Got a chance to watch it. Not impressed. :bored: You aren't kidding. After about 30 minutes, I was kind of hoping that zombie in the church would've caught up with the druggie and killed him off. Would speed up the pace a bit Same here.... I might even go as far as cheering for a commercial. Oh well, it's that time of year for Sunday Night Football anyway...

Fear The Walking Dead (Los Angeles spinoff)
NextExit replied to monkeylizard's topic in General Chat
I'll catch up some other time. Still stuck on TNT with The Last Ship & Falling Skies. -
I think both. One of the vendors send they were surprised at how may shirts and flags they sold at Watkins Glen. I said "All these years and no one thought twice about seeing the flag until NASCAR opened a can of worms." I think part of the decline is cost. $90, $150, or more for a ticket $20+ for parking, $6 beer, $5 cheeseburger, + hats, shirts, and it can easily total over $200. However, there's no commercials and the fans are decent. Never had any problems there. Traffic is a pain but what sporting event isn't? Twice a year is worth it to me... besides, my Uncle comes down to that race so we get time to visit. To each there own, but about the only sporting event I care to watch on TV is football. I never had an interest in soccer until I was stationed in Germany. Went to a game and loved it but still can't watch it on TV... it's just not the same. I find NASCAR the same. It's OK on TV but I'd rather be there. :2cents:

I must be a pack-rat because I've only sold one gun since I started buying them. Nice to know if I ever need $$$ that I can sell some. (some, not all ;) ) I have a few people interested in my Desert Eagle but I think that would be the last one I ever sell. I think guns should be part of everyone's 401K. The stock market crash hasn't lowered their value. :2cents:

Caitlyn Jenner must be jealous... :stunned:

Just got back from the race. Guess they're not going hardcore on the Confederate flag as I thought they might be. There was a guy with a rebel flag track side and no one asked him to leave. Plenty of mini flags about.... hats and t-shirts too. Guess they're only on the lookout for one of those 10 foot flags. :squint: On the way in, there was a vendor selling t-shirts with the Confederate flag on it and it said "If this shirt offends you, you need a history lesson." I bought it and put it on... got quite a few compliments. So yes, Bristol is still Bristol. Guess they don't want to tick off their fans. Attendance is down and they don't want to make it worse.

Weather. I was either in the building with base ops or out at the observation site near the runway. All that great beer at the NCO club & at Fred's... and who's bright idea was it to put slot machines in those places?

I was stationed at Ramstein 25 years ago. When I arrived the exchange rate was $1=DM2.10 and when I left 2 years later it was down to DM1.38 Started to plummet after the wall came down. Beautiful country and terrific people but very expensive to live in. Had gas ration coupons. Cost of cigs was ridiculous (good time to quit) I will say this about Germany... the beer was the best I've had. I never realized how bad American beer was until I got to Germany.

I thought the big announcement was she lost her ride. <_< The only reason Tony kept her on is so that he doesn't look so bad. Kevin & Kurt are having a great year. May as well keep her around so he doesn't look like the dead weight of the organization. :2cents:

Birds tweet, I don't. I'll check here for breaking news. ^_^

I'll stay here. If things get really bad, then I'd be all for succession. If this country ends up looking like the Middle East, then I'll go to Belize. They speak English but their gun laws are restrictive. As for those Estonian women, how do I import one? :dirty:

And maybe that's why its only $70/month. Buy it and you're covered, lease it and you're on your own. :squint:

Good info Hozzie, I didn't know any of that. I read the small print: $3,000 down + tax + $595 acquisition fee. 10kmi/year then .25/mile. Lease is closed end with purchase option. Lessee responsible for maintenance, repair, excess wear and tear. And I agree Sam1, normally I wouldn't consider leasing but at $70/month for 2 years, that's better than a DirecTV agreement. :P

First off, I don't want to start a lease vs buy debate. This isn't about that. I'm curious who determines lease specials... the dealer of the manufacturer? There's a Dodge dealer in Queens, NY that has a heck of a lease deal on a 2015 Dodge Dart.... $70/month! (for 24 months) Chrysler 200 LTD lease $100/month. :stunned: (Think any of the local Dodge dealers would laugh at me if I asked them to match this? ) I don't see anything like this in the Knox newspaper. I recall about a year ago I saw an ad but it was $149/month lease. Big difference. So I'm thinking this is a dealer decision but wondering if someone here knows...

tartanphantom: thanks for posting that link. Quite a selection they have and that Mosin Sporter is tempting (too bad they're out of stock) And look at all those flags they have! They're about 3 hours away from me, but I may have to make a road trip. I should stock up on a few battle flags for my trip to the Bristol night race. :dirty:

A few years ago, I ordered a couple of vacuum tubes (yes, vacuum tubes) from a guy in MN. After two weeks and they hadn't arrived, I ran the tracking number and saw it was going back and forth between Knoxville and Greeneville, TN for about a week. I went to the Post Office and they said there was nothing they could do about it. The shipper would have to handle it. The shipper was unable to resolve it and refunded my money. Just for the heck of it, I kept checking the tracking number. A month later, it arrived in my mailbox in perfect condition.

Best place I've had a steak at in this area is Puleo's (exit 398). I'd like to try Ruth's Chris but too expensive. I always get mine well done. If it's red, it ain't dead. :2cents:

Fear The Walking Dead (Los Angeles spinoff)

I'd like to see Walking Dead - San Francisco. It would last one episode. The mayor would say, "We can't kill them... we need to learn how to coexist." By the end of the episode, all the living would be eaten. -

Ah yes.... the 70's gave us the Pinto, the 80's gave us the Yugo. Can't decide which was worse. My Aunt had a Yugo. Always left the keys in the ignition and the doors unlocked. She would come out of the store and say "crap, it's still here." It was unbelievably theft proof. ;)

Hmmm.... its been awhile since I made a "bad beer" run. I'd like to get a few cases of Schmidt's, Old Style, Blatz, & Grain Belt. :D

Add me to the list of satisfied MTD owners. I've had mine 6 years now and have yet to change the deck belt. Also, AFAIK, its made in Martin, TN. :)
