  1. Worked not so nice area and would frequently have to pull 12 and 14 hour days sometimes. When the law was passed I excited at the chance to legally carry. By the time I had money for the then "Bond" requirement (back the) it had just been done away with. Found a class and went. My Dad had carried for years (illegally) while I was growing up.
  2. Often over looked, yet highly effective defensive measure is toys. Specially the ones my kids keep laying around the house. Legos, match box cars, plastic army men... pretty much you name it I have it strategically placed in my floor. I can personally vouch for their effectiveness as I have almost killed myself trying to cross the house in the middle of the night. And forget about not making a sound too... a well placed lego on a bare foot and I'm ready to shout a confession that I was the gun man on the grassy knoll.
  3. That artwork is AWESOME!! Really nice work man.
  4. I typically try and print out something from each state I am traveling through or staying in from the web, I try to find t on the State Attorney Gen's page. The reason I do this is to help speed along any traffic stops should there be any confusion. Not everyone is up on the laws and I personally think it shows honest intent to follow the laws even if the information I printed was out of date. I have never had to use it, or needed to show it while traveling... just something I do. May seem a little unnecessary to some though.
  5. It would depend more on your lifestyle, manner of dress, body shape, frequency of carry, etc. I used to be more dogmatic about firearms along time ago, now I try to look at them more right tool for the right job and person. Summer carry or vacation in FL, the LCP or a Keltec is really hard to beat. Light jacket, straight cut untucked shirt... 1911 or SP easily conceals. If capacity is a concern then 1911, if "I don't want to worry about it jamming" then an SP might ease your mind. It is possible to make one work for every thing... but it requires compromises at times. Sometimes those small hassles makes it easier to leave it at home more than you intend to. Ultimately it comes down to what your most comfortable with.
  6. USP Compact in .357 sig here. I like the full sizes but they just don't fit my hands to well. I really want them to, but they just don't. Congrats on a good deal!
  7. Seems to me the last thing you would build would be your final perimeter wall and security.
  8. Hahaha!! yeah... one second after and seeing this I can see why!!
  9. That is kind of what o was thinking. It will have access to four small airports that are close. But then I started thinking about if you were going to build something like that for entertaining why in the middle (more or less) of nowhere.
  10. Okay bumped into this through Drudge. Basics... 1. 72,000 sq. ft. home. 2. 23,000 sq. ft. Basement 3. 15 bedrooms; 14 bathrooms; a two-story, 1,600-square-foot library and two-story, 1,970-square-foot great hall. The master bedroom is 1,275 square feet. 4. All Walls Concrete. 5. Rumored Windows are to be Bullet Proof Glass. 6. Located close to Highlandville Mo. (Close to Branson and Two Airports) 7. Owner (Steven T. Huff Family, LLC) is Chief Technology Officer of Overwatch Systems, Ltd... a company that “delivers multi-source intelligence (multi-INT), geospatial analysis and custom intelligence solutions to the Department of Defense, national agencies and civilian organizations. ... More than 25,000 analysts in the U.S. Department of Defense and the larger intelligence community." Now then... maybe it's just late and I am a little tired and not thinking straight. But does this sound a little strange to anyone else? Kind of like a super expensive, bug out location? With his involvement with the DOD... does he know something everyone else does not?!? Click Here for article.
  11. WOW! That is an incredible deal and GREAT opportunity!! Wish I wasn't two hours away.
  12. Normally I would agree with David... However, for me... I have picked up the book a dozen times and had something interrupt me. Only to pick it up a week or two later and have to re-read what I read. I think the class is great for people like me: very little exposure to radios, frequency, amps, volts, radio waves, etc and who really need a place to go and a specific time set to learn about it... AWAY FROM HOME!! Hahaha!!!

    SNOW!!!

Ding-Ding-Ding... I have a new quuote to add to my signature!
  14. I have an EVO as well. (On my second, lost the first.) Mine has held up well. Congrats!!
  15. I've been looking at that orange trainer as well. Your opinion on the sheath seems to shared by a lot of people. Thanks for the link, I'll check them out.
  16. I've done some more reading on it and I'm going to order it tomorrow. I think it will do everything I want it to do.
  17. And luckily... the one that looks best on me! Wasn't sure since it is a fixed blade knife if that made any difference. Not really up on my knife laws.
  18. I have been looking at this knife for a while. Seems like a good "Please remove yourself from me if you don't mind." kinda knife. Ka-Bar TDI The blade is only 2 5/16" long, so it does fall under the 4" rule... but I was wondering if it would still be considered a concealed weapon if carried like it is designed. On your belt, a shirt hanging over it. Etc. Also, does anyone own one and how do you like it?
  19. A friend who has his license let me borrow his book. Been reading it off and on. Seems like something always comes up lately and I'll have to start over reading it again. LOL! I'm interested in it as well. If I can just make some more time to get back to reading and studying for it. I've talke dto some guys at wecares.org at the last field day. Great group of guys.
  20. My Dad grew up in rural Western N.C., he told me once that he didn't know he grew up poor until he left home. He thought everyone lived like that because everyone he knew around him did. It's all relative.
  21. BWAHAHAHAHA!!! I love that picture!! Zombies? Bring it BABY!!!
  22. I disagree... Hank wouldn't let a small thing like walking dead, much less a complete breakdown of society keep him from cutting his grass. Much less selling propane. It is what make "Hank"... "Hank".
