  1. No worries. Yes. Same on both ends.
  2. No, most new monitors have a USB-C input. It’s a straight USB-C cable.
  3. It looks like the current generation Spin laptops have a USB-C port. I'd try plugging the monitor in with a USB-C cable - and of course making sure that whatever monitor you get supports that. I don't know if you're getting out and about - but if I was comfortable masking up - it might be worth going and taking your laptop with you and plugging it in and seeing the results.
  4. Not at all. I run two 4K monitors at their native resolution with a 2015 MacBook Pro. I think the issue you were experiencing with the text was that your monitor was at a higher resolution (4K) than your Samsung laptop could support via that HDMI cable (1080i?). It was doing it's best - but wasn't up to the task. I think if had you manually set the monitor's resolution lower, the issue would have gone away. I don't know what other display ports that Samsung has - I'll try to look at the specs today. I'm more familiar with the Mac end - and the MacBook Air can drive 2 4K monitors or one 5K monitor with no issue.
  5. Yes, clamshell mode on the Mac is just plugging it in via the USB-C cable and leaving it closed while running an external keyboard and mouse and monitors. I've got essentially the same setup as TripleGGG - I just don't need the docking station since my keyboard and mouse are bluetooth connected and my monitors daisy chain off one another - so monitor two is plugged into monitor one which is plugged into my laptop.
  6. I like big monitors - but you can scale down as fits the space: https://www.amazon.com/LG-32UN500-W-Compatibility-Virtually-Borderless/dp/B08FPLLX6Y/ You can also probably find a cheaper 4K monitor with all the Black Friday stuff - but this is a quality monitor - so is the 27".
  7. I think the issue you experienced with fuzziness on the monitor with the Samsung is likely due to it not being able to drive a full 4K monitor well via an HDMI cable. I think you'd need to dial back the resolution. If the MacBook Air is a 2019 model - you've got a couple of Thunderbolt 3 ports - and that machine will drive at least 2 4K displays at a higher refresh rate than the Samsung would. Were it me, and I wanted to keep my total spend less than $1000, I'd buy a couple decent 4K monitors, an external keyboard and mouse - and just use it in clamshell mode. That way, you can run both monitors at a depth of field that suits you - and you don't have to worry about looking back from one screen at one resolution to the other. If you prefer Windows to MacOS, you could always install it via Bootcamp and even boot to Windows by default. Or, if you just want a Windows machine to boot as desired - you could do it like we do and run VMWare Fusion - at which point you can just run a Windows machine basically as an app.
  8. That's a gen 2 rail. Is your charging handle ambidextrous? My gen 1 is not. It's kind of table stakes - but it's not unheard of to get a bad heat treat on a batch of pins.
  9. I get out of my depth here pretty quickly - but one of the antibodies Immunoglobulin M develops very quickly after infection - but is not long lasting - maybe lasting weeks in the system. A second antibody immunoglobulin G develops later and is somewhat more durable and longer lasting - lasting months or years in some cases. It is still unknown as to what protection these antibodies will offer against reinfection. Because of the above questions as well as the chances for both false positives and even false negative in some cases, it’s generally recognized that a current Emergency Use Authorized serological test is more of a curiosity than an actual diagnostic test.
  10. It depends on the assay used to some extent. This one required a full blood draw and tested IgM and IgG. I believe I had COVID back in February - two flu test were negative - but had all the other symptoms - thus the antibody test. The test came back negative. My doctor said that it would be highly unlikely to find antibodies after that period of time with COVID - but she wanted to see anyway.
  11. I had the full brain probe test and the antibody test last week. I was so hopeful antibody test would come back positive.
  12. What a cutie. Congrats!
  13. I’ve got an Orvis 5-weight and a 9-weight that I’ve had since I was a teenager. There’s no telling how many fish those rods have caught in the streams and in the surf. There are some great makers these days - more so than the late 80’s when I was getting into the sport. But, I always have a soft spot for Orvis rods. Temple Fork Outfitters puts together some decent kits for a beginner that won’t break the bank. Probably with all the Black Friday sales you can find a good 5-weight kit that’ll serve for a bunch of years.
  14. I can speak to the homeless here in Nashville. We’ve had several cases - and some deaths. Luckily we’ve got some truly great non-profits here that have helped that population manage it like the rest of us have had to. I’m on the schedule to spend the night next week as a part of one of those programs - so I guess you could say I’ve got reason to keep up with the data.
  15. They make some amazing hips these days. I sure wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but my prayers are that she’ll be better than new in no time. Jamie knows this - but do every bit of the PT. And keep it up from here on out.
  16. Prayerful for you, Michael. That’s great news for Lisa. If y’all need anything, feel free to shoot me a message
  17. I was off the grid all weekend, but you were in my thoughts a lot. Get well soon my friend.
  18. My prayers are with y’all.
  19. I would suggest current generation whichever form factor you ultimately decide upon - they seem to last a long time - and future proofing yourself as much as possible by spending a few extra bucks is worth it. The current generation iPad is a great value - especially when you find one on sale for a few bucks off. Were it me - I'd start looking at the Black Friday ads. If you use other Apple products like the iPhone - checking their News app and allowing 'Apple' news always seems to have a roundup of who's got them on sale. The newly refreshed iPad Air is more expensive - but a truly great device. It may be more than she necessarily 'needs'. I love the iPad mini. I've had one for 7 or 8 years. I'd probably wait until the first of the year before buying one if that were the form factor she prefers, as it's due for an update soon.
  20. I am signed up for the vaccine trials. My thought is that I’m healthy with no health conditions of note - so I figured It was a pretty minimal risk. I’ve not been called - though severaL of my colleagues have. I’m able to isolate a bit more than some - so by all rights I should be the last one selected. I’ll certainly take a vaccine when it’s available and my doctor recommends it. Vaccines don’t save lives. Vaccinations do.
  21. The virus is the economy right now. Full stop. I expect we’re heading for another shutdown - whether we like it or not. We’ve had 100k plus cases every day for the last 6 days. 170k yesterday. A month from today, 3000 of those folks will be dead. We lost 2,977 Americans on the morning of September 11 - and it has changed so much about our day to day lives since. I sincerely hope I’m wrong about this. But this time next month we’ll be losing a 9/11’s worth of Americans every single day. It’s going to suck.
  22. Call any CEO of any hospital in America. Pick any one. I assure you that any of them would rather be back to the elective surgeries they were doing before. A knee replacement is probably 10x as profitable as COVID treatments. I’m sure they’re available in the press - I’m on mobile so I’ll have to link later - but our biggest system in middle Tennessee took double digit percentage pay cuts all spring and summer. They’d all rather be doing anything else.
  23. If you do more pregnancy tests - does it result in more pregnancies or fewer pregnancies?
  24. Yes. They’ll try to route people elsewhere - but you can’t stay there because there’s no space. Staff is taxed to the breaking point.
