  1. I got a 40sigma in a trade a few years ago. I didn't keep it because I wanted a 9, but I did test it out. I found it to be as accurate and reliable as about any SW pistol. The worst I can say about it is that the trigger wasn't all that great. Long and gritty to me, but otherwise a good pistol.
  2. I personally favor the G19, but you say the M&P feels better to you. I'd say you've made your choice. BTW, I don't dislike either. I have several Glocks and have been looking at the M&P9c. So I wouldn't say I'm biased either way.
  3. Your pics alone deserve a rowdy "welcome brother." I didn't know my eyes had gotten so bad.
  4. The thought never crossed my mind. A few others however.....
  5. Clean a Glock??? Why I never heard of such. Just stuff it back in the sock drawer and forget about it.
  6. Congratulations. Now you got a mismatched pair. When do you get the next ones? Seriously though, what's that on the OD? A beavertail extension?
  7. Congratulations and a Happy Father's Day to you. "Too Personal"???? What kind of idiot salespeople did your son encounter? In retail, a sale is a sale. That's the persons' job. Methinks this one needs retraining.
  8. Since I didn't see the post being mentioned; I must say that it makes me think it might have been the very famous and well-known "Kentucky Conan" pic. Did I guess right?
  9. "Pads" have been used as a humorous substitute for bandages in movies for many years. Don't really remember when I first saw it; but seems like back in the 80's. And I do believe they've been mentioned in several survival and post-apocolypse books I've read as well. Mainly in fictional readings though, but I have seen references in some emergency first aid practices as well.
  10. Probably might be a bit worse than we got it here in Nashville with VP "Big Al" Gore on his many visits. I kinda hope so.
  11. Souse meat??? Gee you are demented. You ever watch that concoction being made? Brrrr!! Uggg.!! I'd sooner eat scrambled eggs and brains for breakfast. And that's pretty far down on my list.
  12. And must be fresh!! Nothing worse than milk beginnnig to go bad. My wife thinks I'm nuts about it. But then she won't touch bread unless it's perfectly fresh either. And she likes myonaisse, sour cream and buttermilk too. :stunned: There's a little something off with her.
  13. Costco is a dangerous place to be thse days, I guess. Amd now we'll probably see Wasabi Mustard listed on the next weapons ban from the BATFE guys and gals.
  14. Ditto to everything that has already been said. Beautiful job. I'm not a big knife person, but that could make me change my mind.
  15. Same here. It's just a shame that I can't visit the New Tower site/911Memorial now. That place is nuttier than California.
  16. Uhh...Wow.
  17. I personally would have to question his motives on both sides of the argument after reading the short article. The question of motive is still up in the air. Was funding for his film "career" the basis for both?
  18. Sweeet!!
  19. I can sympathize with you on the event. I almost hate to let people handle my guns. Most are like us and respect others' property, but there's still the chance of an accidental drop or the type of old gentleman referred to here. Having been behind the sales tables before, I can say one of my biggest peeves is the little kids that parents let run around the tables and handle and try to play with the weapons. Second would have to be the young teens trying to impress each other with their knowledge and gunplay tecniques. We've started putting out signs to attempt to restrict handling of guns. Doesn't always work, but it is about all that can realistically be done unless you have everthing under some tyoe of enclosed cases. BTW, one of the most idiotic things I had to contend with was a roughly 40 year old guy who gat royally pissed because I wouldn't let him see if the bag of mags he brought in would fit any of the auto in my case. He didn't know what they were for. The mags looked like they just been dug up from a mud pit. Oh, what he wanted to try them in were two in the case. Both mint codition guns. An orginal Colt Commander in 38 super and a nickel Colt 1911 that was one of the prettiest I've ever seen.
  20. Out of curiosity, what do you consider a better compact 45? No disrespect meant or intended, I just would like to know your choices.
  21. Chiming in again, I preface this by saying it's my own opinion, but the Glock compacts as the 19,23,30, etc; are some of the easiest held and shooting pistols I have ever shot and owned. And unfortunately for me, that number is way too high. As for best balanced...I won't totally agree with that, but they sure rate very high for me. But I will say that the few things that feel more balanced in my hands are my Colt O Model and the 3 to 3.5 in barrel compact 1911s.
  22. Daymn, Caster. I got ties older'n you. Suck it up and cut your elders some slack. And be glad you don't get the pat on the butt to go along with it. You know I jest here, I can appreciate your fellings. I get a little antsy when people get too close as well.
  23. You are certainly blessed to have him home with you again, as I'm certain your son feels equally blessed to have such fine parents as you and the old man. And to the lad...Thank You.
  24. Seen this several times, and he still reminds me that some people shouldn't have acess to live ammo and body armor together. It gives them bad thoughts.
