My wife forced me to stop at Wal Marche this morning, and I wandered through the firearms section. They had four 100 round boxes of 12g #8 at $25 per. I bought two, even though I don't really need it. I guess I'm officially a hoarder now.

And note that some 357 loads require magnum primers and others do not. Pay attention to your reloading manuals, as always.

The only snakes that bother me are sneaky snakes. So long as I see them from a few feet away we can co-exist. But those that sneak into my path and only reveal themselves at the last moment are definitely BAD snakes.
-
I put some rubber snakes up on the beams that support the porch roof to deter the barn swallows. One started a nest right next to the snake.
-
I assume that you are single. There is no way in h-e-double-toothpicks that my wife would allow me to wait around to remove a snake from the house. Congrats on the win!

Particularly one who cannot speak English in complete sentences. College educated? I used to love NFL football but I quit watching before politics infested it. I couldn't stand all the commercials breaking up the game. As soon as a bit of continuity begins they take a television time out, and there are commercials before and after every kick or punt. I completely lost interest.

https://americanreloading.com/en/264-midwest-powders They have five, ten, and twenty pound jugs of Midwest 264, which they say is similar to W 572 and suitable for .45ACP and .40. I've never purchased powder from them, but I've had good luck with quick shipping on projectiles.

I'm feeling a bit zomibi-ish this evening. I'm also not at all confident in the death totals listed in the chart above. Just recently the government (CDC) has begun to distinguish between "death FROM COVID" and "death WITH COVID". Somehow I doubt we're ever going to see an accurate accounting of this disease.
-
On the contrary, they're billion dollar business. I just read that the COVID pandemic has created "x" (too lazy to look it up right now) new billionaires in the pharmaceutical industry. I got the vaccine, just as I get the flu vaccine every year and most everything else that my doctor says is sensible. But I see why some people don't want it. And as an aside, I see that CDC is now recognizing the huge difference between "died of COVID" and "died with COVID". An awful lot of those "COVID" fatalities were going to be dead soon anyway. I don't mean to minimize those deaths, but I do mean to maximize the concern I have over the propaganda associated with this outbreak. I'm with ReeferMac in my concern when authority starts using ambiguous, rather than straight-forward, language.

That's odd, I can see the pics just fine. I suppose it's linked onto my computer somehow. I'll delete the photos, which were kinda cool but not worth the trouble.

How so? Can you not see the post?

So six months after the election the COVID emergency seems to be winding down rapidly. Seems that I read some predictions that such would be the case.

I'm sure that many of us agree with you on INFRASTRUCTURE. Unfortunately, we can't trust our representatives to restrict the spending to what would rightfully be called infrastructure. Those ####'s in congress want to include every pet-project and political wish in those bills. There are things that both sides of the aisle can agree on, fixing unsafe bridges, and now hardening pipeline controls, for example. It would be nice if congress would agree on those things and save the LBGT "infrastructure" for another debate.

VERY interesting read! Thanks for sharing that. It makes me wonder why MSM hasn't been providing the full story. Instead we get "news" articles and opinion pieces that belittle us for even daring to think that the virus could have been manipulated by man. I don't agree that function gain testing should be banned; I see great value in it. But I do think there should be international protocols on what can be done and total transparency to international oversight by qualified scientists. Unfortunately, as the article points out, scientists who don't toe the political line now risk loss of funding and ostracism. I suppose everything is political, but science should be the least political of human endeavor.

They really are. I've killed several wild pigs with mine, and it's a fun plinker, too. I can't remember what I paid for it back in the late 70's, but I didn't have any money back then so it must have been very inexpensive. I never thought of it as a "collector's item", but I suppose it's getting there now.

Looks like this lot, too, is from the Italians and has been sitting since the 50's.

why is .38 special so expensive??

Lead's still fairly easy to get at $2.00 lb. You can go on eBay right now and buy all you want. And, for once, shipping's pretty reasonable with the post office's flat-rate boxes. The person who delivers your mail won't like it, though. -
Post a Wanted ad in the gear classification. There seems to be a person [or persons] who knows someone in Texas who can get you anything you want if you pay up front with a gift card.

No, but your confusion is understandable. The first part of your quote simply says that you or I may manufacture a firearm at home, as we always have been able to do. If you're a machinist it's a reasonable undertaking to build a lower receiver and that would not require a S/N. The second part of your quote is directed at FFL holders. If the licensee (gun shop owner) has lower receiver kits in-stock that he obtained before the rule takes effect, he'll have to add a serial number. In addition (as I understand what I read) If you own a pawn shop and I bring in a rifle I manufactured at home to sell to you, then you would be required to give that rifle a unique S/N. I believe that second part is already the law as any FFL holder must run a background check on a buyer and that includes make, model, and S/N of the arm being transferred. It looks to me that another requirement will fall on companies like Polymer 80, who will no longer be able to sell a kit without a serial number and an associated background check. I think that would effectively drive Polymer 80 and similar companies out of business. Few of us are really capable of machining a lower receiver from billet at home. Personally I think it's all a bunch of bogus lawmaking aimed at addressing a non-problem.

Louisville diner standoff with BLM using NAA?

The way I look at it is that I wouldn't want that itty bitty gun pointed at me any more than a biggun. -

Though no lawyer, I believe the accepted standard is "reasonable person." Would a regulation reasonable person have felt sufficiently threatened in that situation to draw and aim a firearm? -
You could do as I did and join the Marine Corps. But Mike's right, if you can hit consistently at 500 meters then it's just a matter of increment.
