  1. Is he out of his coma? I haven't had time to catch up on this today...
  2. Looks like more than a wall failed. I wonder if there was a big pump in that room.
  3. I thought Chicago would be #1
  4. I was going to say the same thing...
  5. And there's more. In a couple of weeks we get to watch the taxidermy reality show from Alaska...
  6. When did they put voting stations in the smokies?
  7. In the episode where they made the twin boat guns the dude got caught showing his girl around and not manning the front. When Will called him in he apologized and then started trying to justify it. Will stopped him cold and said: Don't mistake this for a conversation". New favorite line...
  8. I'm in the it is polite to inform group. I got my first ticket in years last week. When I handed my other info over I also handed my permit. This officer was very young and had what I took to be a training officer with him. He asked if I was currently armed and I told him I was. He then walked to the back of the car and spoke to the senior officer and then called it in. He came back, handed me my permit and thanked me for letting him know. I think he was caught off guard a bit but he handled it well. In general he was very polite and professional. Hopefully he will stay that way after dealing with some of the scum he will see along the way. The ticket was total BS but I figure there have been plenty of times that I should have gotten one and didn't so I can't complain. I also think being polite to the officer goes a long ways in a lot of situations. Mark

    Wildcats

Oh, for a minute I thought you were giving my Hixson High Wildcats some love...
  11. adamween, did you see the rest of that episode? At one point he transitioned to an ankle holster. When he pulled the strap it fell straight down into his hand, muzzle pointed up. Maybe that is how everyone else carries their ankle rig but I don't think walking around with the barrel pointed at the majority of my body is the way to roll. Also, he was totally counting on the strap to stay velcroed to keep the pistol secure. Too easy for a stick or something to rip it loose in my opinion.
  12. nice...
  13. The Dillon .357 sig dies are carbide but they are a bit pricey... I ran my first batch through a 40 die and then through the .357 sig dies. The second batch I ran through just the .357 sig dies. I didn't observe any difference except less time. So I am going to skip the 40 die from now on. I've read a lot of conflicting data on how the Lee and Hornady .357 sig dies were configured. There seems to be some debate on where the neck and head space are measured (if I remember that correctly). That and the addition of the Dillon dies being carbide made me go with Dillon dies this one time. I have Hornady or Lee dies on everything else. Mark
  14. ok, before all the campers get their sleeping bags twisted... Start a fire by 2-3 pm. Get a really good bed of coals going. Triple foil wrap some taters and toss near the coals. About an hour later season some ribeyes with season salt and set them on the wire grate as close to the coals as possible. Sear each side for a couple of minutes, raise the grate up and cook to your favorite meat temp. Very tasty. This is making me want to go hitch up the camper right now.
  15. Yep, I will share: Sleep in while wife gets up and plugs in electric skillet outside under the awning. She cooks bacon and eggs. I Wake up just before it is ready, fix a bloody mary and put on college game day to prepare for watching SEC football via the satellite dish... best recipe ever...
  16. I don't know, maybe this is a good thing. Think how many more DEA officers we would have if this had been in place so they wouldn't shoot themselves in a class room...
  17. I like the uplula pretty well. I like the strip lula a lot... For some reason I find it a lot harder to load m&p magazines when compared to my sig magazines.
  18. I was amazed at the lack of decent chinese restaurants when I moved here. I did eat at an ok place in Mt Juliet the other day.
  19. and another vote for the cajun steamer. Great food. Scenery is usually pretty nice as well...

    M&P 9

The pro that I shot had a barrel in it that he is modifying for more accuracy. I don't know how much more work he has to go on it before they get them produced but it was a laser at 15 yards. I've known Randy for a little over 2 years. He is a patient instructor, and great shot and a really nice guy. Mark

    M&P 9

My wife has been shooting Sigs since I do. I've tried to get her to try different types of guns. She shot Glock's and others but didn't like any of them. A couple of weekends back we were taking a class in Birmingham that had Randy Lee (Apex Tactical) as one of the adjunct instructors. He had a couple of M&P's with his drop in trigger kits in them. I shot one for a few minutes and really liked it. It is by far the softest shooting 9 I've ever shot and the trigger was great. My wife spent the last training day shooting one of them and at the end told me she really liked it. Since she doesn't shoot a lot I think not having to worry about the DA/SA transition helped her relax and shoot. So, we ordered a couple of drop in trigger kits. We also picked up a Julie Golog version for her and a Pro 9 for me (after all, she might have a question so I need a gun like hers!) I watched about 45 minutes of videos on youtube and off I went. I am decently mechanically inclined but had never really dug into a gun before. It took me about 15 minutes to do each gun. The only thing I didn't add was the heavier trigger spring. These will be strictly range/training guns for us so I'm not too worried about having a light trigger. The stock triggers were mushy and pretty much sucked. Now there is a very crisp break and the reset is a ton better. If you've been thinking about one of these pistols or kits I highly recommend it. Mark
  22. I don't have a real problem with it except for about 4-5 posts in the talk of a new location had me confused. I've only lived here for 3 years. I was like, I need to figure out where they are now...
  23. Tiger is a good guy. I've enjoyed the classes I've taken with him. I've taken more notes in his classes than any other. Not sure if that is because he gives more time or maybe he just has more note worthy stuff to talk about. Mark
  24. I started to comment on that... My personal experience is that the really good classes are concentrating on trigger control and running the gun. Really high round count classes (with the exception on some truly high speed stuff) are just about sending rounds down range, not becoming a better shooter. Now, I usually carry 10 mags to a class but not to keep up. I just prefer to not have to stuff mags every time I come off the line. I find that just sitting, listening and reflecting of the most recent lesson/course of fire really helps me absorb the training. Mark
