  1. Shiraz, while putting together presents for the 3 year old. Hopefully it will all work when needed. LOL
  2. All my previous benches were pretty much standard height, 36 inches. My latest bench is 30 1/2 inches tall that way I can sit in my chair to reload, clean the firearms, etc.
  3. You are correct. I was typing by light of the Christmas tree last night. Sorry for any confusion.
  4. I taught SERE on the Navy side in the late 90's. Another good source for info is the FM5-05.70. Which is a newer version of the FM21-76.
  5. I dont have a DLSR camera, so I guess that wont be happening for me. Thanks for the info, though. If you happend to be in San Diego in the future I would gladly compensate you for a trip to Ft Rosecrans. Those are some awesome pictures!
  6. Beautiful pictures Strick! Do you have a specialized camera for that? The reason I ask is I am about to don my uniform again (retired in 05) for a very good friend who is about to be buried at Ft Rosecrans in San Diego. He passed today at 12:15(Pacific). I would love to be able to take a few pictures like that after his service in near future.
  7. I started out on the Moody Blues now I am finishing off my day with some Tull YouTube - Jethro Tull - Crest Of A Knave - 02 Farm On The Freeway
  8. Or left palm, as some of us clowns shoot left handed. Me thinks that might have left a mark.
  9. Retired and stay at home dad to a 3 year old. This "job" has long hours and less pay. But I love to see my son smile and hear his laugh, its the sweetest sound in the world.
  10. Yes, as long as there isnt any moisture and you have a good seal, you should be good to go.
  11. The thing with sleeping bags is the rating. Of which there is not industry standard. You may have two exactly same bags from two different places and they will have two different ratings on them. Yes even the very high end ones. When you read the rating keep in mind that they usually mean that temp on an iso mat, in an appropriate rated tent. With the newer MilSurp stuff, the rating is closer to real life stuff. Good luck in your choice and like others have said your comfort needs to top priority (ie large enough, left hand or right hand, mummy bag, etc)
  12. I had this playing in the truck to and from the Post Office a few minutes ago. YouTube - I Hear Music
  13. This is Getatchew Kassa's Tizit. YouTube - 1 of the Best Ethopian songs - Getachew Kassa I was wanting to post Tezeta but I couldnt find a video. But this one is decent enough.
  14. A little Filipino music. Yes, I have several of Kuh's cassette's. The English versions anyway. My Tagolog is just enough to get me into trouble. LOL
  15. Congrats!!! She's beautiful! And better you than me. My one and only is three. Five???? Havent you figured out what causes them by now??? I did after one and got that taken care of. LOL
  16. If you would like to pull the bullets shoot me a PM and we can swap info and possible meet up, as I am in Clevegas as well. I tend to side with other comments. Something other than the dessicant came in contact with that ammo. Metal, during the corrosion process is reverting back to its original state. With that said, you might very well have dissimiler metal corrosion. That normal requires contact between the two metals. However if the desiccant bag was laying on both types of cartidges AND the silica was activated (wet) that may have induced it. I would keep the different ammo types seperate. Just my 0.02
  17. I have done some acting, for military training films. While you might think it podunk, it was a full production shoot and I was a lead character. Too bad for me, that once I left that command I lost the "Need to Know". I spent two weeks of my life playing their role as a hostage and I will never see it. Anyway, the reason I bring that up is there is no accounting to peoples likes. I would not like to live full time like I did for those two weeks. Half Sac, Good luck dude. LOL
  18. Did someone mention Budapest? YouTube - Jethro Tull: Budapest (7/13/1991)
  19. Good song. And yes it screams Christmas to me also. I saw the Kinks back in 86 in San Diego, one of the few times the brothers seemed to get along. LOL
  20. Got any buddies that are former divers? Back when I was still on active duty, one of my Master Chiefs was a SEAL and he would pass along dive weights to me. Might be another avenue to look at. Disclaimer- I never tested the hardness on them, I just smelted 'em and mixed it with wheel weights and never had a problem. Yes I was too cheap to buy my own harness tester, and still am.
  21. IFRC Henry Rollins supported Clinton and the So Called Assault Weapons Ban. F- him and his music, Yes I did listen to him till I learned of his leftist leanings.
  22. Ding, Ding, Ding We have a winner! Someone most likely CAPT(0-6) or above is pushing this, for what ever reason. I do look forward to seeing how this plays out. The Army and Marines have battled this type of crap for a while. It appears it has made into the SOF world and it will not end well. No matter how it ends, it will be bad. The Operators will now have to second, third and fourth guess themselves and each other. Not a high speed, low drag way of conducting operations IMO.
