It's funny, I lived in Sarasota FL for one year when I was 9 and saw armadillos all the time. At least 4-5 times a week.   I've been in central FL for 2 years and I've only seen 1 dead on the road.

That's nice, but there is no way I would pay $1,700 for it, or $2,200 for that matter.   I really like the SR556 too but it's also overpriced.

I wish I had words to describe how disappointed and disgusted I am with this entire ordeal. I was arguing with a coworker today who swears we're better off under Obama despite the fact that he couldn't name a single reason why.    On Hannity this morning they were interviewing people and asking who was to blame for the govt. shutdown, Obama or Bush. Guess how many people said Bush?    There is no hope.

I remember you stating in another thread that you kept a rifle in your truck. I'm assuming they didn't get that?   Was none of this captured on Wal-Mart security?

  Very well said. Timestepper, your example is exactly why these programs exist. Unfortunately I wonder if you are the exception rather than the norm.   We need to find a way to curb the fraud while not hurting people such as yourself that truely need help. It's a fine line.

  Really? I was just watching a show on Discovery or the History Channel a few days ago that said there were a couple hundred black gangs in LA.    Not saying you're wrong because I have no idea, but it contradicts everything in the show. 

This is why it's a good idea to have enough savings for at least a few months. 6 months is a good goal but I know it's not easy for everyone. I'm still working on it.

My GF loves hers. Sig fixed the bugs that all the early ones had and her's has been flawless. The extended magazines feel really nice.   And Mac, cocked and locked is the way to go on these.

Once while working at Aubreys in Knoxville I had a group of guys come in on a Friday night. They walked right past the hostess and sat themselves at our biggest table. There were only 4 of them.     Being the unlucky bastard that night, they picked my section. When taking their order one of the guys pointed to the heading on the menu that said "burgers and sandwiches" and said "I'll have that".... I was temped to ring in every item under that section just to be a dick. I honestly think he was illiterate and those guys had never been to a sit down restaurant in their lives. 

I see this quite often in Orlando. It's usually a hispanic family. Hispanics also love to tow vehicles with their personal cars. I've seen Honda Civic's towing Ford F-250's using a piece of crappy rope. Also, the power at various traffic lights tends to got out here semi regularly. Apparently I'm the only person in Orlando who knows this should be treated as a 4 way stop rather than the Daytona 500. I hate this city.

Wal-Mart started selling individual Mountain House entrees about 6 months ago. You can find them in the sporting goods section. Competitive prices but you will get a better deal when ordering online.    And as someone mentioned, buying 1 or 2 is a good way to test them. My GF and I ate one a few weeks ago while camping and it was surprisingly good.    The eggs and bacon on the other hand were terrible. 

You will find the best prices at Thereadystore.com They run sales at least once a month.   During Sept the had 40% off all mountain house.

Get a strong paint stir stick, some electrical tape and 3 magnets from Home Depot/Lowes etc. Lastly you will need to screws.   The magnets rest on the stick, you hold in place by wrapping the tape around both. You need to leave enough room on both ends of the stick to screw it into your desired location.   I have a Bersa Thunder resting under my coffee table using this method. It's hidden but still easily accessable.

  Make sure you triple check you back for anything that would get you in trouble. I believe Costa Rico is actually somewhat gun friendly but I just read a story about a guy who is currently locket up in India because he forgot to remove 8 .22LR rounds from his travel bag. He's SOL.
