I have had excellent experience with UPS in similar situations. One time I missed a delivery that required a signature by about ten minutes. When I called the number on the call tag, the customer service lady gave me the driver's personal cell-phone number, and I called him and met him at his next stop. If this argument is taken to it's logical conclusion, since plants have inherent value as life forms we cannot destroy them arbitrarily. If this is coupled with the modern view held by most of the people that would hold this view that all life has the same value and we cannot destroy life for our own benefit, this effectively eliminates our ability to morally eat plants or animals. I guess we had better start evolving the ability of photosynthesis before they claim that dirt, water, and sunlight have rights too.
