    Dad Gift

That's a beautiful Roy rifle. Definatly put it in a sock, I keep my nicer wood rifles in them and the A5 my grandfather had.
  2. Heading to the lease this weekend to pull sd cards. Gonna plant 2 food plots, hang a couple new stands and fill the feeders for the last time before the season. Hope I have some good bucks to share with y'all.
  3. Very nice, I have the blued version that belonged to my great grandfather, then my grandfather. I got it after his passing last July. I've only took it out once but like Stumpy said, it shoots very high.    I'd probably just give dad the cash for it and stow it away.
  4. I signed it this morning when Hickok45 posted the petition on twitter. Seriously, why wouldn't we let the men and women who defend this country carry? I bet these cowards wouldn't attack our soldiers if they knew they were all armed.
  5. I had a '72 model that I used for several years. I loved that rifle but for some reason traded it off. I recently ran across an '81 model that looks like a new one. It cost me but I brought it home. It is hard to beat the 35Rem, especially in a Marlin, for close range deer hunting. I usually carry my 308 or 6.8SPCII but I look forward to getting the 35 back out this fall.
  6. Picked up a Valor VBob back in the spring. I've only got about 500 rounds thru it but it's been flawless. I had only owned Kimbers and Springfields till then but the DW blows them away in for and finish.
  7. I've been happy with my Brimstone trigger, but it you want the best, nothing beats a Kidd.
  8. If I remember correctly Prices had it marked $479. Wished I would have jumped on it but my wife may divorce me if I bring another gun home. She paid for the SR22 for my birthday so I figured I shouldn't push my luck. BTW Grabagun has SR22s for $275 if anybody else is interested. They are $344 locally plus tax and bgc. http://grabagun.com/ruger-sr22-pistol-22lr-3-5-bl-as-1.html?trk_msg=KR3VAR5VLFEKBCUJS4O04FR0E0&trk_contact=8FFI6VFMEH76ABA819TCNMGMNG&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=http%3a%2f%2fgrabagun.com%2fruger-sr22-pistol-22lr-3-5-bl-as-1.html&utm_campaign=CZ+Scorpion+Giveaway+-+SR22+Blowout+-+10%2f22+Trigger+-+1911+Super+Savings+and+More! John we need to get together and shoot since we are so close.
  9. Awesome, I've had 2 33's and I will never part with my 19. Glocks will grow on ya, I had 8 at one time. I plan on adding a 30s and a 43, almost bought a 43 at Prices last week when I was picking up my SR22.
  10. My last couple of orders arrived in about a week. Seems like they've gotten there act together.
  11. Saw two groups of water sales like that on the river the other day. One ball had 4 or five snakes in it and the other had 3. Snake orgy!
  12. Nice, I need a 17 to go with my 19.
  13. If you do go with the DW, you will not be disappointed. I absolutely love my VBob.    I carry a G20sf anytime I'm at the lease or during deer season, so I'd pick up a g29 and be happy.
  14. Congrats, I'd love to have a 1911 in 10mm.
  15. My first and second 1911 were Kimbers, mainly because of the name. Everyone reconizes the name. After doing a little research and a lot of reading on here and 1911forums my last 1911 was a Dan Wesson. Seems like to get a better 1911 than DW you must step up to a Wilson, Nighthawk, ect..
  16. I personally like the Blackhawk convertible. The ability to shoot cheap 9mm is worth alot in my opinion. The larger frame would probaly be more comfortable to shoot full power 357s out of also.
  17. Gonna be hard to beat the Ruger Sr1911 and the Springfield Range officer for a first 1911. You get alot of bang for your buck with either. Alot of people seem to like the Rock Island 1911s also.
  18. So sorry to hear of your loss, prayers lifted for your family.
  19. I bought my wife an PSA upper for Christmas, and I've probably built 10 lowers from PSA parts kit. I am very pleased with PSA stuff. I've heard mixed reviews on the PTAC line they also sell but never had any personal experience.
  20. I had a sr9 and wife carries an sr9c, both have been fantastic guns. If the 45 is as good as they are you better jump on that deal.
  21. Good luck and prayers on the way. I went thru something similar last year at 30yrs old and again recently. Was working long odd hours at work, just miserable. Started having numbness in my fingers. Got scared, looked up symptoms of a heart attack. Started worrying about it and before long was having chest tightnes, light headed, ect... Ended up having a 2 ekg's, a stress test, and an echo. Cant find any problems with my ticker. Even had a CT scan on my head for the light headedness and no problems. All the docs say its anxiety related. On the plus side Ive dropped 30lbs and eating much more healthy. It also put the fear of God back in me. Got me back into church and trying to live better.
