  1. this is why we have this community, Thanks JayC. I find the state assembly website tedious to navigate.
  2. Haven't been on here long and don't own too many firearms. (does anyone)? I check in here every day and enjoy the comradery. even chat with folks from home. good advice, good deals, good information, good fun, and great people. what more could one ask for? and yeah, gr8smiles and some others are KILLIN' me with top shelf firearms!
  3. those are terrible and deserve better.
  4. I am also curious about this. The pistols I carry are offbeat so buying a premilled slide is out of the question. I also believe it needs to be tried before I commit. Someone previously stated the slides are very expensive. My thought is to buy one of the new SCCY pistols with red dot from factory. If I like it, I can try having one of my slides milled. If it doesn't suit me I can resell the SCCY and not lose much. I had to check out an ad on armslist that pictures a pair of engraved inlaid 1911s. the company that does the work also mills slides. Their work LOOKS exceptional and reviews are good. Sorry cannot remember the website off top of my head but if you see the ad,,,you'll know.
  5. Agreed this should never have been politicized. Doing so gas destroyed confidence and divided us as a nation. Demanding and browbeating people into taking a vaccine is just so wrong. It is a personal decision to be considered with ones own doctor, or not. I no longer fly so that does not concern me but requiring proof of anything from U S Citizens to exercise freedom is unlawful and unethical. kind of like testing, fees and such to vote or own and carry firearms. Hope you do well with this vaccine and with your leukemia.
  6. thanks for the update. never worry about what anyone but you and your doctors opinion when it comes to your health. I'd give you #### but it's too much effort this morning.
  7. I'm going to have to eat crow too. Overweight with COPD My doctor asked me then asked my wife how to convince me. I just don't trust it and REALLY don't trust Fauchi talking out both sides of his face. I'll get it very soon.
  8. I can't imagine what you have described. Welcome to the forum and hopefully welcome to Tennessee soon. True enough Nashville has gotten more liberal. I suspect the next mayor will not be with the show the current mayor has put on. Memphis is also very blue. otherwise, this is a very conservative state. Cookeville or Murfreesboro would be where I would look. Both are college towns and my biased opinion is Murfreesboro covers your needs better. Chattanooga is good too but with Nashville being the hub of the south I would stay close. Internet is excellent around most mid to large cities here. I have ATT fiber optic business level here at the house. We had excellent for the time internet when I lived in Lafayette which is a very small town. Not sure how it is now. Point being, most areas, even rural, have good internet access. Outside of most cities, as long as you have room no one will bother your shooting. Best of luck. And be prepared for humid hot summers.
  9. very long. My parents are buried there as well as brother in law. was very open area last time I went through.
  10. If I don't make it before then, I'll take a dirt nap in Haysville stone is already there.
  11. been to both, I plan to retire to Macon Co. If I live that long
  12. memphis +river...Knoxville=foothills I'm VERY sorry for the confusion, but I'm old(ish)
  13. not sure about too pretty to shoot. but I'm the guy who would drive the wheels off of a one of one vintage movie star multi million dollar green mustang.
  14. I haven't checked today but both the house and senate bills were passing quickly through the various committees. yesterday they had called for removing the requirement of fiscal report from different agencies of the state.
  15. for the fun of it, there is a nice HP that came up on armslist in Knoxville today. $1325.
  16. truly not certain. the wording appears to put the burden of proof on us citizens which won't pass federal court scrutiny so I am taking the wait and see. proof being the background check and required training. if it translates to the same procedure as we now have without the state fees that would fix the proof issue.
  17. somewhat watered down as current permit requires the state approved training.
  18. Channel 2 WKRN Nashville just announced it appears this bill will pass. They then proceeded to interview the owner of a firearms training academy who spouted the exact fearmongering I had written about earlier. We don't need a bunch of people without training running around armed. (not direct quote) I know not all qualified training personnel think or speak this way so PLEASE do not take offense. But this guy is just worried about losing all that state required training money. My local shop now provides the current training free. I agree, everyone should get competency training but it should not be required. Oh by the way, if you look at my previous posts in this thread you will know that I have training. I will revisit where and when I can carry and deploy. We should all keep up to date.
  19. love these. have one saved in my ebay. I like my holo sight, works great for old eyes. with flip ups for back up. just icingon the cake since with my AR pistol I should be able to hit anything in pistol range even without the dot
  20. I used to buy black RUSTLERS for this reason. desk jockey now so none of that matters. when they get too thin for office I retire them to the garage.
  21. won't be me. but someone will no doubt.
