    S&W Model 59

I agree, the 59 didn't have the best trigger of the smith guns, but things did get a lot better with the 2nd/3rd generation guns.
  2. Would love to go to a big show like that. Just irks me having to go thru an ffl when I want to make a firearm purchase though.
  3. The application mentions physical requirements. Do you have any idea what is required here? That might just be what would rule me out, depending on the stipulations.
  4. I believe that's the new Ruger 22 pistol, the SR22.

Sweet looking CS you got there, Sonny. I've not owned one, but have given it some consideration. I have though, been the owner of my Dad's nickel 59, as well as a really nice 39-2, and I ran across a fantastic 3913 last year that I just had to have. And the 659 sounds rel good right now. Maybe Caster and I can both find one...cheap.
  6. We have a spring running thru our property and it's real close to the house. You wouldn't believe how close actually. But, with running water, and woods nearby, although I really, really, really have a fear and loathing of snakes; I generally leave them alone as they do wonders in keeping the rats away. But every now and then, one particullarly brave and slithery little critter will decide to take up residence a little too close for my tastes and comfort. Then some measures must be taken...and sometimes the Coopers Hawk family nearby will get a fresh snack. I've actually seen the Hawks snatch one of the snakes off the bank and fly off with it. I like them hawks.
  7. Great piece of gear choice as well.
  8. Ditto. Might just be one to stay away from, unless you were particularlly happy with the Jennings and Bryco line of products too.
  9. Good Work. How do you like the dehumidifier?
  10. Yeah, one of my buddies at Eastside Gun keeps getting in these pink and wild colored guns. Keeps telling evebody I special ordered them. I'm almost afraid to go in when anyones there. Man, buy one pink gun and you're tagged for life.
  11. I gotta show my wife this! I think it will show her I'm not nearly as bad as she thinks.
  12. Little Johnnie must have been a real little pistol.

    Justified

Yeah, a lot has got to happen to resolve these plotlines. Boyd and Limehouse. Boyd and Dewey. Raylan and Quarles. Should be a couple of fast paced episodes all right.
  14. Okay. AK newbie here. Traded for a Romanian WASR10, have a ridiculously low price in it because of a couple of trades that go me into it. I actually paid more for a case of 7.62x39 ammo last week in Hendersonville than I have in the gun. It looks like the typical ak as fair as I can tell. Pretty smooth metal finishing, no burrs or obvious problems. Foregrip and stock are not a perfect match, but are unfinished and I plan to stain and polycoat them. Got 2 used mags with it and bought 5 new Bulgarain mags. I've run about 200 rounds thru it so far and am quite happy with it.Considering I'd never shot one before, I was extremely happy to keep all the rounds from my first 2 mags in a 12 inch grouping. The gun ran flawlessly. Not a hiccup. No indication of a problem. If there are better ones out there, so be it. I got one I like. So for me, it's a keeper.
  15. Sorry to hear that. Obey the docs and your wife. Not necessarily in that order. Get some rest and have a smooth recovery.
  16. Congratulations on a fine looking combination.
  17. Is that all? That's just not right.

    just some fyi

Why not? I had a lot of fun with it back then.
  19. Thinking about a Walther PPQ First Edition. And a threaded barrel for my G19. And just to irritate Red5, I got a stainless 4" GP100 a couple weeks ago. It's nice.

Oh, I don't know about that. Have you seen the Kentucky Conan lately? Crap. Can't find it to link for you. Sorry.
  21. I just sat thru the whole movie, Devil's Playground. I must say I liked it. When the Bitish do a good movie, they do it well. And this was pretty darn good. Of course there have been som real turkeys as well from the Old Country as well. But this was as good as, if not better, than 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later.
  22. In partial defense of RK Shows, the building in Murfreesboro is crap. Dirty. Poor ventilation. Almost non-existant bathroom facilities; one for men and one for women. And no lights in the bathrooms, such as they are. A pretty pitiful place actually.
  23. That's the way for me as well. Too many other toys to be rushing around after another hot, new item. But. then again....
  24. I've had mine for 16 years now. Never done anything but send in the renwal my mail. And after having to get a duplicate liscense made, I sure wouldn't want to have to go thru the wait again. My TDL renewal came back without a photo, so I opted to have a new pic done. I'd had the same picture for the last 2 renewals at least. Anyway, the concept of a dl without a photo struck me as absurd. I just couldn't stand it. Why would the DMV issue a liscence without a pic? Makes no sense, you need a photo id to even vote.
