Brainerd Road is worse than Coolidge Park. Since I moved out here I have seen some of the finest examples of human stupidity anyone could ever hope to witness. My wife almost ran a man over because he was pushing a buggy down the middle of the road, at night. And I mean it was close, he had to dive out of her way. People are always standing in the middle of the turning lane at night. It is beyond ridiculous.

Every team does have coachs responsible for keeping up with their players. It has been that way for a long time. Yes, every team does have their trouble makers, college kids aren't saints. Some programs seem to have a little bit more of a problem with this than others. Miami, Florida State, and yes TN, have a well docunmented history of serious problems with players. I believe this is a direct result of what kind of kids you recruit. I was responding to a specific request for instances of TN players getting in off field trouble. As far as ND continuing to struggle because they are independent, I of course disagree. That is a debate that could go on for another 6 pages. There are really no good reasons for ND to join a conference.

If you really think the last charges are the only one's UT players have ever had you are sadly delusional. Did you google the Fulmer award? You think UT has that kind of rap for no reason? Off the top of my head I can recall Fulmer's players getting in trouble for having tutors do their homework for the athletes, Travis Henry getting caught selling cocaine out of his car. Tee Martin's bank account mysteriously growing by 5,000 bucks the morning after the National Championship game and a littany of shoplifting and DUI charges. Do I think all ND players are saints? Of course not but they don't have anywhere near the trouble that UT players have. And that is just their football team, I won't even get started on their basketball team. This is the kind of trouble UT players get in in Knoxville, I'm not even gonna get started on the trouble many UT players have had once they went pro. Stallworth, Leonard Little, Travis Henry, I can go all day. Does this suffice? Are you serious espn doesn't cover ND? ABC or ESPN2 plays almost all of ND's away games. Lou Holtz gives them at least 20 minutes of air time every week with Mark Mays. If you actually take a look around you may realize that ND is one of the most followed and covered sports programs around. Which is why most people either love them or hate them, there is no middle ground. I could give a rats a$$ if you pull for USC, though you may find very few other TN fans to get with you on that these days. Actually if there is one place in college ball where Kiffin could skirt the rules anymore than at UT he found it. By the way the term reality world is redundant, Ace.

I went through this same thing this past summer. The lady I spoke to in Nashville told me all that is required is to notify the state of the address change. I went ahead and went to the DMV and did the replacement HCP form. It was worth the 5 bucks to me to get a new one with matching address. Sounds like you have done all that is required by law. If you are worried about it go the extra step and do the paperwork at the DMV. Took me about 3-4 months to get my new HCP.

Here's what is great . I will post the two records of the two schools over the past 5 years. You tell me which is TN and which is ND. 36-27 and 35-27. Looks like in the real world these two teams have been equally mediocre the past 5 years buddy. There's your reality check.

The book is good for people that have just started thinking about using a firearm for personal protection. There are a variety of real life cases in there that can give most new gun owners a way to think about how and when to use your gun for defense and what the ramifications of those actions may be. It can answer alot of the basic questions that people have and back it up with real life cases to hammer the point home. It is a great book for new shooters.

The question was how many Championships does TN hav. Answering that question would have been to simply say 6, not quote biased figures out of context in parantheses. Maybe the problem isn't Notre Dame or Bama fans, it's that UT fans have tradition envy of such storied programs.

If we are gonna count National Championships that way then Notre Dame has 21. Notre Dame won't rank in the top of any Bowl categories because they refused Bowl games until 1966 when Parseghian insisted they play in Bowls. Awesome that Neyland is 2nd highest winning %, really. But Notre Dame goes back and forth with Michigan for being the winningest team in college football history.

Are you for real? You think that is the only off field incident. Google The Fulmer Award and see what comes up. He had so many incidents the bloggers named the award for team with the most arrests in an off season after him. Putting cute little smilies throughout your post doesn't make it any more valid. As for Notre Dame's sellout streak go ahead and look that up too. They have sold out every home game since 1966. Also I never said other teams are all cheaters, I just said Notre Dame plays at a higher level academically than most other schools and doesn't let players skate by. You don't hear about tutors doing athletes homework and taking tests for them like what happened in Knoxville under Fulmer. I know they lost 9 bowl games in a row. They get invited to bowls they don't deserve to be in because they sell the game out, travel well, and set ratings records for the bowl game. College Football is about money and ND brings alot of it with their massive fanbase across the country. Here are a few more records I'm proud of tied for the highest win % in college football history, tied for most Heisman winners, highest graduation rate, and 11 Consensus National Titles. Good luck getting those kind of numbers with Dooley. The Irish are coming back and whether you love ND or hate them you have to admit the College Football is alot better off when they are good.

Yes, I am serious. If you don't believe it then you need to review the history of the game and how it became popular in america in the '20's. The legendary games between the Irish and Army at Yankee stadium, The whistlestop train tours around the country with ND taking on the KKK and other college teams. The games being rebroadcast on Sunday mornings across the country. Notre Dame brought College Football into America's living rooms. The reality of the game is it is better for everyone when ND is good. Notre Dame sells out every game they travel to, they set ratings records for every bowl game they play in, which is why they get invited to play out of where they desereve to be from time to time. UT can't come close to that kind of tradition. The Urish will be back. Kelly was a good hire and they will win again. The great thing about ND is they don't have to cheat to do it. Almond if you think this was the first incident UT players have had you are wrong. Phil's players were just as bad. I too envy the success that Bama, and Florida have right now, I just also know that it is cyclical.

Please read In the Gravest Extreme by M. Ayoob. It covers alot of these kinds of scenarios. The book was written by a man who has spent his life testifying in courtrooms on cases involving self defense shootings. You will find advice on almost any shoot/no-shoot scenarios from someone who has seen the ramifications in the courts first hand. I think this book is required reading for anyone that believes they may use a gun in self defense.

I do love the Irish. Can't stand the Vols. It's fairly typical for a fan of another program that is not so steeped in tradition and success to be jealous of Notre Dame and accuse its fans of living in the past. Let's be honest, as a Notee Dame fan why wouldn't you be proud of the tradition. Notre Dame brought college football to America. 11 consensus National Championships (21 if you count 'em the way "Bama does) 7 Heisman winners, and revolutionizing the way the game is played with the forward pass. I do love the fact that Notre Dame has forgotten about more Championships than TN will ever win. Lou and Knute are gone and the great thing about Notre Dame is that their lore persists. Major college programs go through down cycles, they will be back. USC was down before Caroll, Bama before Saban, and so on. Notre Dame will be back. Even if they don't the fact that they bring in good kids that graduate at or above 95% and don't make headlines by robbing gas stations will always be enough to keep me as a fan.

Here's a question for ya Almond since you seem to be so down on Notre Dame and so high on the Vols. If they have been so irrelevant in your lifetime what happened the last 2 times the Vols played the Irish? Maybe you will remeber that. Also you claim to have known some blue chip athletes, from where? One from Ootewah that was always gonna go to UT? This is a big country buddy, there are alot of kids across the country that Notre Dame brings in. Case in point this was the first year in the past 5 that they had a recruting class outside the top 10. And I'm glad you like Dooley, I can't wait to see what happens in the next 2 years if Richt gets fired and the GA job opens up. I hope Kelly leads the Irish back to glory. I don't think they are that far away. Crist will be back this summer and that kid will do great in Kell's system. They have 3 great receivers still, and some great backs returning. Defense is the big question mark. They will be decent this year, will most likely not make a BCS game, and hopefully will win a National Championship in 4 years. TN will continue to be a SEC bottom feeder for 5 years.
