  1. It has already put a guy I know out of the business. I hope they can somehow get this reversed.
  2. If it is inspired by a Sig then I would guess that it will be overpriced and heavy. Maybe a .45 AR to go with a P220?
  3. I used to go morel hunting with my Grandparents all the time. But for some reason they quit growing on the farm and we haven't found them in a few years. If you ever get the chance to eat them don't pass it up, they are great.
  4. I hope you enjoy college football. We take it very seriously here. There are a lot of outdoor activities to do here too. Great hunting, fishing, and hiking all here in middle Tn.
  5. Yea the mod 3 catches on everything. I thought it was just too big.
  6. If I was going to change out the charging handle I would get the BCM Gunfighter Mod 4. Throw a Aimpoint T1 on there and you will be set.
  7. I don't own one but have researched them quite a bit. If you are looking for the cooler that holds ice the longest check out Engel. They beat out Yeti in the ice hold test done by a sailing magazine. I looked at Yeti, Engel, and Coleman Extreme when I was buying and ended up buying a Coleman Extreme Marine because it was half the price. So I got two Colemans for what one Yeti or Engel would have cost. I have had mine hold ice for seven days. It was kept in the shade and on the seventh day the drinks inside were still cold.
  8. Yea the October shoots are usually dusty as all get out.
  9. You can add your muzzle brake with no legal issues.
  10. How did you like it? I talked to one of my good friends last week and he said it was really good.
  11. Generally you will just loose velocity. The length of the barrel doesn't affect accuracy in most cases. There are guys shooting past 1000 with 16" and 18" barrels with no problems. Now this doesn't hold true when you go to extremes, most barrels longer than 15" will shoot pretty good groups.
  12. Yea but I don't get my information from an "opinion news entertainment" show. It's not just Beck, I can't stand any of those talking heads.
  13. 2.1.3 Rifle . A rifle is a firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder and designed to use the energy of an explosive in a fixed cartridge to fire only a single projectile through a rifled barrel for each single pull of the trigger.11 http://www.atf.gov/publications/download/p/atf-p-5320-8/atf-p-5320-8-chapter-2.pdf That is from ATF's NFA handbook, Chapter 2, What are "firearms" under the NFA? And by that definition a muzzle loader is not a rifle (unless it can accept a centerfire barrel) and therefore I wouldn't think it would fall under the NFA. This is a good topic, I had never even thought about it.
  14. Just water tonight. Been boozing the last two night at Knob Creek.
  15. I can form my own opinion. I don't need someone to tell me what I should think. It doesn't matter if they are from the right or left.
  16. If the REC7 is your dream rifle I would save for that. You are not going to be completely happy until you have it. But for me personally, I would much rather have the M1A. I would get a Springfield Scout, but again that is just personal opinion.
  17. Probably used as a hammer/hatchet type of tool. But that is nothing more than a guess.
  18. Are you looking for a gun or parts? Most of the M11's that I've seen are north of $3k. Most are $3500. There are quite a few new uppers for them though. Saw the .22 conversions and the drum uppers.
  19. If any of you guys are thinking about coming up to the machine gun shoot this weekend, I was at the range today and the parking lots were fine. The upper ones are mostly dry. The lower ones looked ok but I didn't drive down there. I think they have a 30% chance of rain for both Friday and Sat, with highs in the upper 70's. Looks like it's going to be a good shoot. I did score a Aimpoint M2 today with a ARMS mount for $150. Which I thought was a good buy.
  20. NYC is great to go to for a few days. After 3-4 days there I was ready to get out of the city though.
  21. A warning about older outboard motors. There are a lot of parts that no one makes for these older outboards. I am working on a 76 Mercury 150 right now and just during my parts search have have seen a lot of "not available any longer" in the parts catalog. Also look very closely at the wiring, both inside the motor and out. The boat I am working on has been inside its whole life, but the wiring is falling apart. You can just touch it and the insulation crumbles off. After doing some research I have found that Mercury used stainless wire in the 70's and 80's because they thought it would do better in a wet environment. But the stainess produced a corrosion which caused wire rot.
  22. I handled one today. The fit and finish was just as nice as my PM40. These will definitely put a hurting on the PM series sales.
  23. Why don't you ask the person selling the boat to take you out in it? Tell him you will buy some gas and you guys go out and run it around the lake. What brand of boat is it and what motor does it have in it? I'm working on a Mercury 150hp outboard right now. Outboards cost a lot more to work on than guns do. Ask me how I know.
  24. Small Arms Review
  25. Yes sir they do. Nice gun.
