  1. That's a shame. I might not care to frequent the place, but I hate to see anyone have to go through that.
  2. I've did a 10/22 last winter to have a dedicated 1:9 platform for Aguila SSSs. Didn't take more than a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. It's actually amazing to compare the difference between the factory cast receiver and this billet one.
  3. 1977 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. Great old truck. Fold down jump seats and kick vents are highly underrated.
  4. I think Mitt Romney has about as much chance of beating Obama as he does of being elected the next pope. I don't like him. That said, I don't think his campaign has much chance at a national level when his staff can't even come up with an appropriate strategy to get enough news out there that even on the morning after three primary wins, 6 out of 10 of the top sites in Google when you query his last name are related to sodomy and beastiality.
  5. $1799 for a MacBook Pro and $99/year for a developer account. A lot of good free resources online to help you learn. Design that cool app you wish you had on your phone. That leaves you $3000 for education, training or whatever. If it's me and my business, and we've got surplus money - it's going to training and furthering our expertise. It always pays off. That said, I just spent three days pressure washing my deck. It's hard work that I bet a lot of people would pay good money to have someone else do for them.
  6. Nice! I bet that was a lot of fun.
  7. Great looking belt. I've got a couple of his pocket holster for a micro eagle, and they are both top notch work. Robert is great to work with.
  8. Bass Pro generally has them in stock. I've got one you're welcome to borrow for a while if you want to try one first. I've not used mine since I got a Tri-Angle Sharpmaker a couple of years ago.
  9. Yours too?

    Body Armor

Mind you, I use my armor professionally on a fairly consistent basis, but wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again for personal use. I see it as a sort of insurance. I can wear my Level III armor under a fitted dress shirt, and the causal observer can't tell that I have it on. I wear mine to the range on a regular basis. We've all seen stupid people at the range. I don't see any reason to die because some fool NDs a round across the range. Worn inside a carrier, if something goes bump in the night, I can have it on in less than 3 seconds, and have a totally integrated system at my disposal. I have my weapon, light, extra mags (pistol and carbine) and a blow out kit all at the ready. It's pretty dang convenient, and changes the odds a bit. I wouldn't want to take a round in the vest, but I'd much rather catch one in the vest than take one exposed. I've got a family to take care of. I see a vest just the same as I do a weapon. It changes the dynamic of a bad situation more to my favor. If you're really concerned with personal defense, armor needs to be considered as a concentric layer of defense.
  11. The top breaks were a limited run that I don't expect to see any more of anytime soon. They're commanding a pretty high price on the secondary market. I run with a 1 5/8 mini in .22WMR. It's a great little piece of American engineering.
  12. With modern powders and primers your primary concern needs to be humidity control. They can both stand a wide range of temperatures over a long period of time so long as you appropriately control the moisture. I'd skip the refrigerator and invest in some good rechargable dessicants.
  13. Am I the only one that it worries that they could easily use that same tech to drop a 500 pound JDAM on you at the drop of a hat? Glad you got your phone back, though.
  14. I've got an all Kidd gun built on an 80% receiver that I did a year or so ago. My experience with Tony has been great. His triggers are worth every penny.
  15. We took these to a church potluck tonight. Pretty good stuff.
  16. It's likely someone we've banned recently trying to cause some trouble.
  17. Almost certainly one of our recently banned users out to create trouble.
  18. I carry a Kimber Warrior with a Surefire x300 in a Raven Concealment Phantom LC.
  19. Nice looking knife. congrats.
  20. Beretta haters, especially 92 haters my be worse than Glock haters. The 92FS is a reliable, accurate platform.
  21. I've dealt with tactical solutions customer service in the past and had their president return my call. I had an early model upper fo which they sent me a newly designed bolt carrier group. He even called back a few days later to ensure that it solved my problem. I have bought several of their other products since knowing that they really stand behind them.
  22. As long as he's not running a buffet, I wouldn't worry about him showing up.
  23. I know a guy who does passive heating with some. They've got a greenhouse that's maybe 8x10 on the back side of their house. At the suggestion of their architect they put 4 or 5 barrels to collect rainwater up against one of the walls. The greenhouse has a window into their unfinished basement that they open during the winter. Those barrels collect enough heat during the day that you can feel the heat coming in the window at night. I don't know how much it reduces their heating bill, but their basement sure is a lot more comfortable.
  24. While they're not exactly cheap, new barrels aren't but about $70 in either poly or steel.
  25. That's interesting information. The guys I know haven't had their barrels for more than a year. Maybe one hand doesn't know what the other is doing?
