  1. Agreed. If a frisking is required to see a movie...I'll pass. Save a lot of money that way anyhow.
  2. If it were me, I'd buy these from Chota http://littleriveroutfitters.com/store/product.php?productid=18529&cat=1354&page=1 They are a Knoxville based company with a no-nonsense warranty against defects. The link above is to a fly shop in Townsend Tn in the foothills of the Smokies. They have free shipping all the time. The above linked pair is $169, they also have a pair for $229 which have reinforced legs for extra durability but if you're not doing a lot of kneeling or climbing over rocks, probably not necessary. For your daughter, I would look at the Redington brand at Sportsman's, or the Caddis brand from there. If she is small enough might even fit in youth size which would get you under $90. I would steer clear of Bass Pro Red Head or White River Brands, they have been known to leak right away. And there is nothing worse than leaky waders.
  3. not to be too personal, but what is your price range? I will help you locate what I think are the best value.
  4. This is correct. Its not PROPERLY posted. A tiny sign in one location doesn't suffice. it needs to be on all entrances. Same goes for West Town mall. This doesn't mean they cant ask you to leave, just like the story Wewo posted above. If you don't leave, then its Trespassing. Moral of the story is, Conceal, and do it well, and you wont have any issues
  5. Reports are saying the 'Poachers" are literally ringing phones off the hook! I totally agree. If SMU was worthy of the death penalty for paying players, and then lying about it after the second offense. This should have warranted such a penalty if my opinion. Time will tell how much this will hurt the football program. The sad thing is the football program revenue supports all the other non-revenue sports. So the entire athletic dept at Penn State will suffer.
  6. My advice, if you buy breathable waders , buy name brand. It's worth the money Simms Patagonia Chota Orvis I personally have a pair of Simms Freestones. Which I believe can me bought for under $200. Neoprene are good for winter but can be exhaustingly hot in summer, especially in the South. I also prefer stocking foot waders and separate wading boots. They just fit better and make wading much more stable. Others opinion may vary.
  7. Thanks guys. I think I'll be leaving Chatanooga on Tuesday after a meeting heading toward Nashville. I'll have to stop by the Outpost, if nothing else but to browse.
  8. Thanks G, I'll have to pay him a visit. I'm gonna be traveling some in the next couple months so I thought I'd see some new gun shops and maybe partake. For sale?
  9. Who has the bet selection of 'in-stock' ARs? Location doesn't matter, just wondering who has the best selection in the state and where are they located
  10. I use Acadamy, I dont want to be mistaken for shopping at Gander Mtn.
  11. who knows, the shooter could have duped one of his "friends" into helping him sneak into the theater to see the movie for free. He very well could have had an intentional accomplis, or he could have had an unintentional accomplis.
  12. makes me sick. I watched a cell phone video on Fox News from outside the theater. Its truely saddening to see those young poeple so terrified, running for their lives. most of the patrons were reported to be between 15-25. I always am armed, but like Eric said, im not sure you could have saved anyone with the manner of his planned and focused attack.
  13. Cool just send me a message that week sometime.
  14. Tiger lives there for a reason. You're in 365/yr golf country.
  15. You have to realize Dicks in Knoxville is on the west side near Farragut and Cedar Bluff. I totally can see way more team sports items sold there than hunting. The Maryville store still has a large selection of hunting/guns as they are in a more rural locale. I actually worked at the DSG in 2002 while in college. The 'lodge' area had Very little business except for oct-Christmas.
  16. I like the store but not for guns or hunting. They have the market cornered for name brand shoes and athletic wear in Knoxville before Academy came.
  17. Sounds good! Not this weekend but next (July 28-29). I can play anytime Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I'll play anywhere too, so we'll keep an eye on the weather and make a plan next week.
  18. All I have to say is CCA created its rep with most of the local guys. I don't see how this thread is disrespecting anyone or their family. Speculating on rumors is what we do here, just because it happened locally and not in Florida, shouldn't matter. I understand it's your place of employment but you shouldn't take things personally.
  19. They sell used Gen2 models for $549. YOU CAN GET A BRAND NEW ONE FOR THAT!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry for yelling
  20. oh when I say "bad" I mean like 105, bad. but its a work in progress I'm up for playing anytime anyone says 'go' as long as you aren't embarrassed by playing with me.
  21. I go in just like others, to browse. Their prices on Columbia and other such clothing is usually on par, but guns and related things are way too high. I actually leave angry when I see someone buying a new Glock for 50-100 more than they could get at even CCA, and get equally ####ty service. i know its their responsibility to research prices, but I feel Gander is preying on the less informed.
  22. I don't know squat about gaming laptops , however my 19 yo brother-in-law is a HUGE gamer and he has a Sager. With all the upgrades and such it ran about $2000. All I know is that all his friends are jealous, haha.
  23. So I took up golf about a year or so ago, played 2-3 times and the was inflicted with a back injury. So now post surgery and 90% recovered I've begun playing again. I really enjoy the game even though I suck pretty bad. Just wondered if any fellow TGOers played.
  24. Wow I've been off the forum for a few weeks and totally missed all this. Totally crazy. Very sad people feel death is a better option.
  25. I have a full size TRP without rail. Is absolutely awesome. I carry it often!
