  1. I had a DSA lower that was out of spec. The hole for the mag release wasnt big enough. Thought it was just a fluke until I talked to another guy who had the same exact problem. They should stick to FALs it seems.

  3. Check and see if it still has the mum on top of the reciever. Most of these were ground off before they came over, but some out there made it here with the mum intact. The value is increased if the mum is still there.
  4. Care to cite the source you got this information from?
  5. It's not what he did during the fight, it was his actions after that landed him in hot water and gave him the reputation he carries. In his AAR he basically blamed everyone but himself.
  6. This is from the NFA handbook that you can read on ATF.gov. As with most things NFA there is a grey area, which like David said is what happens to the NFA item between the time the orginal owner passes away and the time the form 5 is approved for the heir. 9.5.3 Distribution of estate firearms. A decedent’s registered NFA firearms may be conveyed taxexempt to lawful heirs. These distributions are not treated as voluntary “transfers†under the NFA. Rather, they are considered to be involuntary “transfers by operation of law.†Under this concept, ATF will honor State court decisions relative to the ownership and right to possess NFA firearms. So, when State courts authorize the distribution of estate firearms to decedents’ lawful heirs, ATF will approve the distribution and registration to the heirs if the transactions are otherwise lawful. A lawful heir is anyone named in the decedent’s will or, in the absence of a will, anyone entitled to inherit under the laws of the State in which the decedent last resided. 170 18 U.S.C. 922(a)(4); 27 CFR 478.28 62 9.5.3.1 Distributions to heirs. Although these distributions are not treated as “transfers†for purposes of the NFA, Form 5 must be filed by an executor or administrator to register a firearm to a lawful heir and the form must be approved by ATF prior to distribution to the heir. The form should be filed as soon as possible. However, ATF will allow a reasonable time to arrange for the transfer. This generally should be done before probate is closed. When a firearm is being transferred to an individual heir, his or her fingerprints on FBI Forms FD-258 must accompany the transfer application. The application will be denied if the heir’s receipt or possession of the firearm would violate Federal, State, or local law. The law enforcement certification on the form need not be completed. The form should also be accompanied by documentation showing the executor’s or administrator’s authority to distribute the firearm as well as the heir’s entitlement to the firearm. Distributions to heirs should not be made until Forms 5 are approved. Executors and administrators are not required to have estate firearms registered to them prior to distribution to lawful heirs. 9.5.3.2 Distributions to persons outside the estate . Distributions of NFA firearms by executors or administrators to persons outside the estate (not beneficiaries) are “transfers†under the NFA and require an ATF-approved transfer form. Transfers of serviceable firearms to other entities or persons require an approved Form 4. Form 4 applications must be accompanied by the applicable transfer tax, and, if the transferee is an individual, the transferee’s fingerprints on FBI Forms FD-258. Applications will be denied if transferees’ receipt or possession of the firearms would violate Federal, State, or local law. Also, Form 4 applications to transfer firearms to individuals must contain the law enforcement certification of an appropriate law enforcement official. See Section 9.8 for further information on these certifications. Form 4 applications to transfer firearms to non-FFLs residing outside the State in which the estate is being administered will be denied. Form 4 transfers should not be made until the transfers are approved.
  7. Was it a full auto or a semi rebuild? It is marked different than some of the orginal C&R RIA guns I have seen is why I ask.
  8. I read this earlier today. Glad she is doing it, I'm not sure how many Hollywood actors or actresses would do it. I bet not many.
  9. Me too.
  10. Praying for a complete and timely recovery. Hang tough, we are all here for you.
  11. Bronker are you a MD, PA, NP?
  12. This is truth. If you can't have fun without the booze then you're probably not there for the football anyway. Don't get me wrong. I like to have a drink just as much as the next guy, but I don't need it to have a good time.
  13. You can buy beer at some college games. They can't sell it at any SEC stadium, but when UT played U of Memphis they were selling beer. And at they sell it at bowl games as well. That rule has never stopped anyone that really wanted to drink from doing it at anyway. All you have to do is look in the trash cans in the bathroom at all the empty bottles. The thing that gets me is that if you have a suite you can load it out with all the booze you want the Friday before the game. It's this way at UT anyway.
  14. I use ladder covers on all of my rail systems and have never had a problem. And I have little girl hands.
  15. Why can't the whole country be more like Texas? Too bad the tax payers had to feed him and give him free healthcare for 16 years before they gave him the needle. Should have been took out and had his skull crushed with a chunk of asphalt on the town square for everyone to see no more than 6 months after he was found guilty.
  16. I haven't been much of an NFL fan for the last several years but the lockout pushed me over the edge. It wouldn't bother me if they just cancelled this season and played NCAA games on Sat. and Sunday.
  17. I must be looking at a different handguard than you guys are. Not my cup of tea looks wise.
  18. Meh. Wake me when the first college game is played.
  19. No, not true at all. There is no more vibration than when you rapid fire your AR15.
  20. That was the reason I joined the private range that I did because they allow .50's.
  21. If you are thinking about buying one make sure you have a place to shoot it. No public ranges in middle TN allow .50BMG that I know of.
  22. That article was written before the Clinton "assault weapons" ban ended in 2004. Some of the features he talks about were flash hiders (how scary), bayonet lugs (so deadly) and collapsible stocks (very evil). You don't have to worry about that at all now (since 2004), RDIAS or not. But if you have a RDIAS you will need to remove the full auto fire control parts from your AR once the RDIAS is out of the gun. Also if you are running a barrel under 16" with your RDIAS you will need to remove it once the RDIAS is out of the gun so the gun doesn't become an unregistered SBR. So you answer your question, no you don't have to worry about pre and post ban configurations. You DO have to remove M16 fire control parts when you take out the RDIAS, and you DO have to have at least a 16" barrel on your AR when the RDIAS is removed.
  23. Meh, she will be partying before the weeks out. Just what she wanted. Maybe someone will Dexter her ass. If you don't watch that show google it.
  24. This is the third or fourth hardback they have done. The first time they have sent a sticker with it though.
  25. Another weird one is that 1.75L is the biggest bottle of liquor they can sell. Almost all the American liquor companies make 3 liter bottles but they are for export only. In Hawaii you can buy hard liquor at the gas station.
