  1.   No one should have to buy a new slide. I imagine it would be covered under warranty. Slides should not crack when run over by a truck, let alone when trying to change the sights.
  2. I love GT Dist. Every time I drive back to TN I always manage to go through Chattanooga when they are closed.
  3. This is my take on the M&P quality: http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum/defensive-carry-guns/176068-catastrophic-shield-failure-aaahhhhhh.html Cracked slide which also happened to Hickok45.
  4.   Me too.  With the price of .223 being so high I'm thinking that something in 9mm might be cool. I've already told the GF she could have this one so that might be even better.   What magazines would it use?
  5.   FIFY....
  6. I've always heard Kimber's are garbage but I love the looks and the 4 or 5 that I've shot ran flawlessly.   I've only shot one Sig 1911 and it had a FTF on every shot. Just my limited experience, I'd go with the Kimber.
  7. I would still go to Big South Fork. There won't be anyone out there and I'm pretty sure you won't be breaking any laws just because the govt is shut down. I never cared much for Frozen Head.
  8. I bet $50 the officer that was shot was a result of friendly fire.   Hope he makes a full recovery!
  9.   it was $40 at my store just 2 weeks ago. Damn.
  10.   I was going to say the same thing. There is no way for them to close off the trails at BSF.   I would suggest the Twin Arches loop trail or the Honey Creek Loop. Both are fantastic.
  11. I received a 5% raise this year, I suspect it will be a wash when we find out our new premiums. So frustrating to know I work hard all year for this raise only for it to be pissed away.   Last year I got 3% but I hardly noticed a difference because of the payroll tax they brought back or increased at the same time.
  12.   It appears OC(in a proper holster) would have actually prevented this issue.   Or just having a holster at all.
  13.   This is a great point however there is something to be said about learning these "life lessons" and other things from your parents. My dad is great but he didn't show me any of the useful skills I would love to have. Being a first time homeowner has been an interesting experience so far.
  14.   Agreed.
  15. That trailer is spot on. Nice call.
  16. I just emailed H.R. to ask what changes I should expect.   Sorry to hear you got screwed, I suspect this will be the norm and not the exception.
  17.   Very nice. I stopped in last week and they didn't have a single handgun round. Only shotgun shells.
  18. I actually love Duck Dynasty. On my way now to get a T shirt....
  19. I know nothing about hunting shotguns but I have both brands for home defense and I prefer the Winchester.
  20. Something must be in the air. My cousin found a .22 revolver while fishing today at Norris lake. It had obviously washed up on shore and was still in a holster. Rusted but functional. He said he was going to clean it up and keep it.I told him he needs to call the sheriff first.
  21.   That was my exact thought as well.
  22. Here's an update for anyone who cares. I spoke to a few KPD officers today while at the game about the switch to Sig. One officer said "it was like going from a Ford Focus to a Cadillac". Both officers were very pleased with the new Sigs and said accuracy has improved across the board. Neither knew of anyone who missed their old Glocks. I asked him if anyone missed the consistent trigger pull you get with Glock and he said no. "Once you get past the first shot it's like butter".   I found this to be interesting and somewhat surprising but I'll admit I'm a huge fan of Glock. I'm sure those p220's are nice though. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the new p227 Sig came out with.     Carry on.
  23. I suspect this had more to do with the message on the sign than enforcing some city ordinance but I could be wrong.
  24. I like this one also.
  25. I'm confused, is this picture good or bad?   Compared to what I saw today at 2 different stores this picture is fantastic. Looks like a decent amount of handgun ammo on the shelves.
