  1. Tennessee spent nearly $1B on underperforming schools program, data shows it's not working Story Think about that. Out of a 100 kids in these schools, only 4-5 can read at grade level. 4 or 5. And this is not the "grade level" of generations gone by, this is the "new & improved" grade level reading. What kind of life are the other 96% going to live? Drug dealing? Stealing? Having 6-7-8 kids with no job? Why isn't the media ALL over this? Where's the shame of society failing these kids? (By society, I mean politicians, the media & local churches.) Why is this tolerated? Why isn't the Memphis/Shelby Co mayors raising hell about this stat? How in gods name can a child be expected to fill out a job application if they can't read & write? How can they read instructions on running a piece of machinery if they can't read or write properly? How can they acquire a driving license if they can't read the test? Balance a check book? Pass a technical school? Why aren't there protests & marches demanding a better society for these kids?
  2. Story 15 !@#$% years old & he's holding a loaded gun to people's heads to steal their cars? WTF?????? Someone should take this animal out to the boonies & put him down. He's proven he's worthless to society. He also pistol whipped (the media loves using that phrase) the car's owner. Edgehill has traditionally been one of Nashville's highest crime areas & this goober is "surprised"??????? What rock has he been hiding under? They start shooting those little bastards in the face & they'll quit robbing people. But there's a lot of "gentrification" going on there with the hip urban crowd. They can buy a house much cheaper in the Edgehill area & then they pretend they're living in Green Hills or something. Liberals need reminding once in a while that there's very bad people in their little world. It's not all rainbows & unicorns in the inner city. 15 !@#$%^ years old & he's now done multiple car jackings. Can anyone imagine what that little turd was like in school? You think his teachers enjoyed watching him walk into their classroom(s)? Would any decent person want their son or daughter around this turd in school? What the blank is a 15 year old doing with gun as well? Where & how did he get it? Steal it? This is absolutely insane. Sadly, this seems to be more & more the norm with Nashville inner city crime. And too many Nashville residents become victims of dangerous crime because they don't want to appear judgmental or some stupid thing. Had the car driver or one of her passengers been armed, this very likely wouldn't have happened. But that's not acceptable to the SJW crowd.
  3. Apparently there's also an additional new release: the Glock 7! Reportedly to be THE smallest 9mm ever made, which looks like it, IMO. This one seems to be also a prototype as it doesn't have the Glock sights on it.
  4. [shrugs] Just repeating what I was told. I don't reload so I don't know these obscure calibers.
  5. I didn't save the hammer pic, sadly. You can see the safety lever on the side. Striker guns don't use lever safeties, only hammer guns do.
  6. 30x19 is the metric listing. Basically it's the Tokarev round/caliber. The background on the caliber: The Tokarev is a bottlenecked cartridge, somewhere along the lines of 9mm +P ballistics. I'm thinking this might be a European-only model for a while? That's why it's listed as a 30x19?
  7. Not on this one. He mentioned how tight it was, so it's either lok-tite or cross threaded. All your proposal will do is break the drill bit off.
  8. Didn't know he was still alive. I watched his show as a kid. Thought it was weird he talked to the camera & then others did it decades later, i.e. Bernie Mac. Bob Denver (Gilligan) got his start on that show too.
  9. I agree with the left-hand drill bit. The screw is most likely too small for using an ez-out of any type? Applying some heat to the slide is out because it would ruin the finish, IMO. Most likely S&W will trash it & just send you a new slide asy. Please allow me to say this wouldn't have happened had you purchased an H&K.......................
  10. Gaston is just as senile as Pedo Joe these days. Don't listen to him.
  11. AK owners, have you often thought 7.62x39 just wasn't cutting it? Wanted a bit more Hp, like a true American? Gents, do I have THE gun for you!!!!!!! Introducing the G3-47 in 8mm Mauser! No more getting ridiculed by the .308 guys at the 400 yard line! Heck, you may even have more range than they do now? Don't let this one slip you by!
  12. Actually, you want a gun smith & not an armorer, IMO. In the Nashville area, there's two main gun smiths. Jeff Walle (pronounced "Wally") at Guns & Leather in Greenbriar. He works part-time, like Wed -Sat? He's been smithing for over 30 years now. Used to shoot competitively in multiple disciplines, so he knows what shooters want. Another smith works out of Franklin Gun Shop, in (duh!) Franklin, TN. I don't know his name but he too has been doing it for over 30 years. Sorry I couldn't help more. Maybe someone else will come along with better options? Good luck!
  13. Memphis. Memphis is always the answer for where to go to go shoot......................... Seriously, given that you're in the Cookeville area, I would think the Oak Ridge range is what you're looking for. I could be wrong but I recall they have a 1000 yard line there? Membership is reasonable but I've never applied, so there's that too. I would imagine once you've enlarged your social circle a bit there you'll find a connection for some property to shoot on. I'm sure there's other long distance shooters around there, There has to be, IMO. Visit the local gun shops, schmooze a bit, see what they can tell you for options? Tullahoma host 1000 yard matches but they don't allow casual shooting unless that's changed in the last few years. The range is on Arnold AFB. Good luck!
  14. Due to my dazzling personality and charming good looks, someone I know VERY high up in Glock sent me this. This is a pre-SHOT Show pub shot, so don't get too caught up in the quality of the pic. Caliber is 7.62x25, which is indeed surprising, IMO. However, that's not THE biggest surprise. It has a HAMMER! Yes, gents, a Glock with a HAMMER! (Which is why you see the safety lever on the side there, duh!) Not sure how well the caliber will sell though?
  15. Then stop beating a dead horse. Also stop splitting hairs over semantics. Everyone agrees you did in fact ask about a rumor. Everyone agrees there's no such rumor in any shape, form or style. I urge you to just stop this thread before it goes into the ditch any further, IMO.
  16. Perhaps her new car warranty needs renewed?
  17. True for everything from cars to clothes to women..........................
  18. And you didn't buy it???????????????????????????

    Snow!

LOL! No, it won't. First of all, new valves don't use rubber valve seals anymore. Silicon doesn't get "cut" buy water. Secondly, water dripping doesn't generate enough velocity to "cut" a rubber seal. Water HAS to have high velocity in order to act as a cutting agent. Most likely your seal was buna rubber & was old to begin with. New replacement gaskets should be silicon rubber (unless you buy at Wal-Mart) & last for decades. Drip on freely, gents.
  20. I had a bid in on a Marlin lever in .35 Rem caliber. I stopped at $600 but with like 5 hrs left it was up to $699 or so. Then this morning I looked to see the selling price. It ended up at $792. That seems to be the average price for the average used lever action these days. I need to find a guy going through a divorce. LOL!

    Snow!

Put a wash cloth or dish rag in a ball, under the water drip. You won't hear a thing.
  22. Would there be a possibility of selling the arm brace with the gun as well? If so, price please?
  23. I may or may not let these go, depending on the price. I don't have boxes nor paperwork for any of them. I think all have rosewood finger groove grips on them now. I no longer have the original grips. Model 586-4, 4"bbl, no-lock model. Make me an offer. I'd say it's somewhere between 96-98%. I can do pics if your price is decently close. Model 17-4, 4" bbl. Again, 96-98%. Model 14-4, 8-3/8" bbl. (I'm pretty sure I still have this, but don't take that as gospel, please.) Let me know if you'd want pics on any of those & we'll go from there.
