  1. I think Mr Pincus is speaking for his experience and admits his class is extremely harsh environment. I just think if your going to the grocery you're not gonna need a battle tested pistol that can run 200 rounds continuously without failure; hell I only carry 2 mags. But I admit I don't own a 3" 1911 for this very reason. But I do carry a 5" 1911 50% of the time.
  2. Exactly. That's why I carry a 10mm it's faster than .40 and a 1 whole mm bigger than 9x19. Thoughts? Oh and I carry a 1911 too. Opinions?
  3. Picked up a Lyman 4 punch set at Randy's today. It was $18 and it had the sizes I wanted and seemed nice enough. Thanks 3gundave for the suggestion.
  4. Good luck G, rest assured that my pathologist father-in-law agrees that testicular cancer usually doesn't present pain. You very well could have a bulge in the vas differense known as Epididymitus. this is basically a wall of the tubes that feeds the 'boys' weekens and blows out like a ballon. I know this because I've had it before. Feels very much like getting T-bagged. Now it could be anything, so stay calm and let the docs due their work.
  5. Yeah, I don't see it as anyone getting 'approval' to carry a certain gun. Most are just wanting pros and cons of a specific platform. I've never seen a thread "_____ is what I carry, is that ok?" unless it was in reference to a small caliber.
  6. I'd even settle for the hospital discharge papers.
  7. I don't even read emails from Amazon or any other store I buy from. It gets an automatic delete. I wouldn't know if I got the tax email or not.
  8. I just saw the Bostich at Lowes. Unfortunately I need a 3/32 and that was not in the set. I'll check locally tomorrow then just go online if I can't find some.
  9. Replacing the safety assembly on a PX4sc storm. They would probably be fine but I'd like to buy a decent set. Home Depot had a 3 punch set, but all of the 1/16" punches we're bent, IN THE PACKAGE. all 6 packages were the same. If I bend it that's one thing, but I'm not gonna buy them per-bent.
  10. I load Hornady XTP for hunting rounds in 41 mag. But it doesn't seem economical for Self defense loads. $40 can load 2 hi cap mags and be done with it.
  11. Hmm that place never even crossed my mind. Thanks
  12. Anyone know where I can buy a good set locally (Knoxville)? I can buy online, but I'm impatient.
  13. I've been using Unique, and as David (dlm37015) says, its called unique for a reason. Hornady 230 gr FMJ, 5.2 gr Unique (min load, working up), 1.270 OAL, crimp .470 I would make the OAL as long as you can without exceeding max and that will still reliable feed in you gun. the closer to the Lands the bullet is the more accurate that round. now if you load to max OAL and it doesn't chamber you may be hitting the lands and need to shorten incrementally until it chambers. I haven't shot alot of these loads so I will let you know how "dirty" it is.
  14. Sad to see an old TV legend pass. MSN article said he was 76, CNN reports 83.
  15. Great dogs very smart and trainable. Most need a lot of exercise or can be very hyper and anxious. If kept indoors you need to make sure you have enough time to dedicate to exercise. If kept in a back yard they have been known as escape artists. If I were you I would evaluate my living situation and free time and the. Make a decision. But this is pretty much them same with any hunting breed dog.
  16. I saw a PMR-30 at the last gun show in Kingsport. Don't remember price.
  17. I've found maybe 20-30 this year. But my odds are much higher than average. Permenone on the clothes does make a noticeable difference, the OFF on top of that and chances of finding one embedded are much less. I don't feel like this year is worse than recent past but I know population varies throughout regions. I do believe that some people are more likely to attract certain pests. I have no scientific proof but I rarely get bit by chiggers even when others near me get covered. I must taste bitter like my persona
  18. Wow those are pretty high, especially the FDE Glocks. That's ridiculous. Here they are the same price as the black ones about $549 is standard. I guess you should just move back
  19. Quite the contrary. It's the lack of 'that attitude' that will reelect Obama and change America forever. People think 4 more years will of Obama will get true revolution. But what if it just changed us to a socialist state for the next 100yrs.
  20. I've refrained from these threads for the most part as I'm a 'Anyone But Obama' guy. But it seems many feel the country needs to suffer to change. I'm not a fan of suffering and I feel that many would change their mind once true hardships came along.
  21. I like coffee for the taste but also like the caffeine. I can go without it though, my day isn't ruined without coffee even though I drink it most days. I really enjoy a good coffee brewed correctly. But I like any old coffee as well as long as its not too watery.
  22. I interviewed for a job in Lake Charles La in August. It was the god awfulest heat and humidity. I'm sure living there one could cope as long as your career wasn't working outside.
  23. Glad you clould learn something as well. I figured how to crimp and seat in the same step with the seater die. It just took some adjusting the die depth and seater depth. Now they come out bullet seated to 1.270 crimped .470. Case gauge is definite money well spent.
  24. Crimped to .473 Crimped to .470 Amazing what difference .003 makes. Thanks for all the help
  25. Sorry I'm gonna miss the fun today. Jeff buy me something nice.
