  1. And a thank you to Lowbuster for the assist... Fellow was driving across the (mostly drained) lake bottom this evening in a Ford Explorer. Tried to cross a little 'creek' (looked to be a foot or so deep) and got well and truly stuck in the mud. Frame deep. I tried with my Cherokee and winch, but it was just dragging the Cherokee closer. Time for a bigger hammer - went home and got the M37 and a heavy duty chain. Pro tip - those little holes here and there in the frame are NOT for chains. That's what he hooked it to, though... so after dropping my tire pressure 15 pounds and putting it in granny low, out she popped. The chain actually pulled through his frame a good 5 or 6 inches, peeled it like a can opener - but at least he doesn't have to wait for the tide to lift him off. Judge awarded the ex the M37. She doesn't even know how to start it, so it is still sitting here until she finds a buyer. I'm going to miss that truck...
  2. Thursday - oral surgery Friday - took the M38 out for a spin Today - digging around in boxes I packed years ago, found another airsoft and my old paintball gun
  3.   Yeah, I do.  I plead late night and droogs - oral surgery yesterday.
  4. Mooresburg is 12 miles east of Rogersville on 11W.
  5. If you need clips and are near by, give me a shout.  I have plenty.
  6. The customer list will be turned over to California DOJ.  Sole purpose for the raid.  F-troop went after the polymer lowers because they needed an excuse for the raid.  If they'd taken just the customer list (which is what they wanted), some decent federal judge would have fed them their own testicles.
  7. No arrests were made, and no charges filed. Confiscated lowers were previously ATF approved.   Conjecture:  Wanting to suck up to Congressman Ghost Gun (who is trying to pass a law saying 80% receivers are in fact firearms),  ATF first demanded Ares' customer list.  Ares said no, hell no, and knowing how F-troop operates, got a restraining order to stop a BS raid.  BS raid happens anyway - business and homes.  ATF gets the customer list, and takes computers, smartphones, and lowers to teach Ares a lesson - Rspect mah authoritay.   Ares will have to spend years and hundreds of times the value of the confiscated materiel/equipment - they'll likely forfeit the stuff because it isn't worth it. ATF doesn't care either way, as defending in court doesn't come out of their budget, they get to 'have fun', suck up to a politician or two, get a bunch of free 80% lowers for their in-house enthusiasts, and face zero consequences.
  8. Damn you, R_Bert!  You nearly kilt me...    (laughed hard enough to choke)
  9. Shannon Watts isn't really a 'gun grabber'.  She is a paid propagandist who happens to be employed to demonize guns.
  10. Thanks for the links, I've passed them along.
  11. Any bill that restores our Constitutional right, even in small degree, is very relevant.  I'll be making calls in the morning.
  12. Looking for same (160 gr) for a friend.  Any local pointers?
  13. ATF has a history of refusing court orders to return property.  No reason to think they wouldn't do it again.
  14. Yeah.  Last one I maintained had adjustable output - at the higher end the beam would knock seagulls out of the air (DRT) at a hundred yards easy.  We were required to turn it off within 50 miles of the coast or FAA got downright pissy.
  15.   Military radar that can do a 'skin paint' (get a solid return from the aircraft) at, say, 350 miles (aircraft must be at sufficient altitude) puts out enough power to really mess with everything from garage-door openers to cell phones, not to mention blinding civilian radar. (300K watts or better output).   The IFF - well, think of it this way.  Using civilian radar is like searching for someone at night using a flashlight.  The transponder acts as reflective tape.  When it is on, you can see them much further away.
  16. 4 - 6% of the population are homosexual.  They have a political impact far beyond that.  (It's almost as if their political sponsors - the left - have an interest in destroying the nuclear family).  If a brewery wants to offend 95% to score points with 5%, well, their choice.  Not a brilliant one.
  17. The US has an outstanding system of interlocking radar warning nets covering our borders.  Maintaining, coordinating and monitoring these is a non-trivial exercise.  I would be stunned to find that Malaysia has an equivalent system.  Civilian radar has a much shorter detection range - turn the squawk box (IFF) off and the contact drops right off the scope at 1/3 or less the range.  So I'm not surprised that Malaysia lost track of the plane.
  18. Bersaguy This, a two inch section of picatinny rail (magpul - from Amazon), an O-light and remote switch for same (also Amazon) and bobs' yer uncle.
  19.   I have yet to meet anyone with a kind word for that organization.  This is possibly because I select for intelligent people as friends.  They have a long and documented history of abuses, disregard of the courts, incompetence, perjury - if the House had a set (so to speak), they'd be un-funded, disbanded, and hounded into anonymity.
  20. This has become an issue with atf because they will get away with it under this administration.
  21.     TWA 800 explosion was caused by a frayed wire.     What frayed the wire?  A missile.
