  1. Sounds fun. I will try to make it. I want to use a .22 to save money, but i dont have a mag fed 22. Would it be to difficult to do with a tube fed? I have an AR, but the cost of ammo would be to high for me. Would a 22 conv kit for my AR work?
  2. $36 link Spyderco Tenacious G-10 Handle, Plain Edge There are a lot of fine Gerber's out there of a lot less than $100, too.
  3. speaking of "get home bag" what about a seat belt cutter. Keep it close to you. It is safer than a knife. you can use it in the dark upside down without sticking yourself. something like Benchmade Strap Cutter Carabineer Black you never know when you'll have a wreck and be trapped by your seat belt. Getting to you knife on your belt may be tough. A seat belt cutter hanging from you dash would be real handy.
  4. +1 for knifecenter.com, several friends and i have bought a lot of stuff from them with no issues. I like www.lighthound.com/All-Products_c_6.html. They have a lot of odds and ends. You can find some real good deals looking thru their closeouts. I have purchased from the several times with no issues. For AR accessories, it is hard to beat www.primaryarms.com/ for prices.
  5. A friend has one for his home defense. He is happy with his.
  6. Storage: In a humidity controlled safe when it is not in use. With a thin coat of lube. All my original gun cases are in a closet. Mags: Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick, are always safe. Others that have worked for me are Springfield and S&W.
  7. I havent had a lot of great knives, but i have had good luck with cheap knives. I had a promo knive from my Dads job about 20 years ago. It looked like a traditional buck folder. It had a carbon blade that had the best edge ever. It would hold the edge for ever. Ugly knife but damn it was a good knife. My current pocket knife is a Gerber stainless skeleton type knife with a 2 inch blade. I got it as a stockin stuffer 3 years ago. I wasn't excited about it. It set for a year. I needed another knife one day and took it. It has been with me everyday for 2 years. It sturdy. Been run over by a truck, 3-4 times, dropped, chemicals, etc. I left my skinning knife at home last year and had to clean and process a deer with this gerber. It never missed a beat. It keeps an edge. My 6" Colt / United Cutlery has been a very good knife. I like my CRKT Triumph N.E.C.K. My fav has to be my Paw Paw's old Case tri folder with bone handles.
  8. I have read that local DAs and other Law officials can sign NFA forms. But, there is a time limit for the sheriff. he has to sign in so many days. I can't remember the time limit either.
  9. I just got back. It was an ok show. The number of shoppers were low because of the rain, but it was ok. Some AR accessories. Some good deals. Tactical Response had a booth. TR had some nice goodies. There was a Beretta CX4 9mm for $525 private sale. He said it was new. It looked new. That is a very good deal for a CX4. I have his contact info if anyone is interested. If i had $500 i would have bought it. CX4s are usually $800.
  10. as i mentioned on AR15.com, ill be out of town. I am up for june/july.
  11. I thought a pistol lower can be changed to a rifle, but a rifle lower can never become a pistol. I didnt think it had anything to do with SBR unless you tried to put a stock on a AR pistol that had a short barrel. SBR/NFA forms would need to be filed if you wanted to put a stock on a short barreled pistol.
  12. No doubt bull pukky. They are out nothing, but a $10 TICS. All guns will sell in time. They have no justification for a 25% fee. Especially if they are not up front about that.
  13. I shop Range USA, Bass Pro, G&A, Classic and Arm Fair. I like them all. I have not had an issue with either one. G&A can be real busy on the weekends. You may have to get someones attention to get service.

    Flat top AR

as already said, No. With red dots the sight should cowitness. I have a fixed front sight and rear pop up with an eotech. If my eotech goes out, buis is always up, so i am good to go. I dont even notice the sights. With scopes 4x or over, the scope will focus past the FSB. Usually aa scope will set over the rear flip up when the rear buis is not deployed. Many operators like a FSB. Some flip ups sights are not as reliable as the FSB. check out ar15.com. you'll see that it isn't an issue for many.
  15. very cool. evil dessert tan rifle. pics!
  16. They may tell you that your not paying the sales tax, but they are. They can say whatever they want. If it costs $100 it would be $109.75 after tax. So, what they are doing is selling it for $91 or so plus tax. But they are paying the tax. Edit: G&A stopped doing that the last time i was there.
  17. That is total BS. I have heard of keeping a fee, $60 at G&A in Memphis, but 25% is crap. I would never buy from them. They know good and well, that some denials are mistakes. They are just looking for a way to keep your money. Even if it is printed on the receipt. You dont see that until you buy it. IF they had a big sign on the wall, then you shouldn't have bought from them.
  18. Southaven gun show this weekend, who's going? when? TRI-LAKE GUN & KNIFE SHOW i'll probably go sat morning.
  19. +1 for shoot before you buy. Some of these have major recoil. of the ones you listed. LCP TCP PF9, very light for a 9mm. Maybe to light. P3AT No Diamondback. too many issues. Others: Karh is nice, very small and light. Maybe to light. PPS 9mm. light, small, thin, but heavy enough to shoot all day. I carry mine all day IWB and never notice it.
  20. order of expungement will clear it up
  21. Chance is a good guy. I shot with him last saturday. I figured CA would take care of it.
  22. hmmmm. very do-able.
  23. That could be fun. I was thinking about going July 4 to take a break and lets the kids swim and fish, but that would be hot for shooting.
  24. It is their facitily, they can do what they want with it. I personally understand their reasons. It's all good. At least RUSA worked out a way to shoot ARs. They could have just banned them. An affordable outdoor range would be very nice.
