I've bought several firearms online in the past two years. Just have to figure in the shipping, and tranfer fee, sometimes those together are cheaper than sales tax if the gun is near the same price. Then there is some you aren't going to find in your area, like some of the older ones, like an older Winchester I found about a month back. But I'm about saving money, and some deals are better online and some are not. I like helping the locals, but they just don't always have the best deals. I found a dealer near me that will do tranfers for 10.00 bucks and that helps too. just my two cents.

I done the very same thing last year JPS. Stopped by the liquor store on the way home and got a LOOK from a lady behind me in line but that was about it. I may do the same again this year, haven't decided.

I love the lever guns and like you said it looks like an old western rifle. Looks good to me, you should have a very nice weapon there that should serve you and your son well. I would be proud to add it to my collection. Enjoy, and let us know how it shoots later.

There are several around this area that do. Like Sgt. Joe said Parkway Gun and Pawn, and also Krasner's Cash and Pawn, in Jackson, and Todd usually has some of the best prices around. Robertsons Trading Post in Henderson, and Woods Gun and Pawn in Lexington. Thats the ones that I've had dealings with in the past, and probably others, just haven't dealt with any others.
