  1. Nice. You might have made the homeless guys day, pretty sure he's not used to being looked out for. Side note, I'm with you on letting the LEO know I'm armed.
  2. You mentioned kevlar, so I assume you've ETS'ed. Best way to get mags, re-enlist, volunteer for deployment, while boots on ground, give the armorer some homemade cookies your mom sent so he'll rip up the hand reciept for your issued mags........
  3. WOW. Waiting for all the facts to come out, don't know if he's braver than heck or working the system. Hope the military figures out a solution for morales sake.
  4. Ever shot at the range in Tullahoma, my unit qualifies there almost yearly. Talked with some guys that were using the range that had some sweet hardware.
  5. Most of the time, always when with the family. Me and one of the rug-ratts will ride as a treat to get Coldstone ice cream. When they hug me and feel the bump on the right side, they no longer ask about it, I've explained why I carry. Funny how they understand that stuff happens beyond our control, but "adults" think they can avoid bad situations.
  6. + For Coach Hammonds, I train with him so if TGO would like to have him, I can get you guys together. He's very supportive of the military, and a great family man. I'm no BBQ expert, but I've researched and study the art so if you need volunteers BBQ,ing let me know.
  7. A co-worker told me about TGO and I've been reading/learning a lot - thought I'd say hello. Married, three kids, and I strongly believe in being able to defend my family should I need to. I try to stay positive and don't hang out with people that will bring me down. Was active duty, in the reserves now and will probably stay til Uncle Sam kicks me out. Thanks for the great information here guys - hopefully I can contribute sometimes'
  8. It's awesome to find somebody who knows where they stand and can account for it. Wonder if he sells Dodge trucks?
  9. Myself and in the safe deposit box, what sucks is that I may have to buy a bigger safe and have to remeber two combos.

    Knife advice

Ever looked into the Emerson - I was issued an auto opening knife when I was deployed, it was cool, but I like the feel and ease of cleaning of my Emerson. It has a design that opened when pulled out of the pocket. This might be late, sorry.......
  11. Try Loveless Cafe, for a meal, Bro's for cajun cooking, and walking around 2nd Ave. and Broad is pretty cool. Some places have outdoor seating for good people watching.
  12. mousegunner, just read your glock link - pretty cool. Sucks to hear about the M&P line, my buddy just bought one.
  13. The Sig Mosquitoe has been real good to me and my 7 year old. We go to the TWRA range on Hobson Pike and he prefers to shoot it over my buddies P22. Took a couple hundred rounds to break in, but now it runs. It also "feels' more like a "gun".
  14. I bought one and hated the trigger pull, thought I'd have it as a truck gun, but every time I took it to the range the trigger factor ate me up. Traded it for ammo.
  15. My P13-45 is the most comfortable handgun I own, but I always carry my Glock 26 - the reliability/comfort factor beats out the rest of my handguns.
  16. GLOCK -GLOCK - GLOCK.
  17. I have friends that own one or the other, and they both like it. I've shot the M&P and like it..........
  18. +1 - Bringing the flag into his bussiness/financial situation does not help him in any way, except to get attention and upset the families tyrying to enjoy the holiday.......
