for-sale Winchester model 290 REDUCED 270.00 SOLD!!!!

Can't see squat. -
I wasn't aware of them until I saw this thread. I've seen their Beretta copies & they weren't awful or anything. Slightly unrefined but their price reflected that, so it wasn't like they were overpriced, IMO. A quick look in GB showed none of their HP's were listed, so you must be spot-on about their availability. I too am going to wait for a SA model to find me. I've already got two spare mags & grip screws for new G10 style grips. Haven't gotten the grips yet though.

Story My concern is Biden is going to be looking for ANYTHING to hang his hat on in order to deflect away from his 30% approval rating. Whether it's the Ukraine issue or something domestic like gun control, he's going to latch onto something. Certainly Governor's in anti-gun states are also always looking for the newest-bestest thing to hang their hats on, be it licensing, one-gun-a-month purchasing, mandatory training or this "safe gun" crap. Thankfully, TN isn't one of those states but the urban bastions of gun haters in Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville & Chattanooga never let an opportunity go by, IMO. (Nashville, Memphis & Knoxville have all banned gun shows from city-owned property, for example.) I urge everyone to read the linked article as well as some of the other articles linked to the featured story. It's not surprising to see how the MSM has bent over backwards to applaud these so-called "safe guns" despite their utter failures in performing. There's going to be a strong push for them sooner or later & we honest gun owners need to be educated on the front end in order to not sound like the NIMBY bunch we too often see & hear. I, for one, am ALWAYS going to counter this proposal with making it mandatory for Federal Agents to be the first ones to use these. Make sure the politicians whom have armed body guards have only guns with this modification. Ditto for the FBI, US Marshalls & Secret Service. While we're at it, the armed security that protects celebrities while the celeb touts gun control for the unwashed masses. I would hope the media would have a hard time disagreeing with the law enforcement agencies being the first ones to use these, but who knows? Again, please take a few moments to read the article. It's very short and informative.

New to Blount County - Auto Insurance Recommendations?

They will drop you like a hot rock if you file a claim with them, I've heard. -
Eh, I've learned to listen to those whom have gone before me on a product. I've been burned several times buying a product that didn't measure up to my expectations once I began to use it. Not just guns, but lots of things as simple as a toaster or coffee maker. While I'm glad to hear your Taurus 1911 has given you excellent performance, I also note they're exceptionally rare in gun shops & gun shows these days. Not sure why either?
-
I admit to not reading the reviews. I only looked at the star ratings. When buying something on-line I will often read the one-star ratings just to see what they say. But shouldn't this gun have more than only two ratings? Seems odd to me.

Uggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ................................

It would appear to be a bit of a challenge to reload quickly, IMO. Seems to be a well-built gun though.

Did not know that, thank you. It is now employed.

His delivery style reminded me of Steve Wright. Slow, deadpan delivery style. Never screamed or raised his voice. Kind of the anti-Sam Kinison (who I loved).

New to Blount County - Auto Insurance Recommendations?

I found my best rates with Shelter Ins. They also have agents all over TN. State Farm gave me the highest quote out of about 4-5 companies. Wasn't impressed. -
I am the opposite. I've never held an Alexander AR, so I can't comment on them. I have held a complete Franklin lower & almost bought the thing. Probably should have as it had the binary trigger. It was well built, no machine marks that I could see. No rattles, that sort of thing. No clue what price your buddy is quoting, but it seems you're good to go on either brand. Perhaps the determining factor(s) might be things such as barrel length, front sight post or not, fixed stock or adjustable, that sort of thing? Post some pics if you can?
-
The link you provide shows it to have a 3 star out of five rating from customers. Not exactly inspiring, IMO. Given this one's low rating, the high price, ugly design & deviation from the original on the FN model, the SA model seems to be the no-brainer choice on the market. No one ever accused SA of being stupid.

Those guys won't sell a dozen the first year, IMO. The Desert Eagle has a lock on that market, not to mention the availability of lots of extra mags. I have the .357mag version, super good gun.

No argument there. But I'm puzzled with the stalking-like behavior he exhibits. The childish name calling is........................... just childish.

Everyone knows he was in Rocky Horror Picture Show, but his best movie was "Pass The Ammo", IMO. He was a wonderfully talented person. -
Story Perhaps the most surprising quote of all: So CA officials decided bike shops were "essential" but protecting one's home & family weren't? Not to mention the mail-order ban on shipping ammo to private individuals? In short, they hamstrung decent law abiding citizens from replenishing their ammo as well as buying any sort of firearm. Clearly the officials valued thugs lives more than honest citizens' lives, IMO. This is a rare victory for gun owners in CA, IMO. I also note it took an appeals court to make the correct decision rather than a local court, probably with elected judges.

Hell, it's only money...............................

Why not? What would stop it?

Without the rail, that'd look good, IMO. Not too sure about the straight trigger though?

Story While I think this bill might slow down an over zealous DA (Nashville, Memphis, etc), the chances of this bill passing both chambers are somewhere between ziltch & squat. One doesn't have to be Carnac to know who will vote against it, i.e. the usual suspects. I'm not even sure it will get out of committee, much less see an actual floor vote.

All that is something kids today will never know. Sad.
