  1. I must admit I have a problem with being "on time." Been that way all my life. I mean well, but things just seem to happen to change the mix. But my father-in-law said something to me years ago, (actually he was chastising me for being late at the time) that had to sink in for a while. I've tried to take it to heart and reform. I do better now, but still have a backslide occasionally. His comment? I think you'll like it. "If you're early... you're on time. If you're on time...you're late." Think about it.

    Opinions on Kel-tec

Evidently they are still in short supply. I've had one since last June/July, can't remember. I'm an old fart now. But I agree with your assement, at least on looks. Definitely looks like a kids toy, and has some resemblence to the FNFive-7. It's a ball to play with. I've put between 400-600 rounds downrange, so I think I've got all the breakin bugs out now. Had a few ftf, and a couple of ejection problems early on, but they seem to have dropped off in the last use. I need to take it back out again and see. The pistol is very light, and has a very nice light trigger pull. Loading the mag to capacity is a real bear. At about 24/25 rounds it really gets tough. I've been stopping at 28 and seems ok. The tumbling/keyhole round situation wasn't a problem for me. Yes it did it. So what? So does 223/556. The barrel change that should cure this issue, I haven't tried. I haven't felt the need. I called Keltec immediately on buying the pistol, and was told that yes, it was in the production range that was deemed to need a new barrel. I got it 3 days later and it's still in the bag. The comments about keyholing from Keltec seemed to indicate that the problem was caused mainly by the 40 grain rounds. I have shot everything from the orginally recommended CCI 40, CCI and Remington 30, Winchester Dynapoints, and Hornady V_Max 30 grain. I find they all will occasionally tumble. Again, so what. This is a range toy, possible squirrel gun, and hiking carry piece. I don't care if it keyholes, but that's just me. Even shot a few of the dreaded Fiochi 22 mags that are supposed to be nixed for the gun. I had no problems with them. But I will admit the Fiochi seems to be a little hotter and dirtier than some of the other brands. And it may be just a smidge more accurate with the Hornady V-Max. But as for accuracy, like most pistols, it is a accurate as I can use. Meaning I'm pretty crappy. But seriously, It's a sweeet little toy. It's not a fine target 22 for bullseye shooting, but it works for me. As far as the availability vs pricing issues, I got mine from D&T when they first got them. Not the best price I'd seen, but far from the 600+ some sellers were trying for. If you get the chance to try one, I think you'd like it. Maybe not enough to buy one, but it'll get you thinking about it.
  3. Good reply. You sidestepped my attempt at humor with grace.
  4. Yeah, they don't usually stay on a shop shelf long enough to be seen by more than 2 or 3 people, if that. And I may not get one for quite a while, but it's not like I don't have a 1911 or anything else to shoot or carry.
  5. But how well do you shoot the G26? :squint:
  6. Really? Thanks, I guess I haven't looked deep enough. I'm one of the dinosaurs who haven't yet adjusted to the new classified format. I'll go search for it.
  7. They are out there, but the prices, unless you scarf one from a good lgs, are from decent to absolutely stupid. Any of the half dozen or so I've seen offered at gun shows have been hovering around the 750-900 range. Once the "shortage" is over, I plan on getting one. And congrats on the find. It looks great.
  8. I'd like to come, but it will be Sunday before I can, so I guess the 66 snubbie will not be available by then. How about a brief description or pics with price and wants?
  9. Typical Obamaesqe behavior. Do it my way or else.

    W.German Sig P226

Nice M&P. As has been said, if you can swing it, keep yours and buy the Sig outright. After 30 years of buying guns, I still regret every one I've sold or traded to get something else. I know it's your choice and your money, but consider it. Especially since the RIA is so new to you, at least that's my take on it. Good Luck.
  11. Ditto to all above comments. Buy more guns. Love them all. Sneak in the house with them...if possible. Avoid the wife when carrying any gun into the house. And buy her something occasionally. Like...honey, I bought you a nice 12 guage coach gun for you to keep beside the bed for the times I'm not here. Might work.
  12. Ya think maybe some drugs were involved here somewhere along the line? I mean...found in a pool of water with a tap up his nose????
  13. Also needs a little coaching in not looking down at her que-cards so much. But she looks really good in the white top.
  14. Congratulations. Wish I could be there, I've always liked JMM, And of course I'd welcome the opportunity to see and hear you peform as well.
  15. "Firing" them, aka removing from office is a great idea, but unfortunately, in most cases the damage is already done; and it seems that undoing the previous officeholders "work" just doesn't happen. I believe we need something like a "Vote of Confidence" in place to allow immediate removal from office, rather than having to endure 2/4/6 years of political insanity. But I can't see it happening in this country.
  16. Neat. Wish I could attend, but already scheduled some family events and work for that date.
  17. Yes, totally irreverant and raunchy humor, but sometimes that's needed. Will have to check my bookstore haunts for possible used copies of his books.
  18. Normally, PPS 9 in IWB or OWB, depending on clothing. And an LCP weakside pocket.
  19. Ok, I've led a sheltered life. Didn't know about Tucker Max. I've just spent the last hour reading some of his exploits and laughing and crying. I think I'm ruined. I added it to my favorites so I can go back again. I'm so ashamed.
  20. I love this. The only better one I can't locate. Maybe one of you guys can help. It's about going to Walmart and having a major malfunction in the pants in the mens room. Anyone remember it?
  21. Definitely better for the old guys with big guts and bad backs. And by that I mean me. At the bottom of the linked page it show pics of the tool on grass and indicates it will work, but no pics or video that I saw.
  22. Braggart!
  23. Try a G30. I think you'll buy another.
  24. Nice. I am tempted.
  25. That's a neat little tool. Kinda makes me want to buy one. What do you think about it?
