6 pickings on beans?!?! I've never seen worthwhile yield past 2. How'd you do that? Our garden has been very mediocre so far this year, we got a late start. Tomatoes, okra, cucumbers, and zucchini should be coming in soon. The jalapeños are in and quite hot, possibly owing to the cayenne right next to it.

Concealed carry locations, Yes/No/Maybe
peejman replied to Toy4Rick's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Most places are required to post a legally compliant sign. It has to have the gun pictograph with the slash across it and the verbiage from the TCA. The pictograph alone is not acceptable. When the law changed to allow carry in parks, it did not require signs to be removed. So it's possible there are some old signs that have no effect. The laws here are intentionally confusing and/or vague. It's annoying but such is life. Check out all the pinned threads at the top of this subforum. -
There's nothing in Erwin. Mars Hill is close enough to do the Asheville things. Elizabethton has some neat history stuff. Go up to Carvers Gap next to Roan Mountain park. Linville Falls, Boone, Blowing Rock, ..... Its also curvy motorcycle road nirvana.

Burchett can think that all he wants. Black programs don't exist for a reason. Members of Congress might be shocked and mildly insulted at the idea that there's things they don't need to know. Meanwhile, a few people see this coverage, smile to themselves, and go on with their daily lives.

Some complain about the texture out of the blender if you like the sauce a little chunkier, but it gets cooked, canned, and cooked again, so it's gonna be pretty smooth by then anyway.
-
It's less messy in the blender.

The driver's lawyer will be more rich.

Fair enough I guess. Just seems rather nit picky. Kinda like getting pulled over for an expired tag.

Has it ever been released why he ran? Other warrants, drugs, ...? Why would he get pulled over for a mud flap? I get how picky they are with commercial vehicles, but blue lights for a mud flap? Wouldn't a call to the company suffice? And the cop who released the dog needs to answer for that. I also get that dogs get excited but K9s should be held to a higher standard.

I'd like to see this one, but I doubt my wife would get through it. If you haven't watched "The Chosen", you should. It's fantastic. https://new.thechosen.tv/

I echo what several have said. The fact that that guy had no insurance gives me near zero confidence that he'll come up with cash, no matter how nice he seems. If he does come up cash, I'd handle it with gloves. I hope I'm wrong about that. I'd get a quote from the Toyota dealer in addition to whoever your agent recommends. I wouldn't be surprised if the OEM headlight assembly is $500 and the bumper cover is $1000 just for the parts. $4000 total wouldn't shock me. Your agent's advice to not file is partly because he has a threshold for pursuing uninsured claims. If it's less than that number, he has to absorb it or at least part of it. Anecdotally, my wife did slightly worse damage to a car a few years ago. First claim in 20 years. Our rates didn't change.

Details on the sight? I need to figure out if it will fit my son's bow. -
Dad had triple bypass 15 years ago and a friend had it 2 months ago. Recovery is a process but I bet you'll be surprised at how much better you feel once you're healed up. Hope it goes well.

NEW TO THE LENOIR CITY AREA, LOOKING FOR A RANGE
peejman replied to labguy4's topic in New Member Introductions
Welcome! ORSA is the biggest local club. I'm not aware of any game farms around, my brother in law is part of one in Alabama. Most hunting here is on private land (leased) or WMA's. -
I believe state law says that, yes. But that's the point, what the law says isn't worth much until it gets argued over in court and decided on by a judge. Laws are one thing, legal precedent providing interpretation of that law is something different. It's far more complex and gray than it should be.

It's that time of year....

My great uncle Bob was a belly gunner in a B-17 in Europe. He didn't keep his gun, but I can imagine shipping the whole turret home may have been problematic.

I sautee squash, zucchini, potatoes, and onions in the skillet or on the blackstone pretty regularly. I usually use more herb based seasoning because my wife likes that better. There's a lemon rosemary that's really good.

What do you want to make? There's usually craftsmans guilds for furniture makers, wood turners, etc. Surely there's a few of those around your area. Dad was always a hobby wood worker. He got deep into wood turning when he retired. He's in 3 guilds around Chattanooga and goes to symposiums a couple times a year. The guild folks are usually very welcoming and happy to help a newbie. You might also try the maker spaces. They have classes for various things as well.

If the corn itself hasn't really formed yet and so isn't particularly heavy, the stalks may recover if not broken.

Maybe it spins freely because there's a compression release? That would prevent it launching you into the bushes if it hits compression mid kick.
