Is there a way to use GPX files on an iPhone?

I guess it shows how different people are. I've never been tased, but I have experienced CS gas. I've seen enough videos of people getting tased to know I'd step back into that gas chamber about a hundred times to avoid the tasing. But I'd eat a cheeseburger to avoid both.

These guys all remind me of a feminine hygiene product one might use on a summer's eve and the bag in which it came.

TN Gun Deaths exceed car deaths in 2013 ..... (right....)
LagerHead replied to R_Bert's topic in General Chat
I disagree that suicides are fair game. It implies that guns are the major contributing factor in suicides, when it is obvious that they are only the means to the end. If the opposite was true, the U.S. wouldn't be 30th in the world in suicide rates per capita, we would be first. I also think that the oft-repeated claim that suicide is an impulsive act is very, very far from the truth. I mean, who is sitting around watching TV and enjoying a good beer and thinks to themselves, "You know what sounds good right about now? Killing myself." No, people who even attempt suicide struggle with issues for a long time before the thought even enters their head. That's not impulsive. So they are either committed or they are crying for attention. The former will reach for a gun while the latter will cut themselves or something less "effective." -
OhShoot always has good info on the laws. He is either a lawyer or spends a LOT of time at Holiday Inn Express.

I think 10:00 sounds pretty decent for a time to leave out. That means get there a few minutes early to meet, greet, gas up, drink up (water, Gatorade, etc. ;) ), and do whatever it is you gotta do before a ride. I'm not one to command adults to have a formal safety briefing. But I will remind folks if you're not accustomed to riding in groups, please place yourself near the back. We won't leave anybody behind. Kinda defeats the purpose. Of course, if you're on a sport bike and will be enjoying the twisties the way they're obviously intended, get to the front so you don't have to pass where it's more dangerous. And for the love of God, don't ride beyond your skill level. We'll all stop and help out if you go down, but it sure puts a damper on a ride if you have to send somebody to the hospital in an ambulance. Oh, and if you ain't carryin', stay home. :D Ok, off my soapbox.

A girl in China fell into a reservoir and six family members, none of whom were strong swimmers, jumped in to try and save her. Their attempts were futile and resulted in the death of all 7 family members. How far would you go to save a loved one? http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/04/06/7-members-family-in-southern-china-drown-in-deadly-attempt-to-rescue-girl/?intcmp=latestnews

There are a lot of things that come with getting older. Giving up riding is probably the one I dread more than most. I'm guessing a trike or reverse trike wouldn't change anything?

What time are you thinking of meeting and heading out?

Negligent Discharge, it could happen to you

Some perfect person will still come along and tell him what an idiot he is - just give it time. I know I think about it every time I holster my XD. My holster, which I like because of the way it rides, is kind of a pain to get a gun into. Though the XD has the added benefit of a grip safety, making it more unlikely to have an AD, I will stop short of saying it will never happen. I hope it never does, but only time will tell. -
I am planning on being there and might bring a friend or two.

I can't see how that sentence could possibly be grammatically correct. ;)

My guess is Marc Marquez, current two-time MotoGP champion and holder of quite a few impressive records made all the more impressive considering he just started his third season. He didn't win that race, though. GO YAMAHA!!!

Thanks for the reminder Randall. I sent the following email to my state Senator: Dear Senator Roberts, As I am certain you are already aware, the Tennessee State Constitution reads, in part: Section 26. That the citizens of this state have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defense; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime. Several years ago a law was passed that allowed citizens of this great state to carry firearms in state parks if they possessed a valid Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit (HCP). However, the law, in direction violation of the above portion of the Constitution of our state, allowed local, municipal, and county governments to enact legislation overriding the so-called "guns in parks law." I say it is in direct violation of the Constitution for the following reasons: First, it is a violation of state law to carry a firearm, openly or concealed. It is a defense of this violation if a person maintains a valid HCP. Second, those who would violate the above law are certainly not going to be in any way deterred by a "no guns allowed" sign anywhere, much less in a city park. Therefore it stands to reason that the only people against whom laws preventing carry in city and county parks have effect are the lawful citizens of this state that possess a valid HCP. As FBI statistics and several nationwide studies have shown, carry permit holders are among the most law-abiding segments of our population. So, preventing them from exercising their rights enshrined in the Constitutions of both the great state of Tennessee and the United States in no way has the effect of preventing crime. In fact it would be difficult to argue that such laws are enacted even "with a view to prevent crime," unless one is willing to rewrite the data available on carry permit holders nationwide, and indeed within the state. Therefore, I strongly urge you to vote yes in support of SB1171 and restore the rights of those in this state who have taken the steps necessary - including training, FBI and TBI background checks, fingerprinting, and spending a few hundred dollars of our hard-earned money - to become HCP holders in this state to lawfully carry everywhere possible in the state. I once again thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. Sincerely, LagerHead I didn't actually sign it LagerHead though. ;)

NRA Made $348 million last year
LagerHead replied to macville's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You would think that. And then you would look at "conservative" states like Tennessee where we have the same thing and can't get a decent bill out of committee and would lose some of that optimism. -
Fort Campbell's rules seem to be modeled after how I dress when I ride every time I get on my bike, except they seem to have left out gloves. Wouldn't blow my mind a bit. Again, everyone seems OK with these laws that don't affect them. So why then do we not support "common sense" gun laws that are aimed at those who "can't take of themselves"? It's exactly the same thing. We either need laws that treat us like children that can't make our own decisions or we don't. I choose don't.

Because that's how insurance works. You are put into a pool of people who share similar demographics and either benefit or are punished from the behavior of others like you. That's why, as you get older, your premiums decrease. This seems like an a-hole move. You don't have to have your car towed because the tags are out of date. Why should it be any different for a bike? Yea, gun control laws are there to protect us from ourselves too. I am perfectly fine taking care of myself, thanks.

So lack of a helmet law is akin to chaos? ;)

Getting Tailed, what to do
LagerHead replied to CommsNBombs's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Short of Metalhead's suggestion, I don't think you could handle it better. Just because you're armed doesn't mean you should invite confrontation. While I am a firm believer in stand your ground and castle doctrine and all that stuff, no matter how big of a d-bag a guy might be, it's not worth taking his life because you had to use your brakes and move the steering wheel and everything turned out Ok. ***Language Warning*** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8062QEFk5g -
Tens of thousands of people are killed in all kinds of vehicles every single year. How far should we take this so that the government isn't inconvenienced?
-
Insurance premiums are based on the likelihood of the insurance companies being required to pay out and how much they are likely to pay. Riding without a helmet increases both of those in case of an accident. Although Still Ugly states that riders who don't wear helmets tend to wear better gear, very few people die from road rash. I'd have to see stats from an independent source to know what the actual affect is on deaths and accidents.
-
I am an ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time) rider and I believe that riding without a helmet is just the right amount of chlorine in the gene pool. However, I agree with you on freedom. If you're an adult, you should be able to make stupid decisions if you want to. I feel exactly the same about seat belts and seat belt laws. Or pretty much any law that dictates behavior of an adult.
