  1. Looks like "you know who" has lost his challenge to TCA 39-17-1307(a)(1)... At the Court of Appeals level anyway. I kinda doubt it will go any farther than that, though. If anyone needs some light reading, here's the opinion: https://www.tba.org/sites/default/files/embodyl_052313.pdf
  2. Good call on the range kit. If nothing else, it's worth it for the extra mag, which otherwise would be unobtainable right now.
  3. BTW, Turkey Creek WM had Tula .223 this morning.   ;)
  4. I got the Backorder emails on both M-22 and Thunderbolt, as well.  My friend that ordered the M-22's about 30 minutes after me has only gotten an email saying his order is in stock and will be shipped.
  5. Of the 1000 I used, I had 3 that didn't ignite. They were hard to seat, and I was constantly battling high primers. i probably won't buy them again unless I get desperate.
  6. vontar is correct.  If your dad is a member, your dad can be your sponsor.   I sponsored several guys shortly after I joined.  Besides, lack of a sponsor shouldn't keep you out.  If you email the membership coordinator, they will find someone to meet and sponsor you.
  7.   I usually stop by the Turkey Creek Walmart a couple times a week after dropping off my daughter at school.  I normally see Tula there at least once a week with that system.
  8. There's a thread about Herters on m4carbine.net that basically comes to the conclusion that Herters = repackaged Tula. I've had no trouble finding Tula at walmart for $0.26/rd. I've bought enough that I usually leave it on the shell when I see it now.
  9. speedshooterspecialties.com should have the parts you need.
  10. HK P7. Why? It's an unique pistol that's no longer made. Its all steel and was made with absolutely no slop, which, along with the fixed barrel, makes it laser accurate. It has a great trigger and is incredibly safe, yet quick to get into action. Also, several cool movie bad guys use it. Downsides are that it gets hot quickly, is heavy, and has a relatively low capacity. Its uniqueness can also be a downside.
  11. Big Ed's
  12. I keep thinking about those pictures of the Boston bombers shooting it out with the cops in the middle of the street. I'd like to think that in my neighborhood, those guys would've been taking rifle fire from at least one second story window. I know a camera wouldn't be the first thing I'd grab.
  13. The recent manufacture M&P's, like Dec 2012 on, have much improved triggers, so make sure you're lookin at new stock. The trigger breaks clean on the newer guns, and the reset is short and positive. For $40, the Apex hard sear got my trigger pull to about 4 lbs. The good thing about the M&P's trigger pull is that it is fairly easy to modify. The apex FSS is incredible... Maybe a little bit too much so.
  14. I bought an M&P 9mm at the beginning of year, and I like it so far.  I put Ameriglo I-dot Pro sights on it, an Apex Hard sear, and stippled the backstrap.  It's fairly good to go in that set up.  The biggest problem right now is that magazines are impossible to get, and it has been that way since mid-December.  Magazines are easy to find for the other handguns on your list.     If I didn't reload 9mm, I would strongly consider buying an M&P .40.  I see .40 ammo on the shelf at Walmart all time.  Not so much with 9mm.
  15. Turkey Creek had a ton of XM193 in a white box this morning. First I had seen of that. Stopped by on my way home from work, and it had disappeared. In its place was a ton of PPU .40. I've been having much better luck getting .223 and 5.56 than .22lr. I don't shoot much .22, but it would be nice to get a brick.
  16. As of about 30 minutes ago, Knoxville East Town had  380, 45, 9mm, 357 mag, and I think I saw 30-30.  I got the last 2 boxes of .223.
  17. Leon and Rocky Houston also come to mind.
  18. another interesting read, this is an unreported Tenn. Court of Criminal Appeals case from 2008:   http://www.tba2.org/tba_files/TCCA/2008/hooperd_062508.pdf   Bounty hunters convicted of kidnapping, facilitation of burglary, assault, and theft.  New trials were granted on the kidnapping and facilitation of burglary convictions because the judge messed up the jury instructions.
  19. Attorney General's opinion on the matter, from 2001:   http://www.tn.gov/attorneygeneral/op/2001/op/op20.pdf

Another vote for SSA-E.  You will not regret spending the money on Geissele.   If you like the SSA, check out the G2S.  It's very similar and will save you some bucks.
  21. Bring in one of those old suits to John H. Daniel and get 50% off.  A fully tailored suit from one of their basic fabrics will run you about $450 with that deal.     Most of my stuff is from Jos. A Bank.  Their suits are ok, but the constant juggling of "sales" is kind of annoying.   I pretty much always need some alterations done to their suits, so that drives up the total cost.  Frankly, a fully tailored suit from John H. Daniel would be a better deal.      Jos. A Bank's tailored-fit Traveler series shirts are excellent, though.  I usually snatch those up when they run a 3 for 1 deal.
  22. Yours looks really good.   I worked up the courage to stipple my M&P's back strap a few nights ago since replacements are only $3.  I've seen a lot of jacked up stipple jobs, and after trying it out myself, I wonder how so many people could screw it up so badly.    Once I'm more confident that the M&P is going to stick around long-term, I may stipple the rest of the grip.  For now, grip tape is working pretty well.
  23. PSA has PMags in stock for $12.95....  another step towards things returning to normal.     I might as well cancel my Brownells order now.
  24.   You can use a  Dillon 1200 case trimmer in a Hornady press.  I don't think you can go wrong either way.
  25.   1000 round boxes of .223?  What was the price on those?
