  1. Just drove from Oak Ridge to Farragut and back. All rain, no snow but traffic is terrible and the visabilty in West Knoxville is low.
  2. I am actually fortunate enough to have a job that I don't hate getting up in the morning and going to. I could make more somewhere else (in private pratice) but not having to come home and kick the dog is worth a lot to me. My wife on the other hand makes more than I but has to vent for 30 minutes every evening when she gets home.
  3. I have some Ocean Front property in Oak Ridge I'll sell you
  4. Should have saved it for April Fools Day and then posted it as fact
  5. My step daughter and her kids (12 & 13) were her for Thanksgiving. None of them had every fired a gun and she wanted all of them to learn. I took all three of them to ORSA and let them shoot both revolvers and semi-autos. They all did well and it was fun for me to teach them.
  6. I've been taught that when handing a gun to someone it is proper handling proceedure to remove magazine and open the chamber to slide lock and that you should expect to have it handed back the same way. Assuming this was being done then the room sweep was bad conduct/procedure and you are correct to admonish him but there was probably very little actual danger. I agree with it you it really looks bad.
  7. Maybe this is where the Oak Ridge Mall Ninja goes to learn the Judy Chop
  8. If the video had shown Chuck Norris shooting and blowing up a tank I would have believed it:bow:
  9. I concur with Oldogy about postponing purchasing. I would advise going to a firing range that has a good selection of rental units. I know Coal Creek Armory does and most likely so does Gunny's. Both of these are withing driving distance of Tazewell. I am intrested in a 9mm that is smaller than my Glock. On paper I have also chosen a CW9. Last time I looked Coal Creek has one to rent.
  10. I applaud your plan to take a basic safety course prior to taking the HCP class. I saw several persons in my class that had never fired a weapon. The instructor had to show them how to load and fire it. IMO time in HCP classes should be spent on instruction pertaining to carry in the state of TN and firing line qualification not basic instruction.
  11. Considering microsoft comes out with a new version on the average every 2 years then by the year 2015 they will have 10 patties?
  12. Sgt Joe. I don't know you but I like you. That is the most level headed discussion I think I have ever read. As far as Tebow goes. Whether you like or hate FL he is a quality person. Guys like him don't come along ofter and what ever school gets them is fortunate.
  13. I concur with Hidalgo regarding getting a professional opinion. Safety is more important than ascetics. I have a wood stove insert and burn it most of the winter. For some strange reason I like cutting wood but I don't know how many more years of cutting my knees and back have left. Most people claim it saves money but I suspect by the time I have the chimmney cleaned, pay for chain saws, rent a log spiltter, keep a pickup truck and count my time it would probably be cheaper to just use the the gas pack.
  14. Trying to run a place of business, whether private or goverment, with more than a few (that means two) employees is like running an adult day care.
