  1. I purchased the SDS pistols in both 9mm and .45ACP. Took them to range to break them in. Wow! They ran like butter. Not one failure to feed, stove pipe, or jam. For an inexpensive pistol, I’m impressed
  2. Here ‘tis: JMS Gutter Jeremy Saunders (865) 414-8265 Jeremy09saunders@gmail.com Good luck. Bob
  3. I put gutter guards on my house this year. Getting way to old to climb. Was having the gutters cleaned by a local guy in west Knoxville. He suggested gutter guards. I didn’t want to pay what the big companies get to do the install. He said he would do for a price I though was fair. He went to a building supply place and purchased the aluminum ones like some of the big boys use. He said to stay away from plastic as the sun would do them in. He also tied my gutters back in where they were loose. If you live west, I can if you he information if you wish.
  4. My crew chiefs used it when we were in the swamps of Ft. Stewart, GA. We collected a number of poisonous snakes, which we hung on como wire. We were armed with model 10 S&W.
  5. New to the optics game. I picked up an AR-15 several months back. It’s got all these rails for mounting everything but a death ray. It doesn’t look anything like the the M-16 we carried back in the day. What I would like to now is....what is/are the best red dot/green dot optics I can mount on it. I guess I have relied on iron sights for too long with my Garands, M1A, FN/FAL’s, etc. Thanks
  6. Yeah, +1 on ‘if they have any’’.
  7. Wish you were closer. I scored 5,000 srp’s a couple of weeks ago, but they are Winchester.
  8. I had dealings with Intrac back in the day. They imported 5,000 from the Bavarian police. I picked up 10 each Winchester and Rockolla’s for 125 beans each. It helped my 401k.
  9. I’m with the original poster. I’ve got 50 cal. ammo cans full of .38 special, 9mm, .40 cal, and .45 acp. I reload.
  10. Good luck. Guys that buy these tend to keep them. My M1A was built up by the Alabama National Guard Marksmanship Unit. Glass bedded with all the right parts. It will shoot way better than me. Should let it go as I never shoot it but just can’t.
  11. If coating the bore of barrel, stellite or chrome might be a better choice. Unsure what that will do to the diameter of bore.
  12. Just read today where copper prices have increased dramatically due to clean energy. Demand for copper for electric transmission and such and the time required for mines to increase ore production will keep copper at higher prices per ton. So, FMJ bullets may come around again but not like the ‘good old days’.
  13. ReeferMac, Got a coal shovel and a pickup? At Knob Creek we hired a local Boy Scout troop and rented a dumpster just to get rid of brass. When you send a million rounds down range in an afternoon, it do pile up.
  14. Well, you mentioned class III. All Knoxville ranges I know off don’t like beltfeds. Sub guns can be fired on some indoor ranges. The big boy stuff requires a short ride. Guess why they call me Beltfed.
  15. I’m a west Knoxvillian also. Pm me if you wish to know where to fire autos and the rest. Are you a Knob Creeker?
  16. Papa61, please consult an expert in older firearms before you pull the trigger on refinishing. If you just want pretty, that’s one thing. If you’re concerned about value, that’s another. As the old saying goes, “Its only original once”. That’s what collectors of old firearms are all about.
  17. Hate to bust your bubble. An unfinished or original pistol like yours is worth more than the very nice looking pistol you have now. I have run a refinishing shop for many years and tell the customer it’s worth more if I don’t touch it on some firearms. I know you don’t plan on selling it, so it’s a mute question. Enjoy.
  18. Thanks, I didn’t know that.
  19. Powder Valley has nothing but black powder. Just checked
  20. You might try DW Sporting Goods on Alcoa Hwy. Bob is a good joe.
  21. Anyone know if SDS Import is still in business and open? Thanks
  22. I don’t know. When the Dillon first came out, they said a1000 pounds per hour. Now, everyone knows than’s unrealistic. But it will chug along a a reasonable rate. Stoppages are common for us who use mil brass. I like the idea of removing the stoppage before more major problems arise. I go slow to make sure everything is as it should be. One evening of reloading will give you more rounds than you can shoot. Plus, this new machine will not reload .30-06, my favorite.
  23. Correct on the roller handle. I think I tossed my ball handle.
  24. My advice after loading for 30+ years. Purchase a led light that mounts in the center hole of the tool head. It will help greatly with visual inspection.
