I'm using longshot. If I ever get both brain cells working in tandem I will look up the load info.

When is it time to replace my tumbler media?
Mark A replied to analog_kidd's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
This multi-hour tumbling thing interests me. I usually only go for about 30 minutes at a time. It seems clean and all but the oldest range pickups are fairly shiny. Maybe I'm doing it wrong though... I guess I would need to get another machine as even just 30 minutes at a time I can hardly keep up getting all of my brass clean. Mark -
Montana Gold is what I use. No setback issues here but I've only loaded about 500 so far. I'm having a slight sizing issue that I hope to get resolved soon... I guess I wasn't looking in the right places as I found brass hard to come by and expensive. I have a good stash now though... Mark

That's why I quit going there. I try hard to shop locally. It is a pretty far drive for me to go there and every single time I needed a lead blocker just to get to the register. For all I know those guys spend a lot of money there. I hope so as I won't be any more. Not angry, just don't have time for BS... Mark

I'm fairly mechanically inclined but had never gone past what it took to do a decent cleaning. It took me about 30 minutes the first time. Most of the time was going over the videos a couple of times to make sure I was doing it correctly. The second one took 15 minutes top... Very easy and the trigger feels great. A better end result for me was the removal of the sight upset. With the stock trigger the sight bounced to the right quite a bit. The Apex parts took care of that competely I like the 9L I have. The only thing is that I had so much practice in drawing my 226 that the extra length of the 9L messed me up. It felt like it was a mile long drawing and re-holstering Mark

Surefire 60rd Mag ... Are they out of their minds?!
Mark A replied to TGO David's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I don't want to sound cynical but they may have a high civilian price so that they can have a high military price... -
I have these 3 and have read them all at least twice. I am making my way through Tigers' book for the 3rd time. Each time I read it something else clicks and makes sense. Tiger is an interesting dude. I've only taken 2 classes from him but I have more notes from those 2 classes than I do from all the others combined.

Well worth the money in my opinion. I load a lot of 223 and trimming is the worst part. I was using Forster trimming stuff on my drill press but it wasn't consistent enough. The Giraud trimmer is faster, easier and safer. I boogied through a ton of brass yesterday. Mark

Hotsprings is pretty good. It has been a few years but the jeep club I used to belong to made a club run three over a long weekend. We had plenty of fun. One thing I liked was most of the harder trails had good access at multiple points. So the guys in our club with newer or less capable jeeps could go watch the rest tear every thing up...

I don't own any thing in 45 ACP. I've never owned anything in 45 ACP. Today at the gun show I bought some 230gr bullets and large pistol primers. I have a ton of brass that I've collected over the years. I do fully intend on owning a pistol in 45; I just haven't decided on what yet. I missed a deal on a Sig 220 a while back that I'm still kicking myself about. So, am I totally crazy for buying stuff for a caliber I don't own? Mark

Bill Goodman show at the fairgrounds this weekend
Mark A replied to a topic in Events and Gatherings
I got some reloading stuff as well. I missed David though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Going to this show reminded me why I haven't been in about 3 years... -
Remind me not to hate you too much. I finally found a decent quantity of brass this year. Up till now I've had to really watch the brass to keep it from vanishing. I like .357 sig better than any other standard auto loading handgun round. It hits hard and shoots flat. It is what I carry everyday. it is slower to reload than 9mm but it isn't that big of a deal. Bill Goodman show at the fairgrounds this weekend

I'm going to go if for nothing else than to meet David. He is a good member here & I need to support that. I feel sure he will have something that I need. Mark -
I guess I just don't get the TWRA (of course that seems to be a common theme). Except for a few WMA's there are now no places to sport hunt hogs? If I don't know a landowner willing to give me an exemption I am SOL? Is there going to be a database of who has a landowner exemption? For example: I have a couple of guys that let me hunt coyotes on their land. I'm not a deer or turkey hunter and they know they don't have to talk to me about it. They each have a couple of sons that are avid hunters and those boys have buddies. If I'm out coyote hunting and a pig walks by I just have to let it go? Why can't they just say they are bad and kill one if you see it? Mark

I'm getting this problem a bunch this week. Using firefox on Windows, safari and firefox on my mac and safari on the iPad. It is happening on all of them. I will go through and clean up my cookies but I do that pretty regularly anyway. Also getting an intermittent " the page you are leaving wants to retain data" or some such message. It is new this week also. Not a complaint, just more info to help any trouble shooting that might be needed. Mark

+ whatever on the jeep tours. Some pretty countryside up there. I REALLY hope you are going to make time for the Grand Canyon. It is well worth it. Cooler up that way as well...

Wyatt I appreciate the help. Mark

well, I tried a different browser. Still getting an invalid URL error message. I've posted plenty of pictures here before. TGO and pBase not playing well apparently

If you'd posted this in the hunting forum the problem would probably already be over. As has already been said SSS... Mark

Great, there goes the neighborhood... I mean, come on... Now I have to keep track of 2 different kinds of lies? Mark
