Guardian Armory has some reloading supplies. I even saw primers at Academy last time I was in there.

you might look into Corryton. Plenty of land out there. Hardin Valley is a great area. Land is available, but seems to be being sold in larger tracts to developers. I live about 5 minutes from Turkey Creek, and I hear people shooting all the time. Makes me pretty jealous.

AR 15 Optics for people with an Astigatism

I can't use an EOTech or red dot without glasses. I have prescription Oakleys (tinted and untinted varieties) that double as eye-pro. The glasses help significantly, but, just judging by how other people say the reticle should look, it's not a 100% improvement. As mentioned above, etched reticle with illumination, like a Burris M-Tac, is the way to go. -
We dropped DirecTV last December and picked up a Roku streaming stick. We have Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Prime. We'd probably cancel Amazon Prime if we didn't buy so much stuff using the 2 day shipping. We have internet through Charter, and I didn't know until recently that Charter service comes with "free" access to EPIX, which is actually where a lot of the content on Netflix and Amazon comes from. We also have an HD antenna, but my house is on the side of a hill opposite from the direction of the TV towers, so I don't pick up much. Honestly, we have watched more TV since getting the Roku than we did before (that may not be a good thing. but it's definitely more cost effective). Between PBS Kids, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, and YouTube, there's an enormous amount of kid programming. Our kids love it. To me, sports are pretty much the only reason to still have cable. I really only watch college football, so missing all the bowl games stunk. I might pay for Dish's streaming package during the next college football season.

The Leupold Deltapoint also has a motion sensor that turns the dot on when the gun is moved. Leupold's firedot scopes have the same thing. I have a Fast Fire III, and the auto-adjusting brightness drives me nuts. I always just pick the setting I want and turn it off after every use. Even doing that, my battery just died after a year of very light range use. I agree that the best solution is to buy a red dot that has long enough battery life to just leave it on and change the battery every year.

I'm a big fan of Fury Holsters, and am using one of their rigs for my VP9. They make great gear and are local to Knoxville. I know some retailers, like Bill's Outpost, carry their gear, but I'm not sure if they have any retailers in Nashville. You might give them a call to find out. Just google Fury Holsters. If not, a lot of their gear is available with a quick ship option.

We dropped DirecTV a couple weeks ago and haven't missed it much. We went with the Roku stick, it has worked really well. The Roku 3 is only $30 more right now, but we didn't feel like the features it brings over the stick were useful for our needs.

What will your next gun be? Post a picture of it and why you want one

trying to decide between a USP 45 Tactical or a Colt XSE. More likely than not, though, I'll probably wind up spending that money at John H. Daniel since they're running their BOGO. :yuck: -

oh, and bodybuilding.com is a great resource, too. It's not just for meat-heads. -

If you have a smartphone, I highly recommend downloading an app like MyFitnessPal and using it to track your calories. It has a huge database of nutritional info for just about every food product out there, including restaurant foods, and it even has a bar code scanner that makes getting the data even easier. IMO, one of the most important reasons to use an app like this is that it will help you figure out what foods that you didn't think are that bad, are really killing your diet. For example, putting mayo on your sandwich may cost you 100 calories, whereas sticking with just yellow mustard adds virtually no calories. You'll learn that you can make less drastic sacrifices that allow you to still eat well and lose/maintain weight. Good luck on your transformation! -
I'm interested in hearing more feedback on this. A .308 AR for under a grand? Dear Santa... Have you tried replacing the trigger yet? I read that a lot of people are having difficulty getting aftermarket triggers to work with these guns.

PSA is having a clearance on Colts. They're selling steel and lightweight frame XSE's for about $875. I would get the all steel pony.

The statute you're looking for is TCA 39-17-1307. The section of the statute that said a person with a handgun permit can have a rifle or shotgun in his/her car as long as the chamber is empty has now been deleted and replaced with this: (e)(1) It is an exception to the application of subsection (a) that a person is carrying or possessing a firearm or firearm ammunition in a motor vehicle if the person: (A) Is not prohibited from possessing or receiving a firearm by 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) or purchasing a firearm by § 39-17-1316; and (B) Is in lawful possession of the motor vehicle.

I'm not a Glock guy, but I've always thought that the G19 is the perfect size for just about any application. For me, the P2000 with a flat mag base is close, but gives up a couple rounds to the 19. My P7, which I carry a lot, is pretty much the same size as 19 but comes at the cost of a lot more weight and lot less capacity.

My M&P9 had just the Apex sear and AEK polymer trigger. It was pretty nice.

HK P7 (8+1), 31.7 oz

It's pretty much a striker fired P30. The P30's grip texture is a bit more abrasive, and the slide is a little taller. P30 doesn't have the slide racking "ears" towards the back. Quality wise, despite the lower price, the VP9 seems to be every bit an HK. No corners have been cut. The P30's slide release rattle has been eliminated. The VP9 takes the same mags and sights as the P30, so there's some accessory compatibility there. Most P30 holsters do not seem to fit the VP9. The trigger on the VP9 is much better than both the LEM and V3 versions of the P30. The VP9 trigger is lighter and breaks further forward, with less take-up and shorter reset.

HK P7... Kill two birds with one expensive stone.

Jesse Ventura Sues Wife of Slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle
LawVol replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
Without the lawsuit, Jesse can't earn a living because everyone thinks he wished death upon American soldiers. With the lawsuit, he can't earn a living because everyone hates him for suing the widow of a war hero. BUT, with the lawsuit, he has a $1.8 million judgment (or whatever's left after his lawyers get paid). Seems like he came out ahead. That would be my guess. The jury seemed to think differently. For the record, I don't like Jesse, either. -

If it's true that Ventura's TV and other deals dried up because of Kyle's story, then it's not just spilled milk. -
a lot of credit cards offer rental insurance as an added benefit. It's normally secondary to other insurance, but may cover things your primary auto insurance policy doesn't (like the deductible). They're all different, though, so you'll have to read your credit card agreement to see what it provides.

I'm hopeful that it'll come back pretty soon. You can buy .22's pretty easily online for 10 cents a round right now, so the incentive to flip ammo has to be shrinking.
