  1. Bummed a ride to the towing yard today to get my personals out of my poor old jeep. They also towed the other guys car. Bear in mind I was doing 55 (the limit) when he hit me...
  2. No word yet. I will know more, hopefully, when I get a copy of the report.
  3. I was driving home last night, doing the speed limit on 11W (4 lane). Light to no traffic. Saw headlights in my rear view and had just eniugh time to wonder wtf was he thinking when he rear ended me hard enough to give me a little flight time - which isn't normally exected in a jeep cherokee. He didn't even attempt to change lanes. Ambulances arrived before the highway patrol and he got them to tkae him to the hospital. Told the ambulance crew he had no ID on him, and when they opened the doors at the hospital he ran, IV and all. Trooper told me the car he was driving has no plates. My car is totalled. He hit me so hard it has a pleat amidships... Hoping USAA can tell me good things about their uninsured motorist coverage tomorrow. The trooper thought he might have a line on the guy. If it is who het thought it was, then he was driving on a suspended license. Told me the guy might spend a couple of days in jail. I spent a couple hours in the ER myself. The trooper was kind enough to retrieve my 1911 from the wreck, and wait until they released me to return it to me...
  4. Found this, had to share... Whilst strolling round the harbor this morning about 11 am., I noticed this character shouting; "Allah be praised" and "Death to all infidels" and suddenly he tripped and fell into the water. He was struggling to stay afloat because of all the explosives he was carrying. If he didn't get help he would surely drown. Being a responsible Canadian citizen, and abiding by the law of the land that requires you to help those in distress, I informed the Police, the Coastguard, the Immigration Office and even the Fire Dept. It is now 4 p.m., the terrorist has drowned, and none of the authorities have yet to respond. I'm starting to think I wasted four stamps.
  5. Parrothead, clear your inbox. Trying to PM you.
  6. Event organizers were required by the Center to pay for additional security as a prerequisite to holding the event. Good call, I'd say. Odd how those holding pro islamic events (or events bashing Christianity) aren't required to procure additional security, but Christianity or pro freedom groups are the problem.
  7. Why, exactly, are we concerned with provoking a cult that has been in a declared war on our culture for 1400 years, a declared war on our country for 36 years? Has it become prudent to remain silent in the face of barbarity?
  8. Disliking the Baltimore rioters doesn't make me a bigot. Calling them thugs doesn't make me racist. Disliking a 'religion' that tells its followers to enslave or kill nonbelievers, & subvert law and government to establish'religious' rule doesn't make me a bigot either. But go ahead and say it does, if you like. The word (like racist) has lost its sting. The ability to see something (or someone) for what it is, and the right to call it what it is, isn't something I am anxious to surrender.
  9. A right not exercised is lost. Also, anyone who says "I believe in free speech, but..." doesn't really.
  10. And then skins 'em out and tans the hides?
  11. There were so many here last year I had to up my game. A full auto airsoft does the trick.
  12. Coleman made table and wall lamps up till the 1940's, I have several in good working order. Excellent source of light and also provide a little heat. Use regular unleaded in a pinch. They also made versions that burned kerosene. I have several single burner Coleman stoves and an old deluxe 3 burner. I restored and collected Coleman and other pressurized gas appliances for years, happy to give advice on getting them to work like new. The ovens work, but take a lot of attention.
  13. Doesn't matter. As far as BATF is concerned it is a done deal. They printed the ban in their regulations book released in January, so any comment period is just a belated attempt to give it the appearance of legality. The law exempts M855 on two separate issues anyway. At this point BATF is really just phoning it in; the agency has made it perfectly clear that they are a law unto themselves, Congress be damned.
  14. 3 inches on top of what didn't melt earlier. Haven't been able to get off the mountain for a week and a half now... Which stinks, as I. Will be out of dogfood tomorrow morning. Anybody in the Mooresburg area have a 4 wheeler?
  15. "They're after me lucky charms!"      Ask a stupid question, etc...
  16. If it flies, floats, or fornicates - cheaper to lease.
  17. Thanks, guys - I put a lot of work into it.    I have no idea what she'd take - 6 or 8K?     I like the fifth wheels, but my daily driver is a 99 Cherokee.  That isn't going to tow a heck of a lot...  If I can pick up an acre or two somewhere, maybe a park model.
  18. Thank you, that's an incredible offer.  Thing is, now that I'm retired (and have some medical issues, I can't really go back to work) I can't afford to buy the things I could when I was sailing.  I'm hoping to get enough from the forced sale of the house and most of my other stuff to buy an RV.  I'm looking for one around the 20K range.   Hey, life is change, and change is adventure.   If you really want the truck, shoot me a PM and I will give you her phone number.  She's in Atlanta, the truck is here in Mooresburg.  The tires are muddy ;)
  19. RC3, you can get a Ferret cheaper.  Also street legal, and a little better on GPM.  It isn't amphibious, but the BTR is amphibious in much the same way a brick is.
  20. Oh, she's also forcing me to sell the house.  Once the paperwork goes through I'm homeless.
  21.   Well, it kind of upset him that he couldn't touch my military retirement (I retired 4 years before we were married), so he gave her the truck 'in lieu of' $4800 in alimony.     As I spent 2 and a half years and close to 20K doing a frame off total restoration, I'm less than totally thrilled with that decision.  Among others.
