  1. XD, I carry a full size 1911 in a Comp-Tac CTAC.
  2. +1 Rabbi is one burning hunk of (kosher) man meat.
  3. Not the way he did, IMO. You weren't breaking any laws, nor did you do anything to warrant suspicion.
  4. That's been my experience with most IWB holsters, they always feel much better behind the hip than they do on it at 3:00. The bigger the holster, the more true that is.
  5. The Boston system doesn't sound that much better. If I think my neighbor has a gun that he shouldn't, I call the cops and they show up at his door doing the same thing the guys in DC are doing. If you are worried that there may be an illegal gun in their house, the best option is looking for yourself . I doubt there is anything in my house that a cop can find but I cannot.
  6. Yup, the "missile" was merely one of the tubes that the government ships rockets in. The guy got three free pairs of shoes out of it though.
  7. Not on a weapon with a manual safety engaged (assuming, as always, that the weapon is not malfunctioning.) That's still no excuse for not paying attention and keeping the trigger guard clear unless you are ready to fire (or Mars trying to piss people off.)
  8. I'm going to start calling them speedloaders.
  9. A .357 magnum revolver, in case the auto runs out of clips.
  10. Anyone watching the massacre?
  11. An ex-girlfriend of mine once got into an argument with an atheist and literally started throwing bibles at him. He's still an atheist, you may be on to something there Desiree.
  12. In my opinion, absolutely not, assuming you are not legally prevented from handling the firearm in the first place.
  13. I agree completely, Tactical45, and carry my 1911 cocked and locked all the time. My post was directed at Junglist more than you, I just can't quite wrap my head around the idea of carrying without a round in the chamber unless you expect something to happen.
  14. If you're the lendee, there's an easy solution; don't sue your father in law if you get hurt. If you're worried about you shooting someone and your father in law getting sued, don't, you'd be the one to get sued and unless the injured party can prove that your father in law was negligent in letting you use the pistol (if you were a convicted felon, for example), he's safe. As long as you're legally allowed to handle a firearm criminal liability shouldn't be an issue. I'm not a lawyer though, so my opinion is worth what you payed for it.
  15. If you're expecting something to happen, you should have a rifle. The point of a handgun is you can have one when you're not expecting anything.
  16. Of course she's real, where else would natural rights come from, Cookie Monster?
  17. I record caliber, action, and scope info as well.
  18. I've seen 9mm fired out of a .40 several times. The brass expands to fit the .40 chamber and gets stuck there, since the extractor doesn't get a hold of the smaller case rim. The gun belonged to a friend of mine, and I saw the wrong ammunition fired out of it at least 3 separate times. He used to have an ammo can full of 9mm and .40 that someone found in their attic and gave him. This went on for a couple of months until he finally blew up the gun with a squib.
  19. You can steal cars and kill peoples dogs too.
  20. Some (|səm| adjective 1 an unspecified amount or number of) of (|əv| preposition 1 expressing the relationship between a part and a whole) us (əs|pronoun [ first person plural ]1 used by a speaker to refer to himself or herself and one or more other people as the object of a verb or preposition) do (verb ( does |dəz|; past did |did|; past part. done |dən|)1 [ trans. ] perform (an action, the precise nature of which is often unspecified))
  21. Cool vid Boomhower, I hadn't heard that version before. Sounded like Herbie Hancock on keys.
  22. Jaco Pastorius, in all his modesty, proclaimed his own bass solo from Weather Report's Havona "the greatest bass solo ever recorded." I think I agree with him. That is all
  23. The day you become a pubescent.
  24. I would go with a 20 gauge autoloader with buckshot. Manageable kick, easy to aim, simple to learn, powerful enough.
  25. That's a good point. While the Hydrashock may have been wonderful for dispatching the badguys of ten years ago, they hardly suffice for todays new breed of badguy. Luckily, I haven't seen much of a change in human flesh composition over the past 10 years, and am comfortable sticking with a round that works with the badguy of yesteryear. On topic: .357 if you like revolvers, .45 if you like pistols
