  1. I bought a keltec 32 when they first came out and have had no issues with it. Found it to have a few ftfs in the first few mags but after that it settled down. Although not a target pistol I found it to be pretty good to about 20/25 feet and could hold head shots consistantly with it. Loved the little gun. Unfortunately, I was in my Blazer when the May flooding occurred, and I forgot about it being there for about a week. Yes I know that's strange but I had other things to worry over. Anyway, when I cleaned out the truck, I found this slimey, grimey, pitted and rusty blob of metal and plastic. It barely functions after cleaning and is rather uglier than before. So since I don't really trust it now, I'm thinking of sending it to keltec and see their reaction. But to the point of this, I found a good price on a CTC laserLCP package and bought it. No range time on it yet, so I can't comment on that. But as others have said, the finish is a little better and the hold is slightly better. I just really miss the 10 round mags for the keltec. Come on Ruger, get with it. Lets have a bigger mag for this little pocket piece.
  2. Dont have firsthand experience with the carry 9, but Para Ordnance makes some fine weapons. One of my shooting buddies has a couple that I've shot and have no issues with them at all. The LDA series and the Para 14 are what Mark shoots and carries regularly. He like them so much I can't get him into a Springfield 1911, where he should be.

    taurus 905

I don't have any knowledge of the 905, but you might try the Taurus forum--taurusarmed.net for information on it.
  4. Yeah, but he can't help being like that, he freely admits he's a damn yankee...and you know how they are.
  5. Anyone have interesting stories or rememberances about yours or someone else' avatar? CAse in point. Our SuperModerator, Daniel. His avator of Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls album cover sure reminds me of an old flame. Really looked a lot like the sweetie on the bicycle. She had plenty to dance The Four Corners with. Dang, I feel old.
  6. Started a few days ago. Incoming pms seem to be delayed in showing up under the Notification banner. Also It will indicate I have pm but when clicking on it, only old messages show. Any ideas? Thanks.
  7. Once, in my mispent youth, I tried shooting and empty shaving cream can. At least I thought it was empty. Being a mere lad of ten and four, with dad's High Standard 22, I decided that that empty can would be fun to shoot at. And being less than intelligent about the whole matter...I set it on a fence post a proceded to blast away...missing the can and the post from about thirty feet. So I moved closer, thinking I'd get a good view of the can fling off the post. And I hit that time. But isn't it strange how so much billowy white creamy stuff can squirt out of that little 22 hole...straight back along the bullet path about 10 feet away? I got covered from head to toe in shaving cream. And that's where I learned not to use pressurized cans as close range targets.
  8. Haven't been there yet, but have heard of it. I've been a CenterPoint fan for many years; how does it compare?
  9. Yes , an excellent actor. Ronin is one of the best movies of the decade. Great acting, good script and some of the best car chase and gun battle scenes ever. IMHO.
  10. Wow. I wonder if anyone around here has the budget to open one of those up?
  11. Pacer--built for lovin? Gremlin X--built for speed. A buddy had an X with a factory 304ci. It was a blast.
  12. I have one in 40 also. It has had about 600 rounds downrange and is a pleasure to shoot and very accurate. I had John Wall at Eastside Gun Shop do a little work on the trigger and it helped noticibly. The short tale is that for the money I have in it; it's a really dependable gun.
  13. I put a set on my wife's 317/22lr and they are great. Allows very fast target acquisition. And it's a fun toy as well. That's its primary role anyway; although she has wrist problems and can't shoot even a 38 easily. But this works well for her. I plan on putting CT grips on several others as well.
  14. Sadly, that is a common occurance. Of course it hasn't to me, so I couldn't comment. But I do like my small, light xd9sc and do miss the 220 I sold a couple years back.
  15. Have had hawks living and nesting in trees on our hillside for years. Love to watch them hunt squirres and swoop down on crawdads in the spring. Unfortunately, crows started moving into the area last year and are chasing the hawks out. My Gammo pellet gun gets a workout whenever I can get a shot at them. Of course only to scare them off.
  16. Thanks guys for some great movies I'd almost forgotten about...Zulu..absolutely great. Patton..fantastic. A Bridge Too Far, and all the others. This has given me the makings of a long weekend session of movie watching while sitting at the hospital.
  17. GGP2JZ got me to thinking about my favorite movies and that led me to this line of thinking. I saw The Wild Geese about 20 years ago and was blown away by it. One of my alltime favorites. Richard Burton, Richard Harris, and about every good actor in England at the time in one great movie. Anyone else like it? What's yours?
  18. Some really great movies mentioned here: Lonesome Dove, Groundhog Day, The Godfather, 300...But to show my age and movie taste, I'd have to vote for Armageddon. I've sat thru it countless times, it seems and still don't tire of it. Close second choices would be the orginial Terminator( I watched that four times one day) and The Green Berets.
  19. Glad to here it's coming back. Bummer to hear that about the missing characters though. I just got the second season dvd and hadn't watched yet. Notice that Brit seasons seem to be very short on these shows? Sometimes 6 to 10 episodes? And they will kiss off a mainline actor/character in a heartbeat. Example of MI5; lead agents and subordinates drop like flies. Just when you get used to the accent and can understand all the dialog--Bang of Boom--he or she is gone.
  20. Ditto on Primeval. Also, have any of you watched the BBC series MI5? My wife and I have been watching it for a couple of years now and it's really pretty good. The first five seasons were about like a British 24, but the last two have been somewhat more portraying the division between the US and Britian and showing US characters in a less than sterling light.
  21. You can have it, all it takes is...no will power. And the insane desire to have one of everything. Plus the wife to tell you to sell something before bringing another one in. Sometimes I even listen to her.
  22. Just did a quick count. I got a six-pack. Do I qualify?
  23. Alright, now I've got to watch it again. The wife's working late anyway. So won't have to listen to her ask why I watch things like that. A good woman, she just doesn't appreciate good sifi or sarcastic humor, Especially in zombie movies.
