  1. TMMT may have ready access to the numbers. I've spent a lot of time in Memphis (months), and there seems to be a lot more crime there than in Nashville. Nashville still has its share. I keep hoping Mr. Serpas will pull some of his resources off traffic duty and and focus on it some more. Even the Tennesean won't be dumb enough to blame guns when those numbers are going up, and crime is going down.
  2. A friend of mine is the general manager at that station. I'll ask him what's up. EDIT: Dave sez, " Yeh, this guy has been a pain in the ass. See attached press release." PRESS RELEASE March 31, 2010 For more information contact: Neil Larrimore 980 KMBZ Program Director (913) 744-3780 It’s been a controversy that Entercom Kansas City never wanted to be involved with, but now we’re making sure that the groups who were targeted are going to benefit. Glenn Miller recently bought commercial time on two of our stations, NewsRadio 980 KMBZ and WDAF "106.5 The Wolf" in connection with his write-in candidacy for the U.S. Senate from Missouri. His commercials were filled with racially biased and anti-semitic claims. Even though we object to the content of these commercials, the law provides that a legally qualified candidate for federal office has a right to purchase uncensored broadcast air time. Entercom Kansas-City Vice President Dave Alpert said "While Federal Law requires us to air the commercials, we are not comfortable keeping the money." Today, Entercom Kansas City has announced that all of the money paid by Glenn Miller to run his advertisements on our stations , has been donated to the Olathe Chapter of the NAACP and a local Jewish Charity in Greater Kansas City. Entercom has also stated that if we are required to run additional commercials from Glenn Miller any money received in the future will be similarly donated.
  3. Glocks suck and 1911's rock Just Kiddin'
  4. Some politicians and campaign strategists are intimately familiar with it. I could name some, but it's more fun to read the article and make your own list.
  5. They may have a lot of dimwitted policies about carry. The video didn't cover any of that
  6. I've seen this before. The thing that really caught my attention was the sound absorbing tubes. Looks like they're lined with 2" Sonex. I'm betting they eat most of the sound from the muzzle blast. The US has nothing on these folks. It would be tough to invade Tennessee. New Jersey... not so tough
  7. An HD shotgun has 50+ ft/lbs of recoil with 3" buckshot loads, and will always have more recoil than an AR. Most of the defensive shotgun trainers recommend iron sights. I bought one of these for my 870. Currently, it's not mounted. I will most likely buy a replacement barrel with iron sights sometime in the future. They have a rail mount equivalent TruGlo
  8. I hope you're joking. The Brady Bunch would love to get their hands on this quote.
  9. I've always found it real helpful when deciding how to zero a scope.
  10. I've had the same fear of being caught with my LCP :-)
  11. Dexadine Ballistics Software - ballistic data for shooting and reloading and some more info... Oehler Research, Inc.--Ballistic Explorer BTW... I have a .270 sporter rifle. It's a sweet round. Necked down 30-06, so it's a little faster, and a little flatter.
  12. I think we all helped with the highjack. Low rings is GOOD
  13. The .270 ain't so bad, at least not compared to its parent, the 30-06. Red trace is the .270. Wind drift is worse, but it's flatter. I tried to pick similar BC's EDIT: Wind drift is not worse once I equalized the wind speed in both traces.
  14. Unfortunately, just AT&T for now. i have a couple of ballistics aps loaded on mine, one with a JBM engine and a decent library. 20 bucks for the ap
  15. Ah... working off the top line of the berm. The picture I saw was a tactical rifle. Iphone running ballistics software. There's a built-in level in the iphone. I'll try to dig up the pic
  16. That explains that picture I saw of an Iphone bracketed to the side of a rifle.
  17. You're right, and I didn't think about that. Thanks for setting me straight
  18. I wouldn't change, unless you're trying shoot dimes inside of 25 yards, and don't want to correct for the trajectory. You have a rainbow trajectory with any gun, and it's only going to be dead accurate at two places. Most of my scopes are as low as I can get them, but it's more about preference. Doesn't affect "accuracy", just the relationship between line of sight and trajectory. If you zero the scope at 200 yards (or any other range), mounting height doesn't matter at that range.
  19. Good guys win again. Hope the thug goes to prison.
  20. Read about them yesterday. Looks like some anti-government folks that could wind up being fed and housed by the government.
