  1. Unknown to me while I was on active duty out in SoCal I had gotten a DUI in Alaska in 2003. When I retired in 05 and moved back here to TN and tried to renew my drivers liscense I was told Alaska had a hold on it since then. Alaska? Hmmm, are you sure its Alaska? I had never been to that state. Anyway after starting to ball rolling on the Identity Theft police reports here and in AK my wife tried faxing some stuff up there and the number that I was given as a fax wasnt a fax number. It turns out that the Trooper (Trooper Peterson) that arrested the clown that claimed to be me answered the phone. What are the chances of that? Then he remembered the arrest because after he was hauled in and printed they found out who he really was. And for what ever reason that case stuck in his head. So to make a short story long, I called Trooper Peterson back and talked to him a bit. He understood that I wasnt the suspect as he was still locked up and he said he would call me back. About 45 minutes later he called back and stated that the DMV up there has lifted the hold. A potential nightmare was averted because of that Trooper. Thank you Trooper Peterson, where ever you are!!!
  2. I am a big fan of the magnesium blocks. I did a tour as a Naval Survival Instructor (SERE) and it is my preffered method. Yes Bic's are cheap and handy. Have you ever tried to start a fire with a Bic at 4 am after it had been raining for days and now the temp is around 15 degrees F? I have and I never carried a Bic after that night. Trust me, you will end up burning a good portion of your first aid kit to get a fire lite. I keep a mag block in each vehicle and on my bike. It will start a fire when other methods wont. Yes there are chemicals that will work, ever try brake fluid and shock treatment? Who wants the carry that much stuff with them? DISCLAIMER: With the brake fluid and shock treatment fire starting, DO NOT try indoors nor under cover anywhere!!!! DO NOT breath the smoke!!!
  3. I shopped at Costco out in CA before I retired back here. With that said we, the wife and I, are members at Sam's now. I liked Costco better. Maybe the stores are different from one coast to the other, I dont know. But I just liked them better. Just my 0.02.

    Go Navy!

These days the Shellback and DOGD cards dont mean much. They hand them out like candy. Oh, just got to "love" the PC military.

    Go Navy!

Got that card around here somewhere. Chuck, Thanks. I'll have to get over to the test area and play around.

    Go Navy!

Hey Chuck, If you get a chance and feel up for it, how about telling me how the heck I embed a video. LOL
  7. That is about the ugliest thing I have ever seen!!! You should give me $20.00 to take it off your hands. (end sarcasm) Very nice!

    Go Navy!

In my 20 years in, I never heard WOGS called Woogies. Different time, I guess. I earned my Shellback card in 87 onboard the USS RANGER CV-61. What passes as WOG initiation now, isnt. I stopped playing when on my 94 deployement onboard the USS CROMMELIN FFG-37, the initiation was the WOGS held a Steel Beack for the Shellbacks. And yes they got thier cards and cert's. Lame.... LOL

  13. Its good to see the fish eaters are keeping busy. BZ guys....
  14. I got caught stealing a pen in the 3rd grade. That was the end of my criminal career. I'm glad the clown was caught and cuffed. As it should be, stupidity can be painful. LOL
  15. Retired from the USN (in 05) to become a full time house husband. A year after I retired our son was born, now my work day is longer than ever before. I shoot less and ride less on this "job". LOL
  16. How many is too many? I feel if you have triple digits of the SAME make/model, that would be too many. Other than that, there isnt ever "too many". Back when I was younger (and foolish) I thought I wanted one of every gun made. Now that I am older (maybe wiser) I realize I need TWO of every gun made.

    Motorcycle

For a first bike, I would buy anything over 500cc for the cheapest you can get it for. After a few months of riding and when you feel comfortable start looking for what you actually want to ride everyday, sell off the old one and buy it. I would also highly suggest a MSF course. I have been through it several times at the request of the military and it helps with the basics and learning the right way to do things. Its easier to learn correctly than to break bad habits. Just my $0.02. If you look around a lot of MSF course also provide the bike.
  18. As stated earlier, go easy with MRE's. Each meal pack is suppose to be eaten over 24hr period, 1 MRE=24 hr food ration. One complete MRE has from 3,000 to 3,500 calories and the cold weather meals are 5,000 calories. And yes drink LOTS of water and DO NOT eat three MRE's in one day. You will be stopped up for days. LOL
  19. Buck is the nickname that got stuck on me right after I joined the Navy (with the last name of Rogers, the nicknames are limited). The 1032 is a 4-per rev vibration on the H-60 that I spent way too many man hours correcting.
  20. I was surprised and glad to see some Social D/Ness fans out there, I have seen them in SoCal and in Atlanta. Here's whats playing now Sprung Monkey Next I'll be hearing some Unwritten Law And while we are here, this is the song the wife and I got married to Just got to love Bif Naked.
  21. "A $20,000 motorcycle and no clock on it, my $10,000 Kawasaki has a clock. :D" And no tunes either! WTF? I have to sing to myself all the freaking time. Luckily at 80 mph no one can hear me. LOL
  22. Thats a clean looking Heritage. My FX Springers colors are the same, but with different tank graphic. My 73 Ironhead is more of a rat, dull, faded rattle can red. LOL
