Eotech 512 with YHM riser

No reason to get excited. Washington would ruin Jesus Christ himself in the first few months. We're going to get a small variation of the same old crap, no matter who wins.

My Eotech had the front sight almost dead nuts in the middle with the standard mount on a flattop. Since my front sight is a standard A2, I had to stick a YHM riser under mine. A flip-up front sight would be better. Now the Eotech is almost too high, but it's better than having the front sight in the middle of the sight picture. Didn't have the problem with the Primary Arms sight. I'm sure it's the same with a real Aimpoint mounted for lower 1/3.

You usually want a lower 1/3 cowitness with a red dot sight. A red dot is for fast target aquisition, so the last thing you want to do is try to use your iron sights with it. A lower 1/3 cowitness gets the front iron sight out of the way when you are using a red dot, but will still allow you to line up your backup irons through the optic if it fails. If you want cheap and good, try a Primary Arms M4. It comes with a mount that's already set up for lower 1/3 cowitness. You want a flip-up front iron sight for backup. Stones River has a couple of 200 yard lanes. Southside has a 400 yard range.

I never get the best price, but always have my stuff in a period of days. You can sell cheaper if you don't stock anything.

I'm givin' up. If everybody insist on calling magazines clips, I'm gonna do it too. Just bought me a buttload of 30 round PMAG clips last week. Gonna buy some more clips too, before they ban the damn things.

I agree. There are a lot of stories about Stones River too. My interaction with those folks amounts to chewing the fat and joking around. By now, most of them know me.
