  1. But demand drives the market. Demand for trucks are at an all-time high. Not so much for lever actions, IMO. I don't know too many under-40 types who give a fat furry rat's behind about lever action rifles. They're all about the tacticool types, IMO.
  2. I have a 63 that runs perfect. I bet yours was ammo related, it shot "dirty" & locked up the cylinder with trash. It's not unheard of with .22 guns in general. Of course if the problem persisted with multiple types of ammo, then the gun may have had too tight tolerances? Sorry you had to lose a nice shooter.
  3. Yes, I know it's not TN but I think it's still newsworthy. The USSC has ruled the police have a right to lie to a suspect in order to solve a crime. However, should a suspect return the favor and lie to the cops, he/she will be prosecuted for doing so. I strongly feel this is both an unjust and horrible ruling, but the USSC didn't ask my opinion. While I'm sure we can all be in agreement to support the local police, I find it feeds the anti-police movement. It casts a bad light on all police when this sort of thing goes on, IMO. One case had a forged report entered in trial as evidence. Is this how honest cops believe they can earn the public's trust? Regardless, one can make up their own mind on this sort of thing. Story
  4. No, you're not reading it correctly. It's anything above 9mm: .40S&W, 10mm, .44spl, .44mag, .45LC, .45acp, etc. Not just .50AE or whatever.
  5. I've used S&W's warranty one time & they took wonderful care of me. It too was a brand spanking new PC revolver. How it got past their QC is beyond me as the problem was immediately noticeable to anyone who knew squat about revolvers. But they fixed it pretty quickly (back then).
  6. I thought they had converted most or all of the old ones to data files? I got out in 1982, FWIW. I keep my copy in my safe. I also scanned it & have it in my computer.
  7. And what happens when the battery is dead? How will recoil affect the circuitry? It has to shake it loose sooner or later. No, I want the Secret Service, the Capitol Police, FBI & US Marshall Service to be the first ones with this. I want the moron politicians who dream this chit up to be the ones "protected" with it.
  8. Can you not go to the VA office in the Nashville Federal Bldg & have them print you one off? Or is that just wishful thinking?
  9. Fresh off the BATFE web site. This list does NOT include imports, only domestic production.
  10. Yes, counties. I was referring to State level. Sorry I wasn't more clear.
  11. Well, there was the occasional prisoner who would just take off. Doesn't look good. "We" didn't get soft-hearted, it was the SJW types who thought actual work was demeaning & inhumane. Judges too often sided with them as well.
  12. You're asking to apply logic to a group of non-logical people? Puh-leeze!
  13. It's been failing for over 30 years, across both sides of political divide. Pick a time period, it doesn't matter who was in office, it was a failure. Everyone eventually gets replaced in the Gov office, along with their cabinet. The problem still persists. What needs to be done? What needs to happen to make the folks in charge make some changes aside from throwing ANOTHER $1 bil at it??????
  14. No argument, but isn't society failing by not holding their feet to the fire to make the kids pay attention? To make them behave? And once the kids hit 18, they're adrift with no job, no job skills, unable to read & write, so what then? I don't have an answer but the prisons are full of those former kids in Memphis.
  15. No, because my county isn't getting a cool $1 bil wasted on their schools. Although I admit my local schools leave a LOT to be desired on test scores. Mostly because I don't have kids is why I don't get involved in school board issues. Good or bad, that's how I'm rolling.
  16. All the more reason to make them work it off via work crews, IMO. Mowing grass, picking up trash, cleaning govt bldgs, etc. all could be used to save the Govt some $$$. Problem is, no one will allow it. Not the State, not the ACLU, not the handwringers.
  17. No argument there. But unless they're of a violent sort, they should get decent treatment, yes?
  18. Sadly, no coffee today. But there's a huge difference in someone pointing a gun in your face for your car/wallet/cell phone/etc & someone busted for slinging weed, IMO. The former deserves a shot in the face, the latter does not. This response was about the "no visitors in prison" comment. Again, unless they're violent, they're still human beings.
  19. This isn't politics as I see it. Fault doesn't lean on one party in particular. This has been a mess over both parties being governor's & their Dept of Ed chiefs. Nothing changes regardless of which party is in charge. Neither party has grabbed the bull by the horns.
  20. The look on Saban's face on the pick-6 was priceless! Bama left 2-3 TD's on the field when had to go for FG's, IMO. Of course GA had a lot to do with that but Bama had some bonehead plays called deep in the red zone, IMO. GA QB played the worst game of his life, I bet. Bad reads, bad throws, bad play calls, he did it all for 3/4 of the game. Thankfully he got unscrewed enough to make some excellent plays. I kept screaming at the tv for GA to go to a no-huddle offense in the first half, just to throw Bama off their stride some. GA had (I think) ONE yard rushing in the first half. ONE. The no-huddle would've given them some better options with not giving Bama enough time to analyze the formation(s) & so forth. But no one asked my opinion.................
  21. Unless they've murdered someone, they're still human beings. Despite their punishment(s), they still deserve to see their families, IMO. One needs to remember, these guys get out eventually. You want them all worked up, P/O'd at the world because of how they got treated in prison? How well you think they're going to adapt to society with that attitude? Most of the prison guys are either dumb as dirt or have very little education. Teach some of them a trade (construction, culinary, etc) & they'll get a decent job. Of course, you'll still have your pissants who will revert back to crime.
  22. I think all LEO's should be required to use so-called "smart" guns. Begin with the Secret Service & go out from there. See how well the politicians like them then.
  23. No, the slide looks different. But seriously, this IS a joke for those whom haven't figured it out yet. I don't know anyone at Glock nor would I want to. I don't own any Glocks, nor would I want to. Just thought I'd have some fun, which I did.
