Since it was referred to by nightrunner, I'm curious. Know of anything on the amount of ammo kept at home?

A nice lever gun in .357 and stock some more 38/357 rounds away.

Have to agree. I'd like to run up on one of the carbines as well. Highpoints in general are known for three things. One...they are big and butt ugly. Two...most seem to shoot and function very well. And three, their warranty and customer service has been awesome. I got a C9 in deal several years back and had a few feed issues with it. Called them up and just asked a few questions. They quickly volunteered to work on it for me. I sent it out on a Monday morning and got it back Tuesday of the following week. The pistol had a new trigger assembly and barrel along with another mag. Everything worked fine. Maybe I should've kept it. You could sure spend more on a pistol that is far worse than these.

Yes that would interest me as well.

Yes, truly sad. A very good actor with a magnificent voice.

Eric, beautiful Husky. As far as the op's question and pics; my vote is for a Malmute. Bigger than the Husky and Siberians usually, and this animal seems marked up in that way. Can't lay my hads on the pics right now, but looks just like the Malmute I had long ago. Great loving and protective animal.

There's nothing wrong with Ron Paul. I like most of his ideas and where he stands on personal liberty. But why do this now? He has an infinitismal chance of winning. All his efforts will go toward splitting the hopefully conservative vote and just make it that much easier for Obama to get a second term. As I said, I really like Paul; I'm not anti-Paul. I'd like to see him in the office. I don't think he could screw it up any worse than most. But at this point, the battle is moot. He can't expect to win. He and all his supporters should band together in the effort to remove Obama from the Presidency. Ok. I've said my mind. Don't want to get into a Paul vs everyone fight. Just think it's time to join forces and move forward.

By "iconic" do you mean one that has been around seemingly forever, or one that just sets the standard for all others? In either event, I'd vote as follows 1 Browning Hi-Power and all it's descendants, including the CZ line 2 Glock series 9's because they have become so recognizable as a quality, dependable pistol 3 Anyting else

AlGore calls for end of Electoral College

Tennesseans knew better. We'd had to endure him for too long to vote him president. -
G24, followed by the G22 and the G23.

Yeah, JAB. Steinman's lyrics do hit a cord with most of us. Meat's great voice does them justice. At 64, he is slowing down a bit it seems. Didn't seem to have the power in the vocals as in the past, and maybe not the high range of his younger days; but still has the stage presencse and showmanship that has sustained him for years. As with most live shows, to me anyway, the vocals are drowned out by the volume of the music. I knew it wouldn't be like listening to a recording, but still glad I took the opportunity to see Meat again live. As you'd expect, selections ranged from old to newer songs, with the crowd reaction being the wildest at the well-known staples. And it was an audience singalong for those. Sadly for the young couple in their 30s beside me, I did join in. Did a great encore set finishing with Two Outta Three Aint Bad and we all went kinda wild. Can't say I've ever felt the floors bounce and vibrate in the Ryman from footstomping before. All in all a great experience for me at least. Maybe just an attempt to relieve some old memerories, but some of the best ticket money I've ever spent.

No, not a dinner request. Anyone here go to see Meatloaf tonight at the Ryman? Amazing collection of overage rockers there. Some holding up fairly well, some not so well. Not sure which catagory to put myself in. Anyway, a great show. Drug my wife, who's not a Meat fan, along. About midway thru, she leans over and says "You know I have to love you to come to this with you." Nice sentiment, but no appreciation for Meat's vocals and Jim Steinman's lyrics. But gotta say I enjoyed the heck out of it. Best time I've had since the Blue Man show a few years ago.

Now I'm puzzled. Are scarcasm and humor not allowed any more? -
What he said. I've had both the 40 and the 9 versions. Liked both, but found the 40 a little too snappy for me. The 9 is a good compromise on size/ capacity/felt recoil. For me, it's the carry size that works. For now. There's always something else on the horizon.

Thanks to both Chucktshoes and Sour Draut for educating me on this. Still think it sounds like something out of the Heinlein Universe; just so simplistic in form and phrasing, but so full of meaning.
-
Wise words. When you think it over, it surely applies to the human condition. Who can we attribute that pearl of wisdom to? Almost sounds like a quote from Lazrus Long, aka Robert A. Heinlien. No sarcasm intended or meant...just curious.

Bunch o' jealous sissy frenchies and eurotrash pissed off having an American win "their" sport. -
Bacon, eggs, hash browns, and biscuits for supper tonite. Great!

Check CDNN for prices on the steel bulgarian milsurp mags. Seems like they were around 17 each. I bought some from a member here earlier in the year and they are great.

Will you be at the Hendersonville show? Possibly with some of that PMC 9/223?
-
That's not surprising. I'd get in line as well. But as with others' comments; keep the carbine. No question about it for me.

Wish I still had an LCR to trade you for that 65-5. They are real sweet guns. That being said, I'd vote for keeping the Smith if at all possible. LCRs will drop in price as time goes by. I don't see the 65 going down in price around me. And no, I don't hate the LCR: I've owned 2 of'em. Just never really warmed up to them. They do have a place as a liteweight carry gun, just not in my place. But if possible, wait and save up for the lcr...but that's just my opinion. It may not be what's right for you.
