  1. Congratulations! Good choice for a first gun. Sounds like you have room to shoot at home. I'm envious.
  2. A couple of very nice pistols there, Hippy. I really liked the Tactical until I scrolled down ands saw the Scandium model. Yo may have just shiwn me my next purchase. I'm very sorry to say that they make my Gunsite Model a little envious.

    Trying to decide

Couldn't have made a wrong choice from those three guns. For allaround use, I would, and do have, the G19. That being said, I've shot the CZ in several forms, and have A CZ75 now and love it. Also have the Sig2009, the 2022 predecessor, and it's a fantastically easy gun to carry and shoot, but it is a little on the large side.
  4. Mikey, I really do envy you on meeting President Reagan. The more I listen to clips, and learn about him, the more I realize just how great a man he was. The only celeberity I've ever met was Senator Fred Thompson. My wife and I had a booth at the Italian Street Fair when it was in the Maryland Farms area; selling craft items and some jewelry. The Senator and one of his aids were doing some re-election campaigning. Mr. Thompson stopped, introduced himself and chatted with us for about 10 minutes; surprisingly not about his re-election though. He seemed genuinely interested in what we were doing and complemented our work., actually buying a small piece. I attempted to give it to him, but he wouldn't have it. I did however, give him a Navajo buckle for his jeans that day, and he made quite a fuss over it. A real pleasure to meet the man. And yes, he was just as imposing in person and he appeared to be on the tv and newscasts.
  5. I have no personal experience with one, but the talk I hear from people who've bought them, and from several shops, is that they are as good as any comparable priced 1911. Both in quality and accuracy. I've heard no negative feedback on them from the 2 local shops I frequent. They would seem to be a slightly more expensive alternative than the Phillipine 1911s as an entry into the 1911 market.

    Lanyard

Looks good to me. I don't have the patience for it.
  7. Since I have not bought an M&P, and was sorta interested in the 9c, I'll be interested in looking at it, but, for me anyway, it may be too small. I think the attempt to make the smallest hand cannons has gotten to the extreme lately. But...that's just my opinion.
  8. Take the Marlin and send it to me. Seriously, if it were me, I'd go for the Marlin in a heartbeat. Especially in the 22 mag version. If it weren't so far, I'd try for it myself.
  9. I wonder how long before it's available in pink?

    New Toy

Sweet looking rifle. Does an obsession with the 223/556 lead into 308?

    Masters

Not sure if I like the sound of that. Are you still talking golf?
  12. I don't know about current value, but I'd like one of them myself. I do have a certain fondness for the Taurus pistols. Not sure the "nickel-plated sissy pistol" line was absolutely fair, but it sure did work well in the movie.

    New Gun

Nice find. I totally agree about the stock. I don't personally care for folders. They have their place, just not with me.
  14. Whew! Thought you gone off there for a moment. Have you found one at a good price? Bud's has them at 523, I believe. Actually, it's 519.
  15. Oh, I see I made a mistake. You want the new PPQ? Not the PPS? Sorry Steelharp, giving you grief over the wrong gun. I actually would like to see one of the First Edition models myself.
  16. Yeah, I had a 40 and sold it to John Wall. It was just a bit too snappy for my petite little hands. Then I got Hickock45's in 9 and found it much better. Can't say that it's all that much better than some of my other 9s, but it is pretty nice. Still a bit more sting than most compact 9s, but ok. For the time being, I'll keep it, unless you want it really, really bad. And have big$$$. Actually, I believe the price on the PPS is coming down.
  17. Thanks for the pics, pdogkilr. Those are the best shots I've seen. The little rifle looks pretty good, and the carry bag is a nice touch. Very good marketing strategy from Ruger. Still don't think I need one...but that hasn't stopped me before.
  18. Check it??? I think I live here. I really must get a life.
  19. Two questions for you. 9 or 40? How badly do you want one?
  20. Brian, thanks for the information. Sounds like a facility we'd all like to be involved with. Sure hope all goes well in the construction phases. Please keep us updated from time to time. I, and everyone else here, would be most appreciative of it. Thanks again. Look forward to your opening.
  21. Seen several pics, and the gun looks interesting. Will have to hold and feel one before deciding to buy. Then the street pricing will determine how seriously I want one.
  22. Huh?? Really????
  23. For a man of your obvious talents, at least verbally and snarkily, 1 hr 15 min.
  24. You get to shoot this?!?! Man I am envious.
  25. Saw that pic earlier and didn't think to tell Mike about it. I must be slipping. Dumba$$!
