill look at armslist, but I don't buy there anymore. let me give two examples of pay vs free and you will understand why I do pay my dues here: when I watch TV, if I pay for a channel I have search options to find exactly what I want to see. I also have no commercials (advertisement) and can use other functions like pause and fast forward/reverse this is comparable to having forums and being able to search by word here. and look around...NO ADVERTISEMENTS "free" antenna tv has none of those benefits. one must look elisewhere to find listings, commercials every 4 minutes. you all know what I'm getting at. satellite radio vs free over air radio...see examples above. when I signed on to armslist the search was comprehensive, fewer advertisements in the margins, ads that were there were relevant to my interests. and the classifieds were free. since then they have taken away the comprehensive search, put in ads for cbd oil and clickhole "look a this star now" crap. they went commercial over private AND began charging their audience. saying that those who still use it by phone and don't pay the fee are thieves is smacking some of your own customers in the face. just do a search for phone on armslist and see, they do not take down the ads telling others to list their phone number.

this IS my social media. I have found I do not care to associate with most people. If I want to be social I normally go out somewhere people are. Mainly car shows, gun shows, and church.

Been here less than a year. Post when I feel like I should. Try to stay out of the dog house with other members. I have only made on purchase from another member and had no issues whatsoever. In the few months I've been a member I have seen a change myself in the members both new and established. I believe it is a sign of the time we are in. Everyone is nervous and edgy, there is very little trust and zero tolerance. If I am buying I expect to go to where the seller is or chooses. If I am uncomfortable, I would just back out. Some seem to believe they should just not show. As for sales,,,I'm not selling. Every gun I have sold save one I want back. And even that one I believe could have been repaired. I made one deal and asked the man who is local if he would like to meet at the Sherriff's office or police dept. He told me to come to his house. I was a little nervous but went anyway. I met a very nice man, older than myself. he showed me his house his radio controlled airplanes, his HAM equipment. I met his dog, saw a room with many arms. we talked for about an hour and a half. One never knows. mutual respect needs to be restored or society is doomed.

I got a 4 in barrel stainless 608 and a PT 945 stainless also. I'm a .45 ACP nut! the fact that I paid too much is offset by the fact that there were only one of either on GB or Armslist so she gets that and the fact that all guns are high right now.

No matter, I've wanted these two since they first came out and that isn't the topic. I forgot that GB is now charging tax on out of state sales so the total was over what I expected. She didn't complain, when I stopped bidding on one she said the total wasn't bad for two pistols I wanted. She is a saint, these are not "needed" purchases like what I bought last year. These two were purely wants. and now I have to find .357 ammo. Anyone have a suggestion on how I slip that one in?

I have a Browning Baby .25 and an Iver Johnson single 12 gauge and both will be refinished. in 20 years a refinished piece will be worth more than an un-useable rusty paperweight. It looks beautiful, the way it should. let the barn finders keep their high priced junk and enjoy!

this is true. $650 does seem a tad high depending on the model and extras. for a base 1911 I would expect $450-500. with extra mags, aftermarket grips, etc it climbs quickly.

@Worriedman opened this thread to concentrate on the current bill in the governor's hand so the other discussions would not muddy the water. so this will be my last post not directly related to that. ALL children need gun safety/safe handling education. They will at some point most like[y find themselves in the presence of firearms and whether they cared or were interested before that point they NEED the knowledge to prevent accidental shootings. We cannot force parents but it does need to happen somewhere. It should be taught at home as soon as the child can understand but most often is not.

Remember, we must all hang together or we will be hung separately. Yes, I want it all and will continue to push to have our rights restored. Yes, we have to take what we can get but that doesn't mean to be satisfied.
